We all need help sometimes finding the perfect homes for our puppies....I am sure the eventual owner of the bitch may like a few reccomendations for puppy owners from the stud dog. Just cos you like the dog doesnt mean he will throw that with a bitch. Why dont you contact the breeder of the stud dog you like?

Yes we have ours. Just tried to add all the show numbers to my OP and lost the lot.

I have all my numbers now...I will put the group numbers in the first post....the weather is going to be great for showing outside.

Big list of complaits about breeders not living up to your standards. I am sad you think so poorly of close to a million working border collies, their owners and breeders world wide, who do not breed to a physical show standard. The standard for these dogs is the work. I am sorry that you can not accept that different people have different dog breeding beliefs, and that does not make them or their dogs of lessor value. Please know that if 'they' come to shut down show breeders, I will be fighting for your rights to breed your dogs the way you want to breed them, even though you do not give others that same respect. A breeds standard is not a show standard.....If a working dog is not bred to a standard how then is it able to work....they need to be structually bred to a standard which enables them to do the work/function. Also dont generalize with the word "show breeders"....I dont breed shows....I breed Pugs and keep the best of the litter for myself to exhibit and sell pet puppies of the highest quality.

Since you have first hand knowledge of this abuse you need to report it. Can you please let us know you have done this. Well documented photos of a recent Puppy farm rescue.

Did you tell the breeder when you bought him that he would be home alone?

Make sure you take a bunny rug that he will sleep with at home to rub over his litter mates, leaving thier scent on it to comfort him during the night. Also put him in his bed next to your bed...dont shove him in a laundry or bathroom by himself.

When I read the OP i was laughing, laughing cos what I was reading was true....but then I felt offended because the OP lumped all breeders together, the fact that Puppy farmers and BYB's were in the "breeders" category was offensive to me and against all I stand for in ethics morals and integrity. We have had so much lately on DOL concerning Breeding and breeders and councils and laws etc that I think it has been flogged to death. And I think shortstep is very very clever in starting threads as he does and then bait and encourage people to post their opinions and use them for his purpose. It is such an individual thing, this breeding....I for one have such high morals and ethics and integrity that I make myself sick.....but thats the way I have been brought up and because of that I have ZERO tolerance for people that keep dogs in plastic crates tied together. I will never join as one with breeders like this that have no morals, no ethics, and no integrity.

I am trying a transcervical with my Pug bitch next time. I only know of one breeder using a surgical AI and she had great success. All you can do is ring the vet tommorrow morning and discuss her discomfort with him.

I would rule out everything...as soon as she comes in next time get a swab done to make sure she doesnt have an infection...and do prog tests to determine her levels.

The aggie show has been cancelled because Rochester was flooded for weeks....so I would presume the grounds are pretty rotten. If I had entered I would be ringing the show secretary and checking.

When I pick up a dog in Melb at Melb airport I am always asked for ID and asked to sign something. Most times it is my or the owners crate so I just pick it up and off we go. Oh and I would be really pissed off if I knew myt puppy was out of its crate being cuddled by strangers....you can fill the water without getting puppy out.

Just wondering who is going to Noorat? For the 3 days? Or for a day? Havent been before, staying in a house shared with a few of us in Mortlake. Looked at the long range forecast on Elders and it says HIGH chance of rain sat and sun.

Some of my pug mums have a couple of inverted nipples and pug babies are able to suck on these teats...so I would suggest lots of squeezing by you to incourage these teats while getting the puppies to suckle on them.

LOL its cos deep down we would all have many more breeds than we have.

If you have been a long time client ask to speak to the vet....if he/she says no then I think it is time to find another vet that will let you pay the bill off.

They dont grow up...my 11 yr old was still crab crawling...I too would have one in a snap if they still had docked tails.
