  1. Thanks for that animallover99 - I was wondering why a snuffle mat was!
  2. Yes thats Andy - who has shown little interest in soft beds or lounge beds has decided he loves Sarah's bed !!! He's spent a lot of today in it. Anyway I'll see how it all pans out over the next few days.
  3. Gilly I'm so sorry for you and for Anna. I dont know a lot about Cushing's - but I do know that these wonderful DOLers were a tremendous help during Mac's last days. So be sure to post and we'll be here for you both .
  4. I hope so too - Sarah is very unimpressed with her dry in the mornings and takes a lot of encouragement to get her to eat it - whereas she positively dances for her raw at night. Fussy girl!!
  5. denali - no-one has been able to explain to me why I'm so brilliant at posting photos upside down!! I swear they are right side up when I upload them - its one of DOLs mysteries! Anyway glad you like the bed too. I bought them stuffed because I costed memory foam locally and the saving was neglibile - but buying the cover and stuffing the bed yourself with a different type of foam could be really worthwhile. I'm genuinely really thrilled with them.
  6. Andy trying out his new bed... (I bought his the flat one as that seemed to be how he preferred to sleep - he always chooses flat surfaces - and good to see I was right!! And thats the last for tonight!! Sorry for the deluge of photos - but I'm so thrilled with these - couldn't be happier!!
  7. Andy's turn - he's snoring his head off! Quite a step up from the concrete and wire cage in the puppy farm my gorgeous little man!!
  8. Thanks tons SM and ness - and yes they are spoiled - but having taken a bit of a back seat for a long time now it is nice to spoil them a bit in memory of Maccles (well thats my story and I'm sticking to it!). These and the terrific HH beds for the laundry are the first really good beds I've ever bought - and I'm really really pleased with them! Thanks DOLers - I'd never have known about HH or Orvis without you!
  9. Roova I don't 'like' them - I love them!! I'm gobsmacked!! People these are seriously good beds - yes they are an investment but they are so well made and as Roov says they are so soft but sturdy as well!!! I bought them stuffed already but buying the covers and stuffing yourself is a really good option to get these good beds at a better price. And she's still there...
  10. And oh my goodness - the new Orvis beds for the lounge arrived today, early (they weren't due until Monday) - and for once in my life I am utterly speechless. They are just fantastic - better than I dared hope for and IMO they are worth every cent. I put Sarah in hers a minute after I unpacked it and she hasn't moved. They are absolutely superbly made and obviously super comfy for my oldies. Roova thank you for posting - all is forgiven! And Sarah and Andy love you forever! Its a really bright spot in the what has been a sad, up and down few weeks.
  11. Beautiful Flowers from DogCity for Mac... I also received an absolutely beautiful bunch from a wonderful DOLer - but forgot to take their photo... but I'll never forget their beautiful colours... nor the wonderful card from another DOLer - you both know who you are and just how grateful I am...
  12. Well the new HH beds for Sarah and Andy arrived today. They are a huge step up from the falling apart old ones. They are wonderfully made and the perfect size. The colour of the beds is a bit odd - more khaki than grey where the HH winter covers are true grey - but they fit perfectly under the laundry cupboard door so you don't have to keep moving them to open the cupboard. Let's just hope the guys like them!!
  13. Thanks Woofy - yes he is much better. But he's been behaving a bit strangely in the last 24 hours. Yesterday he pulled some of the stuffing out of the already wrecked cushions in the laundry dog beds and had a good old chew on the rubber floor mat. Then at 4 am this morning I heard him get up and clatter out the doggie door - thought he was going for a wee but then he started barking!! Called him inside and he got back on his trampoline bed and went back to sleep. Now he's definitely only an alert barker - so something must have disturbed him. But it was unusual - it's only happened once or twice before in many years. And Sarah is being funny with her breakfast - wolfs down her raw at night no worries - but very fussy and 'off' with her dry in the mornings. At the moment I'm putting it down to readjustment after Macs death - and just hoping this isn't the 'new normal'.
  14. Twenty Starkehre! That's one mighty fine collection!!! I've just heard that my Henry Hotties should arrive tomorrow and the two Orvis beds should arrive next Monday!!! I'll then need to add them to my list!!! Seriously can't wait to get rid of the old smelly falling apart beds in the laundry with the rubbish!!! Might take a pic of them before I throw them to remind myself why I spent all this money!!!
  15. Ladies, ladies - Mac's Godfather is indeed the loveliest man with an even lovelier partner and former wife - and we are all great friends - and as a wise old uni friend said to me 'friends are far more important than partners - and last longer'!
  16. Thanks for posting about raspberry cordial everyone. Yes I now remember - it's been a standby for kids with giardia in the tropics for centuries and allied health people used it as a preventative when visiting schools and some communities. I remember it worked brilliantly and was very easily available. Never thought of using it with dogs but I'm going to add it to the shopping list. ETA While I know giardia is a parasite, IIRC red cordial worked well with it. I'm certainly going to try it with Andy.
  17. She has that in the garage, but I wanted this for inside and her tramp bed is a bit enormous and won't fit in the lounge room Roova I like those!! Thanks :) OSS I've just bought my Sarah the same bed as Roova but in a small - once I saw them I kept going back and looking at them and then constructed a story in my mind to justify the expense! . Thanks a lot Roova! And yes apparently they are as good as they look. And the truth is it wasn't cheap but the reviews are great and it appears it should outlast a number of cheaper beds - which is what I was looking for. I'll post some pics when it arrives. I priced getting just the cover from Orvis and stuffing it with memory foam here from Clark Rubber but it didn't work out to be much cheaper. (I really wanted memory foam for my oldies). So you could do what Roova did and buy a cover only and stuff it yourself - which I think is a very cost effective solution for such a good bed. Will be very interested in what you decide.
  18. The changing of the guard... and now we are three...

  20. And a beautiful westie butt in the park...
  21. A last westie maypole sniff in the park...
  22. A last sniff of Sarah's bottom in the park...
