  1. Oh, and best advice - ditch the partner, keep the dog. thumbsup1.gif Bargain!!
  2. He does have doggy bed , but its all shredded up. Most of the inards in the bed is gone. So now he has half a bed LOL. And when i give it to him , he likes to drag it around the garden till its all messed up. And i dont have a kennel for him, but we have a empty garage that i thought he would use, but he dosent seem to like a Mansion Kennel (Garage) LOL
  3. I was just wondering if it is healthy for a puppy who is six months old to sleep outside on concrete. He used to be a inhouse dog , used to sleep on our bed with us. Until now as my partner wants him to stay outside. Now all the poor puppy does is sit by the door waiting to come inside. I have noticed when i finnish playing with the puppy outside, once i go indoors, my dog will just sit and wait by the door on the cold concrete floor. However when the dog is let inside, he becomes a little terror and tries to steal things of the table and you have to constantly watch what hes trying to grab. I feel sorry for him because when we give him his bed outside, he shreds it up and cant leave him unsupervised with it. Can someone provide me some feed back to this. I would like him to be comfortable.
  4. Hi, We moved into a new house recently and my 5 month old puppy likes to dig holes and hide his food in them and the cover it back up with soil. He then goes back to the food where he hid, takes it out and finds makes another hole in the ground and does the same thing again with his food. A couple of days ago i have noticed that he has skined the top of his nose. He dosent seem to be in any pain, but the skined area is pinkish or red but its not bleeding. Is there an ointment cream that i can buy which is safe to put on his nose to help it heal faster. And how do i stop my dog from trying to cover his food, by digging holes and covering it up with soil ? This is becoming a very serrious problem with our puppy as i dont want him to keep skinning his nose and im worried that it might get infected. :D
  5. Maybe this topic has been posted all the time. But what are some of the best ways to correct a dog other than saying "No" or "yes" or good boy ? When my boyfriend corrects our dog he pulls the leash on the dog really hard, hits the dog in the back of the head and bum. Or Pushes the dog as in if hes on the bed bitting something my boyfrined will push the dog of the bed in one push. My boyfriend also likes to use the technique of "scare the dog to death" to train him. I think this is too much for a 5 month old puppy. When i try to train him i say no and give a smack on the bum till the dog lets go of my clothes, or if he barks i pull the leash as a warning and say no. I dont try to scare the dog shitless. Also if the dog is bitting something i dont want him to bite i tell the dog no , and then give the dog something else that the dog is allowed to chew. But for some reason i have all the bites and scars on my arms from the dog and my boyfriend dosent get bitten by this dog at all ;/ help please.
  6. I have a 5 month old Australian Cattle Dog X Labrador , and to prevent him from destroying out unit we have tied him on a leash. I was wondering how long should a puppy be tied to a leash because he seems to whine alot when he is on it. Yesterday i took him out to go and play in my parents backyard and he enjoyed it and did not whine at all when he came home to our place, he just went straight to sleep. But today however he just whined when i gave him a bone. He was looking for a bit of soil to put the bone in like he did yesterday in my mums yard and couldnt find one in our unit and started whining again. Could this be a puppy boredom thing and him just wanting to play all the time? We have him on a leash all day 7 days a week. But we take him for a walk once or twice a day. Am i doing something wrong ?
  7. Here are the things that my 3 month old puppy named Chewy has destroyed so far he is a Australian Cattle Dog X Labrador. 3 of my new leather work shoes and sport shoes. Any piece of clothing that he can reach and that is mine, new shirts socks etc. I went to put my bra on one morning trying to reach for the strap wondering why i couldnt close it, (Thought i was getting fat LOL) i realised that the straps behind the back had been chewed off . Ripped up the timber floor tiles costing us $3000 dollars to repair (eaten most of the wood as well) Destroyed my fiances 5 speaker surround sound system cords.(now its Stereo 2 speakers ) Ripped backing of entire couch.(hes working on the seats now ;) ) Split my stereo system speaker in half, eaten the chords and chewed the cone inside it. Peed on fiances side of the bed 2 min before we both where going to go to bed at 3 am. (we slept with towels instead of blankets in winter for that night) the dog had his blanket ;/ grrrrr :D Tried to destroy his leash (Bought him a metal one) Ripped through cardboard box to destroy the computer wires which was stored in it. Fiance broken his toe (Bashing foot into wall in corridor) while trying to avoid stepping on the dog. (Dog ran between his legs while he was walking) Destoyed any CD's he can find. His bowl, and 2 pillows. Also had dioreah sprayed on the wall (that one stunned us both :D ) Bites the door. Steals full cigarette packets. 2 Phone books. Dust pan. He likes sand paper too LOL. My fiances Terry Goodkind books. My leather Office chair. His leather collar. My dress belt. Eats the metal bars that supports his dog bed.
