  1. l could give you a huge bag of horse shit to put on their lawn...
  2. she is 18 weeks and the male is 18mths, l keep them seperate when not supervised as they do play very rough and feel she is still too small and may get hurt or over exercised. though the temporary fence between them probably will not last much longer, she is starting to work out how to get in with him. The plan is to run them together permantly when she is 7mths.
  3. What is the recommended age to desex female GSD pup and how many days should l keep her in seperate yard from adult dog? and are they more prone to putting on weight when done.
  4. l agree with Dogdude, the force retrieve is very reliable but Not recommended for the inexperienced though there is plenty to get wrong, and you do not have to use the correction ever again. My 15mth pup is retrieving ball, dumbell as he is ball crazy but eventually may have to teach force just to make him reliable.
  5. depending on how many hours you are away, maybe leave them in the house. My sister leaves her dogs inside when at work, they are well exercised before she leaves for work and all seem happy with this routine.
  6. thanks t(AD)pole, that is not far for me to travel to at all closer than melbourne. regards,
  7. Would anyone know of where l could buy a see-saw & A frame from in the Melbourne area. thanks.
  8. jeff jones is correct in what he is saying. the dog is trained on the sleeve, and not all would be a reliable protection dog. There is more dog attacks from the untrained family pet, part bred, small breeds. A shutzhund trained dog is more/highly trained in obedience than the other 2 phases.
  9. a hard decision. l would bring puppy home as they do sleep alot at that age. it would also learn that you come and go and should not fret when you have to leave it but l also would wait if someone cant check and feed pup during those hours.
  10. can he be left in yard during the day and let him have a area where he can bury his bone, l feel they need this and when left in unit can you maybe only give him a certain area where he cant destroy things, maybe just in the kitchen when you are not home. Pups need to be able to move around and play.
  11. thanks Morgan for posting that link. when a dog has a reaction or death is it within so many hours of needle given or can they have a reaction months after it has been given? l had no idea how unsafe it is.
  12. the more l ask people the more l am deciding not to go with the needle for the pup. though my 2 previous GSD always had the H/W needle with no problem. Buy giving the tablets would'nt that be as bad in there system as the needle? lf l ask the vet of course he will recommend the needle.
