  1. Hi Xiarose, I gently suggest you (re) read the thread - particularly the parts around Lynda and Archie being innundated, running out of products and attending shows - and then I suggest you email her with some details about your problem and a landline... hope that helps. Cheers, Westiemum :D
  2. Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't posted for a while - madness here! Everything continues to go well in the Westiemum household. Frequency of Westie Girl's paw licking has decreased substantially - in fact I think the residual licking is more a bit of habit than anything else cos the moment I 'chat' her about it she stops... same with older westie boy... and his skin, coat and paws are perfect. Foster westie has gone on to his sensational new foster mum who has kept up his routine with the twice weekly washing and the supplement. (Despite training he just couldn't be trusted with my gorgeous old pussy cat... so after almost 2 months of trying he has moved on...) Saw him a week or so ago and he looked sensational!! His coat has improved out of all sight, the discolouration has decreased incredibly, his skin is good, and he's a right regular gorgeous goof-ball! New foster mum is amazed at the shampoo and supplement... which of course will go with him on trial to his new family tonight (?)... so everyone please keep your paws crossed that this one works out for him... (the last one failed after he got on famously with a 1 year old westie but he wouldn't leave their very elderly maltese/shih tzhu alone...). Anyway I have no doubt their good diet helps a lot too - but I still swear by the shampoo and supplement... will be putting in a new order at the end of next month... Catsmother, FTPO, Loraine, Peigirl... others... how are you doing??? Cheers, Westiemum
  3. Hi WP, In starting this thread I think I completely unknowingly created a bit of an unexpected rush for Lynda and her partner. Although there are only a relative few of us discussing these products in this thread I see there have been almost 1800 views to date and I suspect there are probably people ordering who are not public - and every now and then someone who hasn't been part of the discussion pops up and says they have bought something. If my experience is anything to go by then Lynda certainly gives a very personalised service - something that I haven't experienced before online -and I suspect that takes lots of time. So my suggestion is to persevere - I think you'll find the shampoo and supplements etc really worth the wait - they've certainly helped my guys - a lot! Cheers, Westiemum
  4. Hi LDL, Yep we're really thrilled with the way he has come along. Sorry - I can't remember the postage - it was a while ago - but I'm sure Lynda or Archie will be able to tell you. I bought 2.5 litres of the EPO shampoo for the massive shampooing operations around here ;) And a bottle (2 litre I think) of the EPO food supplement. I thought about the 5 litre bottle but the 2.5 is lasting me ages and I thought the 5 litre might be really awkward to handle without decanting into a smaller bottle (can't be bothered) - particularly with the wiggle bum foster! Hope that helps Cheers, Westiemum
  5. I've been buying chicken necks from Lennards - smell good and fresh but best of all 2.00 a kg. (Occasionally there seems to be a turkey neck in the bag - but I just cut them up before freezing them for my westies). But you have to ask for them - they aren't on display. BTW my local Woolworths has started charging 5.99 a kg for chicken necks - more expensive than chicken wings - outrageous for what is essentially a waste product they would otherwise bin and we just use as treats or breakky for our dogs. - so I don't go near them anymore for this stuff - greedy you know whats!! No idea what Coles are charging - but I wouldn't be surprised if its something similar. I freeze then individually the moment I get home and give them to my guys frozen and in the side of their mouths - stops them hoovering them, slows them down, makes them chew and lessens the chance of them trying to swallow them whole - and I always watch them eat them and haven't had any problems. Cheers, Westiemum
  6. Hi Laffi, At the moment I'm just using the shampoo for my older westie boy and girl and the food supplement and shampoo with my foster boy. The best explanation I can give is in one of my previous posts - see below. I haven't been using the the conditioner but having said that, I think I might try it as well next time I put in an order to see if I can get even better results... I think I'll try the leave-in spray conditioner on my girls itchy feet to see if that helps - and maybe for 'between baths' use ... and I might try the older westies on the supplement as well... we'll see. Cheers, Westiemum
  7. Hi again, Yes westies are prone to skin conditions - unfortunately its the one weakness the breed has - but I've found that they are easily controlled through good diet, no preservatives, artificial colours or flavours, no fillers (usually wheat or corn products) or meat by-products - ie in my case a barf diet - and a good shampoo without any chemical nasties in it (enter EPO shampoo). Not sure about the white coat connection - haven't heard that before - but either way I find its easily controlled with a bit of common sense diet and coat/skin care. Hope that helps. Cheers Westiemum
  8. Hi Again, OK - an 11kg - 22kg dog on the initial first 4-6 week dose needs 1 scoop daily and on the maintenance dose post six weeks needs half a scoop daily. There are detailed directions on the pack. So on the maintenance dose a pack should last you around 160 days or 5-6 months depending on how accurate your measuring is - and assuming my maths is vaguely correct!! (Never my strong point).. Hope that helps, Cheers, Westiemum
  9. Hi Alison, I use it on my westie boy who doesn't have any itching problems - and his coat is beautiful - can't see any reason why not - its such good shampoo - but I'm sure Wylie can give you some advice. Cheers, Westiemum
  10. Thanks Wylie - yep that's precisely what will happen!! Will be part of his adoption agreement!! And the interesting thing is that its cheaper on a per litre basis than some others on the market anyway. Cheers, Westiemum
  11. Tris it depends on the weight of your dog - varies from half a scoop daily for 5 - 10 kg dogs up to 2 scoops daily for over 45 kgs for the first 4-6 weeks. Then the dose drops to quarter of a scoop for 5-10kgs dogs and 1.5 scoops for over 45 kg dogs. (Other amounts for dogs in between) For my two dogs (8 and 9 kg westies) I find a 400g tub lasts 5-6 months on the post 6 week maintenance dose. So how big is your older girl? Cheers, Westiemum Ed for clarity
  12. Thanks Wylie, Oh and I forgot to mention - the foster westies skin, including his bottom, now looks normal!!! And his coat is so much better!! (He's now in desperate need of his clip next weekend!). He actually looks like a real westie at last!! Here's a photo taken a fortnight ago... Cheers, Westiemum
  13. Yep BG I agree - that's serious price pain level - and yet I've seen Jointguard advertised online at 94.00 for 400g - serious ouchies too. Which is why I shop around and 55.00 is by far the best price I've found. Cheers. Westiemum
  14. Hi LLD, Mine took less than a week to arrive - and I've been sharing it around so will have to do a second order in the next month or so!! FTPO - sorry I haven't been around this week... its been a frantic week. My guys are doing brilliantly on this stuff - love it love it love it. I'm finding with my itchy paw girl the trick is also to make sure I completely dry her paws off with the hairdryer after I've foot-bathed her - this seems to make a really big difference (I dry the rest of her off with the hair dryer too but not so fussed about getting the rest of her bone dry as I am with her paws - and its helping enormously. I think its also a case of keeping at it for a while - bit like barf and jointguard - the effects are really good if you stick at it for a couple of months... I'm finding people are stopping me in the street (not unusual for beautiful westies anyway ) but I am getting more comments about their healthy shiny coats... so I must be doing something right!! Cheers Westiemum
  15. Gee I might try it - thanks Echo Cheers, Westiemum
  16. No probs Kayla1 - at least we know not to go chasing around other suppliers after it - vets it is. I'm a big Jointguard fan - my old boy does really well on it - but I am curious to know why the Glyde powder might work for your girl?? Must be the green-lipped mussel as well as the Chondrotin and Glucosamine?? Or does the green-lipped mussel somehow enhance the effect of the C and G? Did your vet say why she/he recommended it in particular for your girl?? Cheers Westiemum
  17. Hi Skwo2 I've been using the Value Plus Omega 3/6/9 from here - and hve been very happy with it. Hope it helps Cheers, Westiemum
  18. You could try Trent here - he's been able to get in special request stuff for me at excellent prices - can't guarantee it but it might be worth an email. Hope that helps. Cheers, Westiemum I can only get it from my vet unfortunately, I've tried pet supplies and online with no luck. Though if anyone knows of a cheaper supplier I would be very interested!!
  19. Poodle wrangler: Yep thats right - its a medical emergency and needs immediate vet treatment - my westie girl had it just on 12 months ago this comoing weekend and almost died. She spent three days and two nights at the vet (she was barking the vet down by the third morning). But I understand repeat episodes in the same dog are rare - so how would CS help?? No I'm not being critical - genuinely curious given I've had a dog with HGE. Anyone? Thanks Westiemum
  20. Yes Joypod - that's what I do - my westies get barf patties - half each a couple of times a week and RMBs - beef, marrow, lamb flaps. They get chicken necks for breakky - and its great to see them hoe into their bones - they adore them!! Cheers Westiemum
  21. My vet recommended Joint Guard for my old boy with an ACL repair, arthritis and generally wearing joints - and its been fabulous - he bounces around like a puppy on it and appears to be pain free. If I remember rightly it has something in it that makes it particularly digestible for dogs and is odourless so putting the right dose on their food is a breeze. Takes about 6 weeks for the full therapeutic effect to kick in (thats normal with all sorts of joint products BTW). I haven't used Sacha's Blend but I have heard it doesn't work as well. The cheapest source of Jointguard with the best service I've found is here - watch out as prices vary wildly. They can also get the Jointguard treats in for you too (its where I buy mine from). Hope that helps. Cheers, Westiemum
  22. Yes thats a good idea pebbles - stop my old boy hoovering chicken necks I put them whole, right in the side of his mouth, half in half out and haven't had a problem. I also give them to them whole but frozen - which really slows them down!! Cheers, Westiemum
  23. Thanks Wylie!! Might have to try it myself then, even though I don't have scalp problems!!! Volume is what I need!!! :D And its sooooo much cheaper than the salon shampoo I use too!!! So will be great having all family members using the same shampoo!!! ;) Cheers, Westiemum
  24. Peibe, I forgot to mention - watch out - this is seriously lovely shampoo - so much so you'll have trouble resisting using it yourself!!! And doesn't quite make bathing a pleasure but at least its more bearable!! The pooches really are extra spoilt!! And my guys coats are really lovely apart from all the other soothing effects... Cheers Westiemum :D
  25. Yeah no problem Dru - I'm such a DOL amateur and don't always get it right - but when I find something helpful I like to share and give something back - whether its cheap Jointguard and great advice and service or EPO shampoo and great advice and service. I know what you mean about a one stop shop - I now have only two websites I'm loyal to for doggie stuff - and in return I get great advice and service - its soooo nice not to have to hunt around for every last little thing. Greyhound Products Direct - Trent will get stuff in for you if he doesn't list it and his service, advice and prices are great. And you know all about Lynda and Groomers Products... Peibe will be really interested to see how you get on.... Catsmother the skin problems, scratching, itchy, red or allergic dog forum is a good idea to gather together all these itchy dog threads... there seem to be a lot of them lately... thoughts Troy??? BTW, is it my imagination, or are more and more people having trouble with scratching, itchy red and/or allergic dogs?? If so, anyone got any ideas why??? Is it just seasonal or is something else going on??? Cheers Westiemum
