  1. Australian Cattle Dogs are either ACD's or Cattle Dogs, NEVER Heelers ... Heelers are those BYB dogs that are a dime a dozen... Dont ask what our cars' rego is though ... Oh and Basenji's are just known as B's, (and many other names, but Im not allowed to mention them here )...
  2. FANTASTIC... Looking forward to hearing the 2nd part... Would love to go and work for her ...
  3. That's the problem isn't it. I'm the same. My girl seems very quiet in herself but then in this miserable cold rainy weather that is also to be expected. I usually find one of the first things I notice as well is increased appetite but my girly isn't really showing signs of that yet. Chocolate, are you expecting a litter this late in the season ??? Maybe, don't know yet. She seasoned very late this year the latest I've had a girl come in but understandably as the weather was really not autumn like until the end of May. WOW, she was mated about the time that most of the pups were being born !!! Yep, you guys did have quite funny weather... Good luck, fingers crossed ;) ... Oh, who is it ??? Did you have your other litters, the ones up on your website ???

  5. Thoughts are with you at this devastating time... RIP Brock
  6. Thank you both periannath & vetrg... VERY, VERY interesting about dogs being diagnosed in both NSW and VIC ... Its quite frightening and very scary to see the amount of diseases being seen in the ACD ... Its a big part of why we are getting out of the breed, as much as it breaks my heart ...
  7. Thanks K & P... Have been involved in ACD's since the late 80s, and havent heard of this disease being particularly an issue with the ACD's... *Slinks off to check on her diseases affecting the ACD*...
  8. Sorry, what is PLL ??? I have ACD's and I havent heard of this disease ...
  9. Thanks Pers, after I wrote it, I suddenly had the idea that the Vet needs to be proficient in doing the xrays , otherwise its a waste of time and money... Its info for a pup of mine, pet homed into a wonderful family, so need them to check the Vet is capable of doing the xrays... Cowanbree that is something to think about, didnt even cross my mind... Mmmmmm....
  10. Just wondering if there are any contraindications in getting a 12 month old Basenji bitch spayed, and to avoid needing a second anaesthetic, having her H/E xrays at the same time ???
  11. Thanks for the input ... So just so I have this absolutely correct... # Definately NOT Thiopentane. # NO ACP in the premed. # Either Alfaxan or Propofol for surgery. Is this correct ??? Just to say that this is for a 12 month old, slightly overweight Basenji bitch to be spayed ...
  12. Thank you ren83 ... I knew it started with 'th' but couldnt remember the rest !!! Now I just need the name of the one to use ???
  13. Ive done a quick search for the correct anaesthetic to use on sighthounds, but I think I might be having a senior moment and I cant find it . Running out of time now too.. Just wondering what the name of the Anaesthetic is that SHOULD be used and also the name of the one/s that we need to avoid ??? TIA
  14. you can scan the packet and then print it out on a special iron on transfer and iron it on to a fabric. If anyone has a a packet of the tea scan it and send it to me and I will do it for you. I was looking for photos I took when I was brewing it up when I was treating a pug bitch with terrible skin condition when she came back home. I used it because of all the times that Judi raved about how good it was so I was talking with her, I sent her photos of before and after - the difference it made in such a short time was amazing. Unfortunately I can not find the pics I was after but google is still my friend. :D Calendula Tea pics on Google This is a fantastic idea, I am happy to buy some fat quarters if someone will do what needs to be done - I think the calendula flowers and tea on it would be the finishing touch knowing how passionate Judi is about it. I have more material than I care to admit-I will see if I can work out an applique or something and post back-i think that my quilt shop may have some material of tea cups/pots so i will just have to go and check it out. Im really glad to see that some clever DOLers are able to get this going I think it should bring a big smile to Ernie's face when she sees it :D ...
  15. Just one other thought... Does your girl have a coat on all day and night ??? The reason I ask, is because my 4 Basenjis, wear their coats all through winter, (day and night, and sometimes 2 coats each), and depending on the Tassie weather, sometimes other times too ;) ... I was getting heaps of dandruff on all of them... Finally after much trial and error, coats are off much more, and the dandruff is gone ...
  16. Is anyone clever enough to be able to copy the front of the Calendula (?sp?) tea, package onto a square ;) ... I think that just might give her a giggle !!! Just want to wish Ernie all the very best for a really quick recovery, we need her back on line ASAP...
  17. So can a GSD be stacked in the All Breeds ring 4 square, or just the White Swiss Shepherd ??? Also, without causing any conflict, I have always wondered why the GSD is stacked like that. Could someone please enlighten me as to why ...
  18. Yep you can have 2 if you want to... We have 2, the first is Rajacadoo, for our Cattle Dogs, and we aso have Langarni for the Basenji's... Yes its double the price/maintenance, but Im happy with the 2 ;) ...
  19. So just to be sure, do I contact the Tassie distributor, for a sample, or do I need to contact Sherel ...
  20. See this is EXACTLY my issue with Jetpets... They wanted to charge me $307 Melbourne to Hobart, with me provding my OWN crate, for a roughly 15 kilo dog Just dont know how they work out their pricing at all ...
  21. Just curious bordacollies4me, how you are able to get your dogs, from Brisbane to most capital cities, for such a low price, when one company wanted to charge me $307, with me providing my own crate, from Melb to Hobart ... There just seems to be no 'rhyme or reason' for the different prices ??? Bet if I rang tonight it would be a different price to the $307, quoted last week ... Is Hobart the dreaded city in this scenario ...
  22. Yep Fordogs, I think thats what they do, Im sure... I forgot that that, had happened to me as well, cant remember the exact pricings, but was told 1 price, by the time I had my credit card out, the price had gone down about $20 I didnt correct them though
  23. Having used both Dogtainers and Jetpets often over the last couple of months, my advice is to ring both companies, get a quote, get a receipt/reference number, then pick the best, and book. There has been massive differences in BOTH companies lately. In fact just last week, one wanted $307, Melb to Hobart, the other wanted $170, but the owner of the dog, in Vic was quoted $150, so thats what we got it for ;) ... I am really starting to think they put their hand in a hat and draw out any number ... Good luck...
  24. I heard of a recent show in QLD where the hound group was 6 yup 6. I think the whole show entry was around 20. Ok you win ...
