  1. What about the bitter apple spray? I am not sure how safe it is for humans but I would think that if its ok for dogs to get into their mouths then it would be fine for your sons arms.
  2. Bailey like them too, my mum said you're not supposed to give them to dogs but she is no dog expert so I am glad to hear others give their dogs it too.
  3. What ever happened with Spike? iIs he ok? Did you take him to the vet?
  4. Sorry I didn't see that, that has to be the most interesting cross ever!!
  5. Can I ask what breed of dog is Hana? your avitar makes her look like a papillon, she looks like a sweetie. As for her bizzar behaviour, she is a pup, they all go strange for all sorts of reason. But maybe, just maybe, she smelt the pee of a very dominant dog and it gave her a fright??
  6. We are dong the same but are also adding the occasional raw egg as we having chickens. Can I ask.... How often is ok for a small egg? Is it ok to give a frozen chicken wing? How much dried liver is ok? how do I prepare a raw carrot for him to eat? Thanks Vanessa
  7. Thanks Larry for the information. I must admit to knowing nothing just trying to find the best diet for my furbaby cause he is very fussy.
  8. :D :D You miss Kangaroo poo! Bailey got his true bark around 12 weeks if thats any help Edited to add: Its horse manure you only have to look at Indy (poor Kazzkanary's puppy) who was I think around 15 weeks old who died today after being attacked by a larger dog at a dog park!
  9. If your really concerned a trip to the vet is in order!
  10. I too have been giving denta bones I thought they were good for his teeth. I guess I will give him chicken necks instead....yuk!
  11. I am glad Mitchi is doing much better, before you know it, its will be like it never happened. You did good Kristie!
  12. This is a bit of a worry....... There is some evidence that consecutive use of yucca can interfere with absorption of fat soluble vitamins FOS=A naturally occurring substance comprised of the fossilized remains of diatoms. Diatoms are microscopic sized hard shelled creatures found in both marine and fresh waters. This is often used as a filtering material. tallow is obtained from the tissue of cattle in the commercial process of rendering. Although this is a very palatable source of fat, it is low in linoleic acid, which is necessary for skin and coat health. In addition, beef can be a source of allergies for some animals.
  13. Hi GB, Bailey only has one rear dew claw and its so itty bitty I am not sure they would even notice it. As we live in deep country I would think that most of the dogs the vet deals with are working dogs. Maybe thats why they want to remove the dew claws!?!
  14. Thanks for that, don't suppose you could post the ingredience?
  15. Kristie, my vet said they remove all rear dew claws unless requested not to but only the front ones if they cause trouble. Mel, I am going to put Bailey on Nutro which has kelp powder in it I think.
  16. How is she Kristie?? Hope she has come through it all ok, after all it is major sugery so remember to baby her!
  17. t-time, thanks for the info, I too see Baileys nose starting to lose more of the pink. We thought long and hard about showing but have decided that Bailey is a pet and we wont be showing him or breeding him. This is why we spoke to our vet about desexing and this is when the vet told us he wanted to tattoo Baileys nose!
  18. we use advantix, a monthly heartworm tablet and a monthly allwormer drontel(I think). So on the first of the month he gets his bit on the neck and 2 tablets and he is clear for another month!! *edited for spelling
  19. Thanks for the info. I was really quite worried about it. All I could think of was how sore my tattoo was after it was done (it hurt more a day or so later then it did when it was done) and how easily it would become a mess if he was licking it all the time. To tell the truth I am hopeing his nose will become all black not only for his safety in cancer prevention but also so I don't have to front up to my vet and say....nah going against your advice and not having it done....I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to those sorts of things!
