  1. The stress has very much abated... I'd love to give bones but we live in an apartment and nowhere for him to consume bones... Seeing the vet tomorrow
  2. Thanks for the replies everyone Seeing slight improvement with slippery elm but still having issues. He has been on TOTW since birth (various flavours but salmon is his favourite). Any recommendations to change to? Will also try a probiotic as well. Back to vet tomorrow. Poor pooch, he is otherwise doing well and not stressed out anymore (showing more interest in baby, happily walks alongside the pram now etc.) - just want this poop situation resolved!
  3. Hi there, Long time lurker here seeking advice! We recently had a new baby and Milton, our beloved french bulldog took a while to adjust.. He is all back on track now except for one thing: he has very loose stools still. It started at the same time as baby coming home and there has been no change of diet (he's on Taste of the Wild grain free dry food and also gets a little pumpkin for breakfast feed and yogurt for evening feeds). The vet has ruled out any gastro bugs but put him on a course of antibiotics just in case which he has since finished but still no improvement. We are following up with the vet again and in the mean time i have been reading about Slipper Elm Bark. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice/suggestions/information? Many thanks!
  4. I've got a Milton here! Here is he is in his old man vest.
  5. The place I stayed at when i first moved to my current city had the nicest doorman whose name was Milton. My husband and I vowed we would name our future dog that because he really was the nicest man we'd ever met with such a great name..!
  6. hiya berly and Milton has Milton been on them since you got him ? I was thinking about trying the 2 pups I'm keeping on them He started on EarthBorn Holistic Puppy Vantage (as per breeder) but i switched him to TOTW when he was about 4 months.. HTH! Hope the babies are doing well!
  7. Glad Frodo likes it! It's what Milton is on too (although he is on the High Prairie formula)
  8. When Elena Zakharova looks into the eyes of her puppy as it suffers from bad knees and achy hips, she does not see a defective product to be returned to the store for a refund. The New York City resident believes Umka, her 1-year-old Brussels Griffon, is a living soul who feels pain and emotion. Now her attorney aims to prove it in court. Zakharova has filed a civil suit in a New York court against the Upper East Side pet store that sold her a puppy who went on to develop numerous medical complications. The suit seeks to hold the store liable for the dog’s pain and suffering, as well as its medical bills, as if it were a person rather than an inanimate product. Under New York law, pets are considered “property,’’ but the complaint is trying to change that definition. The ultimate goal is to help shut down the puppy mills, many of them based in the Midwest, that often mass-produce the animals sold in boutique pet stores like Raising Rover, where Umka was purchased. to read more: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/45873492/ns/today-today_pets_and_animals/t/woman-sues-prove-dogs-are-living-souls-not-property
  9. Milton looking rather dapper in his Christmas bow tie!
  10. At least people are asking out of concern (even if it is misplaced). I get stopped all the time asking if Milton is a miniature Frenchie (umm no he is a puppy). I also get asked where I got him from as they are "wanting a Frenchie but they are so expensive so wanting to find one for cheap" (i just smile and say try rescue and try not to take it personally - do i or my dog look cheap!?)
  11. This is one of my favourite photos of Milton, glad i have somewhere to post it!!
  12. From an Australian living in New York (who loves this forum!), may i introduce my new frenchie Milton! Currently 10 weeks old!
  13. Hi there, Where did you take them previously? I recently took my 2y.o rescue Maltese for his first hair cut (in our care, we've had him since early September and he came to us basically shorn) to Regal Boutique Salon on Pennant Hills Road (located between Carlingford Court and Village so right near you!).. I dont have anything to compare it to but he did a fine job although it did a really long time (but he calls when your dog is ready for pick up...). Might try someone else next time so i have something to compare it to but apart from that, he was well priced and pooch was happy and his bouncy self afterwards... It was a bit of a shock seeing him with such short hair again after being so fluffy for a while! HTH
  14. It's been one year to the day since i had to say goodbye And it still breaks my heart every time i think of you You were my best friend, the one i could always turn to I miss you so much Jordan, please know that i'll always love you Forever loved and missed...
  15. For Dry food only - You could use a treat ball that dispenses the food in small amounts as the dog rolls it around For Combo foods - Put the whole thing in a kong and seal it up and give it to the dog that way? Both ways make the dog work for their food and it makes it hard to scoff it down?? Try www.vetnpetdirect.com.au or similiar - i find it pretty cheapo
