  1. Yes! the name is Seb. (dont know how that correlates with Victor but there you go )
  2. Thanks Bjelkier, how long ago did you transport your dog? My flight path is flying out of Poland: Warsaw - Prague - Dubai - Melbourne.
  3. I always walk my dogs into the kennel and pick them up also. But I somewhat of a regular, so maybe that makes a difference ... anyhoo, OP: what are you doing on DOL - go and enjoy your holiday! Leave us forumites stuck in Australia to argue about the kennel  Hehe, yep I should go finish packing and we're off to the airport in an hour :) Going to Norway to see family and ski and celebrate my 30th :) [if you don't get packing soon you will be inundated with requests for chocolate gifts from Norway or reduced makeup and alcohol at the duty free]

  5. Maybe a friend or relative that lives nearby can ask for a tour of the kennel for you. Or maybe there are DOLers who have boarded their dogs at the same place who may be able to provide feedbac wrt the kennel, and how their dogs were cared for. Bon Voyage and enjoy your holiday Even if the kennel is shiite, the dogs will be okay! Dont worry! :)
  6. Does anyone have the contact details for the KCC Show Supply vendors that they can PM me? It is the vendor that sells umbrellas, umbrella stands, mats, crates and all the dog collars. I think the name is Victor and they are in Glenroy? But I cannot remember... I need to buy an umbrella and umbrella stand, 2 chairs and a mat :D before the weekend. Thank you :)
  7. Just wondering what other people have paid to fly their dog from Poland to Australia. I have a quote for nearly $7300 (crate size is big also 140 x 85 x 90) but it still seems excessive. Thank you ETA: crate size is actually 122 x 81 x 89
  8. Me too. I don't know why but it makes me  also
  9. How do GSDs cope in quarantine? An old GSD through some of the more popular stop over airports, are you kidding?
  10. Or bank balances. Or size dogs. Or knowledge of the Quarantine system.
  11. A bit of realism please. Just because I might want to do x y z does not mean it is a likely the opportunity or the capacity will present itself.
  12. There's very little in common and a massive price disparity between transporting two little dogs to the UK and transporting a large GSD to Holland and back.
  13. Well it is true, a professional cannot make two dogs as in the OP scenario, get along. The behaviorist in this instance, would be to help the OP understand his own dogs' behaviour, and so manage the two dogs better.
  14. Nah I don't want to get rid of Ziggy, besides the bite, he is my ideal type of dog. If I get rid of one, it will have to be the Labrador, as I said above, due to being easier to find a home for. I am thinking of doing further upgrades to the property so there is even more protection from them getting at each other if a gate is left open etc (Could have two sets of gates etc). I have sent a few emails to some animal behavioral experts and said I am willing to pay the fee etc, I am just waiting for a response which should come within a few days. I am not just after advice, hehe sort of wanted a slight bit of sympathy :) My back is still healing weeks later, but he just got flesh, no organs or anything :) Oh also very interested in other person dog bite stories. I want to learn as much as I can about such behavior. The two dogs will not get along so you have to separate them. NO dog behaviorist is going to make two males get along particularly when one is of a breed that can be intolerant to the same sex. Alrighty so from experience, probably more lengthy than I would prefer on such matters, your solution is South Korea for Dog A and North Korea for Dog B. So never again shall the two meet. As for why you want a dog for protection, that's your business :) . Clearly Mark is of high repute and I'm all for bringing in the experts, actually I wonder why this wasn't done immediately following the incident weeks ago. I will admit I am also a little confused by your contradiction. I guess the point of the expert is NOT to make the boys get along so much as help make them good K9 citizens on their own. The Lab could certainly have done with professional help regarding his food protection issues ages ago. I really don't see the contradiction.
  15. This is Vic's more shady establishments ... not the place Animal Lib can go and raid (although might teach them a thing or two about raiding and who and what they don't want to run into) If Vic Pol are throwing the killing goats and pig meat book at them its because it's all they got.
  16. 13 months is about spot on for the average tempered dog. The more self-assured individuals start months younger, particularly when they live under the same roof. And then you have some super sharp cases that think they're all that by 12 and 16 weeks.
  17. Oh yes because there's heaps ...

  19. A breeder friend had someone last week ask if she had any puppies in stock and if not when would she be getting some in. If they're not breeders or farmers or bloodstock people, and most people are not, then 'stock' is a word I'd imagine is quite logical to use. Notwithstanding, that the best con artists are the ones that use the words they know you want to hear. In any case, I don't really care how someone expresses themselves. I'm interested in the person and what they are trying to say. On a side note, questions that pique my curiosity are: How many times has the mother had puppies? Will you be keeping any? How many litters do you have each year? non-breeder unrelated stuff that's very much oh here we go ... Little Earnest's been reading from the PC manual  And the "why do you breed" question with my dogs is really funny, because by the time I've finished explaining (well since they asked) I know they have less idea than when they first started and are probably quite bamboozled with all the detail. Why do you breed is not a question. It's a day long conversation! At least :D

  21. I think you should breed what you think will produce the best and the last thing I would do is ask for opinions here; because basically what relevance does another breeder's opinion have on what you do. Who cares :) I really cant see how you expect you are going to get any meaningful advice, when all the advice is going to come from the perspective of their own burrow to push and if they do not know your dogs or their lineage ... their opinions are just guess work at best. Do you need that? I dont think you do hon :) Go with your own instinct, it's the most objective and honest opinion you'll get.
  22. I'd make sure that the breeder is not meaning Limited Registration for the "no papers".
  23. My pet ltd registry puppies are at least one thousand less than their full registry counterpart. My pet puppy homes do not pay for import lineage but full registry homes, why yes absolutely.
