  1. Looks like a photoshoped pic to me.
  2. Underground carparks in a storm surge area will be death traps. You'd be crazy to be in one in any of the coastal towns. Never knew about storm surges till now, ta Poodlefan.
  3. We saw the news too...so sad for anyone turned away from centres....they had no where else to go but back home...I wonder how full all the underground carparks were? Perhaps there needs to be more underground carparks or tunnels for people to be able to take their pets with them. I too believe in "No-one gets left behind"....we have a few Pug friends up there so really scary worrying about their safety.
  4. Oh ok didnt know there was a difference between clamping and cutting seeing how they both do the same job.
  5. Thanks for all the info....but taking the easy way and doing the Motel thing. Hope it isnt hot weather.
  6. Why would you do a vasectomy instead of normal desexing?
  7. Just spoke to one of my nominations and she knew nothing about it....are you still contacting people Steve??
  8. Cool..... friends are staying at a motel/pub but at $95 per night its a bit expensive for 3 nights. Do you put a note in with the entry or do you ring and book a spot?
  9. Who else is camping at Noorat Mt Elephant Shows?
  10. Comgrats Puglodge...where in Vic are you?
  11. Not if you tie it to the door of the crate! Qantas will only take brachys for short flights anyway...I think I will stick with Virgin.
  12. I had mated, helped the mating twice with a Pug bitch for her first and second time...no puppies....the third time now 3 years old we put her with the dog and left them together, I saw nothing happen, no interest by either party....but she was pregnant and had 4 puppies. Either that or prog test with a vet that knows how to read the number whether n/mol or ng. :D

  17. Thanks for making it easy for me to buy a few of each....Cheers
  18. Next time it may have been your sheep instead of a chook and a turkey....someone elses pets do not have the right to come and kill your pets. I know you feel bad but I know my partner would have done the same thing.
  19. Very informative, thankyou Stonebridge.
  20. thanks for finding the pics Steve...nothing better than pics to bring the situation to ones own loungeroom.
  21. Such a feeling of helplessness (is that a word) down here in Vic....but it was the same for the evacuating families in the fires....they were all not taking animals. I had friends that had decided to leave with their goats in a trailer, all they could do was drive around with no where to go. It is sad that it has taken such a large number of lost livestock and pets to prompt this evacuation law to consider the lives of our companions enough to warrant a change.
  22. So what exactly will these 'shows' entail? I've read that all dogs will have to be examined by a veterinary surgeon prior to 'exhibition' (very time consuming) and that the general public will be much more involved than they are at ANKC shows, but other than that everything appears to be very vague. Other than testing for working ability (possible, but will be difficult and once again extremely time consuming at an all breeds show) and ensuring that every dog can do the job for which it was originally bred (even more difficult as some of those jobs no longer exist) I cannot begin to imagine how one of your 'shows' is going to be conducted or what is going to be required of the exhibits. I would dearly love to know how the MDBA is going to show that wheatens are free from PLN by a veterinary examination. With some diseases you can't tell the dog is sick. Not true at all, I'm very interested in what some people have here to say. Otherwise I would not have persevered for so long. Lots of good info in this thread, mixed in with insults and silly comments. It is a matter of separating the wheat from the chaff. I just don't get upset by personal insults from ignorant people. Water off a ducks back. Funny, I was about to say the same thing ... Just the bolded bit....I think the public would much rather see a bunch of Pugs scooting around and playing than just sitting on our laps....because Pugs can do far more now than what they were originally bred for.
  23. Why is your breeder filling out the paperwork, do you mean the owner of the sire?
