  1. ive bought it a couple times from Woolworths, I've seen it stocked recently at our store.
  2. Yes try Jo, she has her rescue group on fb https://www.facebook...leLegsDogRescue or http://www.littlelegsdogrescue.com.au/ Or try Miss Squishy (Heather) of Adelaide All Breeds Dog Rescue https://www.facebook...224826754237905 Phone0422 893 [email protected] Good luck!
  3. Awwww thank you WSM ! :) Hopefully you will see a post in here for her 12th birthday ! x Thank you also Zenith
  4. I haven't gone through that puppy fear phase/s at all with young Miah *touch wood*. Nothing seems to phase her at all . Shes just over 7 months old now. I was expecting it having read about it on dol ! Joey remembered his Mum 'Renae' when she came to live with us, which was a few years later. They also seem to recognize and are comfortable around their siblings/family at the cavalier club fun days :)
  5. In Joey's case this is what he had/still has : Corneal abrasion with secondary corneal lipidosis . We saw Dr Gavin Newman, same place as Dr Read Please keep us updated once you have seen the specialist. Thanks
  6. Sounds very similar to what Joey has ! but not saying it is ... We did not notice it initially and it never occurred to us that his eye had been scratched.. even after treatment there is still a visible patch/cloudiness in his eye, which may need operating on later. The vets thought he would go blind, but the specialist said he won't .The vet also said he was beginning to get cataracts but the specialist said hes not getting them.. the specialist is able to do many more thorough tests than the vet is able too. the vet gave him some gel drops that made it worse and had prolonged the healing wheras the drops the specialist gave us has worked much better.. still a way to go yet with it all. Hope you get into the specialist soon and get it sorted out, poor boy :) ps Someone told me their dog had its eye once scratched even by a blade of grass that got infected..
  7. Hi We saw his colleague recently. I thought we were going see Dr Read but got the other one instead, who is very good as well He was very thorough ! Joey still has some ongoing eye issues, its been assumed one of his eyes was scratched at some stage by either the cats or even young Miah as she tends to jump all over them. He gave us some better eyedrops than what the vet had given him (which were making it worse), and if it doesn't come right (could take a long time) they can do a small op on his eye for it. Its improving but not 100 percent yet.. He also gave us some tablets in case his eye was painful but we didn't keep Joey on them for too long. Eyes are very precious and id be seeing the specialist as soon as you can. It didnt take us long to get an appt as soon as the vet put a referal through for us:) All the best with it.
  8. Thank you Staffyluv They made a mess with it all after lol
  9. Earlier this year our beautiful Renae was diagnosed with some mysterious liver toxin problem, and it wasn't looking good. She had to go onto Antibiotics and some special medication that was made up for her. Shes still not 100 percent, but shes doing really well now considering how serious the vets thought it was at the time. Anyway she turned 11 today. Here she is pictured (far left) with Miah and Joey (Joey was from her 1st litter)
  10. Cavaliers and any breed of dog are like us humans, we all have our own personalities and quirks.. They are generally very friendly and easy going and great with children, but if they haven't been socialized properly or have had bad experiences , they can develop behavioral problems. Our old Cav can get a bit territorial, but shes deaf and got some old age health issues now. Depends what kind of mood she is when we go out. Im like that too these days, I dont have the same patience I used too
  11. Miah gets Revolution monthly which is just for fleas and heartworm. She also get a allwormer tablet every 3 months.
  12. Our Miah playfully nipped my feet/shoes a few times when she was younger, she was just being a puppy, and it never developed into any issues. She now over 7 months old and hasn't done it since. I just used to give her a toy and encourage her to play with that instead and didn't make a huge deal out of it. Miah is defiantly pedigree :) Shes got such a beautiful disposition, altho very lively still, Ive been told the Tri's can be very hyperactive at times Dappledgrey you might want to change your post title to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
  13. oh well that wont be helpful then lol are u on facebook, i came across this page with a quick search. https://www.facebook.com/BassetHoundsRule :)
  14. is there a breed subforum on here for them? have you tried googling about it ?
  15. Oh ok, well see what others have to say about it then..
  16. Many Cavaliers are snorers, sometimes it can be because of health issues or being overweight, but many snore that dont have any health issues or aren't overweight. Im not sure if its a common thing with Basset Hounds or not? its not because he/she is overweight.?
  17. what about contacting Miss Squishy (Heather) from Adelaide All Breed Dog Rescue Inc https://www.facebook...4237905?fref=ts. She might be able to help. (Just a suggestion) :) BTW from my understanding syringiomyelia is not a common issue with Cavaliers bred responsibly here in Australia.
  18. I hadn't realized you had moved to SA, welcome ! :) I don't know what its like in the Barossa but all the best with getting your permit for them all. I applied for one where we live in Goolwa for an extra dog (we now have 3) had no issues at all for you bikergirl !
  19. thats what i thought the post was about too at first minimax , it got me curious to read on
  20. We get them here pretty badly in certain seasons.. have had to take the cavs to the vets on a few occasions in the past.(when they have got them in their ears) We have made a smaller yard to try to make it more manageable .. and we try to put their snoods on them when the grass seeds are at their worst. I had a dog in the past that got one in his paw, and it got infected (had been there for ages without me knowing) next there were clumps of grass growing out his paw! Of cours he had to go to the vets. One of our cats also got one in her private area, and the vet said its lucky we found it as soon as we did or it could have killed her.. Nasty things, grass seeds
  21. Its not a mouth wash as such but we use this spray for our Cavs, but we got it elsewhere so its different looking container. You still have to brush and or scrap plague off tho imo as it just softens it up. http://www.glowgroom...2oz-peppermint/
