I am sorry that i haven't been able to let everyone know. Have had trouble with my compuer and nt then lost my password to sign in but now all good... My girl gave birth to 6 puppies on 15 November 2009, 3 hairless boys, 2 powderpuff boys and 1 powderpuff girl. Was hoping on a hairless girl but it didn't happen. Babies are now 9 days old and are doing well... Below is picture of them at new born... They look very cute. Only 1 looks hairless to me??? Thanks, there are 3 hairless, 1 very hairless and 2 hairy hairless which means they have body hair and will have to be shaved. Cass Which are the hairy hairless??? BB - I will have a guess as I have not seen baby CC's before. From L - R hairy Hairless - Powder Puff - Powder Puff - Powder Puff - hairy Hairless and the one on the R is the very Hairless. You are spot on!!! Well done Cass

Dog Coats For Long Haired Breeds ....
cass_06 replied to NoodleNut's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I think I found it!!!! Woohooo ... not cheap ... I have contacted them and awaiting some further information about shipping costs, sizing and durability of the Hurtta waterproof Pro overalls and the Hurtta Waterproof Sport Overalls. I so hope this might be the answer after spending another 3 hours yesterday washing and picking bits out of my Puli's coat after training .... can't keep this up. http://www.camddwrcanine.co.uk/xcart/produ...at=0&page=1 http://www.camddwrcanine.co.uk/xcart/produ...at=0&page=1 http://www.camddwrcanine.co.uk/xcart/manuf...nufacturerid=15 lovemyfurbabies does pj's. they did some for some cockers that dribbled excessively not long ago. they made them out of PUL which is the cover material that some babies nappies are made out of. it is stretchy, waterproof and breathable. the link is www.lovemyfurbabies.com.au Cass -
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions/advice on ear taping to get ears up? I have a 7 month old chinese crested and i know it's because he is teething, the tip of ears seem to droop a little. If anyone has any suggestions/advice on ear taping it would be greatly appreciated

Since when can ivermectin cure demodex in a week?! Nehkbet has given good advie. Steer clear of red meats for a while, buy some Pyohex wash, continue to use the ivermectin and monitor the dog closely for any signs of reaction to this, administer antibitotics if a secondary skin infection is present. Demodex can sometimes take a long time to clear and persistence and patience is the only way to deal with it. They must be consistent with the treatment. I haven't any experience with Westie skin but Westielover is an expert in the area. The Pugs that I have had come through with sensitive skin have been cleared of their problem by removing all commercial foods. I find sometimes even the best kibbles will cause a reaaction. Just what i was told, never had demodex or used ivermectin so i was only going but what i was told...
-
Hi, I don't have westies so don't know much about them but i was told that demodex manage can be fixed by ivomec from your vets, usually cures it less then a week. Maybe you could put paw paw ointment on the worst areas as well as i have found this product has cure any skin problems i have had... Good luck

Thanks to everyone that have replied. My boys test results came back clear for this Hepatocutaneous syndrome but my vet seems to think that even though tests came back clear he could still have it, seems strange to me?? Any way my vet hasn't been that much helped to me so i have requested for him to be back on a weeks worth of antibiotics and cortosone to see if it has helped. From Tuesday to Saturday it has improved, still have a bit for him to be better but things are looking good. I think it was an allergy to durack brisbane dog grounds as he had perfect skin and everytime we went there he would break out. We rang groundsman and he said tehy spray the grounds with a herbicide which i looked up and is quite harsh if it has contact with skin which it has... I will post some pics for you guys to see... Cass

I have a chinese crested hairless dog who has a scabby and red neck. About 7 weeks ago we went to brisbane for some dog shows and ever since we got back he has developed a scabby and red neck but now has spread up his face down his legs and groin area. He has been on 3 courses of antibiotics as well prednill tablets. He has had a biopsy and blood tests. Now my vet is thinking it may be Hepatocucaneous syndrome which is to do with his liver. I have researched this and it says it happens in older dogs. My dog is only 18 months old. If it is this syndrome there is no cure for it and will live for about 3 months. He is back at the vets tomorrow to have 2 more blood tests, 1 on empty stomach and 1 on a full stomach to see if it is this syndrome. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what it is? Thanks in advance Cass

Hydrobaths, Double/single Tanks And Auto Fill
cass_06 replied to cass_06's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks the info was very helpful. This will be our first hydrobath... I would rather spend $1100 rather then $2000+ for our first. We only have small dogs but bathing them in laudry tub can be a pain... We would be using the hose/bore water. i do have access to hot water but that is thorough the tank... Cassie -
Hi All, I am in the process as to finding/buying a hydrobath. I have small dogs but bathing them in the laudry tub is getting annoying. Can someone tell me what the difference is between double and single tanks, what is the better one? Also what auto fill is? I am looking at a second hand conmurra hydrobath, it has hardly been used, 2006 model, single tank and heater for $1100 is this a good price? Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated Cassie
