  1. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent in the USA to the NSW Depart Fair Trading for the protection of consumers rights or more specifically, for purchasers of dogs? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi All, Can anyone recommend an agent to import frozen semen from NZ and the approximate cost? Is it easy enough to do yourself or is it worth getting an agent (such as SiresonIce) to do all the work? Many thanks Kate
  3. Thanks. I think from speaking with Cryogenes they seem to be the way to go and completely on top of everything.
  4. Hi all, Does anyone have any recommendations of who to use to assist with importing semen from the UK? Anyone tried SiresonIce? The dog's owners in the UK are willing to send the semen but dont really want the hassle of having to organise everything so a transport company would be the best way to go. Any advice would be greatly received. I am located in Sydney. Many thanks Kate
  5. Hi all, Does anyone know the cost of the bloods to send a dog to NZ? The pup will be under 6 months so no need for the heartworm test. Many thanks Kate

  7. Its a Japanese Chin. I have tried the training to stand longer and it helped "minimally". I also tried the reward system in that she can race/jump around after she has behaved and after we have been in the ring - still with only minimal results. I agree that her spark is a huge part of her being a great showdog, but it just needs to be toned down a smidge. Also tried rescue remedy, anxiety drops (meant to balance emotions), hyperactivity drops - and none had any effect. The anxiety ones actually made her worse!!! lol. I do prefer her that way rather than a tail between her legs though!! But a happy medium would be ideal.
  8. Hi all, I have an extremely hyperactive show dog. She absolutely LOVES being shown and is so excited at the shows (particularly on the table) that she wont stand still for more than 30 seconds and has blown her chances for the group many a time. I have tried a couple of the herbal remedies for "hyperactivity" but nothing seems to settle her down. Walking her to try and tire her a little doesnt have any affect either. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that could be used to "take the edge off" her excitability??? Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi, I have Jap Chin so you need to be able to move quickly but not run as such. I tried the ballet flats and they wouldnt stay on my feet - very embarressing! Like the look of the sketchers so will check them out. Thanks all!!!
  10. HI all, Just wondering what everyone thought were the best type of ladies shoes for the show ring? I need to buy a new pair and like the casual jogger style (with either the elastic or velcro crossovers on the front), but have no idea about brand or where to get them. Any recommendations?? Best non-slip etc?? Thanks
  11. DogsNSW do not allow the "express" option for re-regos and basically they cant gurantee how long they will take to process. Its an absolute joke...
  12. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any advice to darken the nose pigment? A bitch of mine went slightly lighter during a season and never went black again. It is only the centre of the nose that is slightly lighter. Any suggestions? Kate
  13. We rescued a young dog with a grade 3 or above murmur at age 10 months and the vet said that it was too old to be a juevenile mumor. They told me to have it cardiac ultrasounded at age 2 to decide on appropriate treatment. I decided to look into other non conventional treatments and found RObert McDowell in Bathurst who makes homeopathic remedies. I purchased and used the Heart Repair tonic for about 6 months and the dog has now turned 2 and has been completely cleared of ANY detectable mumur!!! A far cry from the mumur that could be felt and heard with no problems previously. The tonic if anyone was interested is http://www.herbal-treatments.com/dog_heart_repair.html. It may be coincidence but I think the stuff is amazing!!! Kate
