My adopted dog Jemma also had a shocking case of Demodectic Mange. It got worse before it got better. She was on Ivermectin, and it took some months for it to disappear. The vet was amazed at the improvement in her. She now has a beautiful coat and is in excellent condition. Keep persevering!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. I, too, had a pet chook as a kid.....it's name was "Darling", and it used to ride around on my 3-wheeler bike.

These special darlings will always be a part of you.... I'm sure your new rescue will bring comfort.

You mention the fact that there are multiple tumours, and I think this is a concern. Even if the vet fixes the current problem, it seems likely that there could be similar problems down the track. I would clarify this point with the vet before coming to a final decision..If her quality of life is doubtful, I think I would (regretfully) choose not to have her suffer further. :rolleyes: This is a tough time for you, and these decisions are very difficult to make! Are there any problems with small fish bones if you are feeding raw fish???

Jemma is terrified of baths. :D I tried to do her in my laundry shower, which only has a curtain. During the ensuing struggle, I slipped, and ended up on my back in a very undignified position with a squirming dog on top of me and the shower hose doing wheelies in all direction!!! I was laughing so much it took some time to get myself out of the situation!! Then I hit on the idea of my bathroom shower that has sliding doors.....no there's no escape from the dreaded experience......so my 2 are showered. I certainly need one myself afterwards, and the shower recess gets a good clean too.....but it works well! Fido.
