  1. Thanks Yonjuro - here's my favourite photo of him right side up! I think he looks like he's smiling - not bad for a puppy farm rescue!! ETA I should add this photo is Snook's master work! I still marvel that she managed to get such great photos - thanks again Snook.
  2. Well said. Australia is one of the most dog unfriendly places on the planet. I'm not saying that we don't need our quarantine laws - we do - but we are incredibly pet unfriendly as well. Personally, if the dogs are healthy and rabies free then just deport them. Johnny Depp and others will know better next time.
  3. Yes she's a pretty amazing grandma. She loves her grandson - and he loves her. Its really interesting that the westies go berserk if someone comes to the door - yet somehow they know when Its grandma before she appears and they greet her but don't bark... weird...
  4. Yeah I agree DD - I'm sure Mac has had his last dental even though he could probably do with another one. His grandma was here today so all three westies were in seventh heaven - they love it when she's here and they can spend the day with her lying all over her! And Mr Mac turned up his nose at his soaked dry food breakfast again this morning after I left for work - so of course she cooked him scrambled egg!! Apparently he had a very large serve!! Then turkey and rice for dinner - and some cheddar cheese for dessert! He's doing all right for an old fella!
  5. I know what you mean about the cold nose LG!!! Andy likes to get up close and personal and then rolls over on his back to be held like a baby!!! I call Andy my little chunky one - he's compact robust and a bit rotund!!!
  6. Yep DD - here its a case of weighing up the GA to have his teeth cleaned (and he's had lots of GAs - far too many IMO) or putting up with his breath!! Which isn't too bad just at the moment. And you've just reminded me - if I can get some turkey on the way home I'll make up some bone broth for him again. (Sarah can eat turkey as well without getting the squirts )
  7. Great excuse for a trip to Italy - Florence in particular!!
  8. Yes - so what do you do cane toad to make sure your attention is shared around??
  9. I find I have to be careful of my youngest westie Andy - he's such a healthy robust little man that he can become invisible - compared with the high maintenance needs of the older two. Here he is on his back in front of the fire right now. I'm really interested to know if anyone else has a dog who is so low maintenance they have to be careful to pay them enough attention in the face of other competing high maintenance canine family members??
  10. Thanks VM -Mr Mac is snuggling in front of the fire with his bottom right up against it. You're right -he's just wolfed down a little of his grandmothers salmon mornay - adored and cherished indeed! .
  11. I'm so sorry Anne - big hugs to you and your family. Boofy make a spot for my Mac will you beautiful???
  12. Mac takes after his 'mother' - who is rapidly going broke keeping him in blue cheese let alone Roquefort!
  13. I reckon you're right Caz - and if he plays his cards right he just might get a Sunday blue cheese treat.
  14. Hi all, Yes Mac is still chugging along with us - he managed to fall off the lounge early this afternoon and got his leg caught - all OK but he barked like a banshee - remembering that Mac barks like a demented seal after his laryngeal tie-back operation so he sounds quite odd. He's rubbing up against me now. Gotta love 'em.
  15. Have you ever considered stand up comedy ?? Agreed!! Sm you missed your calling!
  16. Thanks B - but seriously he doesn't need encouraging!!! I can't get over how well he is at the moment. He positively galloped down the hall tonight!! Its a real emotional roller coaster... but its all good today.
  17. Anne what a beautiful urn to keep Boofy in for forever. As to Olivia - my Sarah occasionally 'misbehaves' in a similar way - she has been known to wee on the lounge as well. So I feel for you!! But at the same time in a funny way its very grounding - life sure goes on!! Big hugs to you all.
  18. Yep he sure is - and while he might be deaf and going blind there's nothing wrong with his sense of smell!
  19. VM smoked salmon mousse!! Aren't they just crack-ups! I think they know we are soft touches as they get older and play it up! Here''s a lovely photo of Mac a few minutes ago on his great-granny's crocheted rug with Andy in the background.
  20. Thanks Caz. Well the old fella is now consistently refusing dog food for breakfast (knew he had good taste!) - but is wolfing down Adelaide Blue Cheese instead. And is looking and moving very well for it. Seriously I'm actually wondering if something in the cheese is doing him good he's doing so well today!!
  21. Thanks coogie - he had a very wobbly start this morning so his Granny checked in on him while I was at work and he was comfy and sound asleep in his bed. Tonight he's been very spritely and is now sleeping off his dinner.
  22. Thank you everyone. He's snuggling under my chin across my chest while I watch Masterchef - and all is right with the world...
  23. Hi all Mac Attack fans, the old fella has had a good day - very spritely this morning and very happy boy tonight. I sense more snuggles coming on!
  24. You are gorgeous VM - and back at you - thank you so much.
