Hold her down, re-assure her, it doesnt take much colostrum for the babies to be full...but definately takes a few days for the milk to come down...I dont think a surogate would be any good as the puppies need the colostrum for the anti-bodies from their mother.

Its just with all this rain it brings out lots of worms...we lost 2 pug puppies to Hookworm in Qld last year.

Depends where you live...do you have Hookworm where you live? Was the mother wormed regularily during pregnancy? But they arent Pugs...so should be fine till morning.

Mine will still be the same...Pugs, Pekes and if the Anatolian ages with us him too lol.

Was this the little blue stafford with the massive price tag and riddled with mange? Did you get a full refund? Contact the CCCQ and ask them how to go about putting in a complaint - it will cost you $$$ though . Keep it well detailed especially any vet records that you had while the pup was with you and ask your vet if they could write a letter detailing the condition the pup was in and their recommendation that the pup never be used for breeding and anything in writing from the "breeder" stating that he/she was well aware of the condition that the pup was in. Good luck, it is breeders like them that make the rest look bad . Yes, i am the one who paid a ridiculously high price for a puppy riddled with mange And yes, i fully intend to put in a complaint about her, but am still trying to take her to court, to get my money back. As it stands, she has both the dog AND my money. hopefully the courts make her pay me, for the sake of being fair! And yes, it's PEOPLE like HER that make other breeders look bad I dont think the CCCQ are good on hearing complaints...friend of mine reported a lady for breeding with 2 dogs that produced a hip dysplasia puppy and got no where with them. The breeder has since mated the same dogs and produced a litter, oblivious to her responsibilities as a breeder and CCCQ member. So good luck with that staffylover.

Having Pugs I vaccinate at 6 weeks they go to their homes at 8 weeks...if a pug puppy is going to have a reaction to the vaccine it will be in those 2 weeks.

Is this whats going to happen now to all the unregistered Amstaffs and Pitbulls.

My first thought, what was the little girl doing outside...but the dog came into their house So so very sad for the mother, not nice pictures of her baby to have in her head for the rest of her life.

Talking to a friend today her pet insurance has gone down to only cover 80% but payments have stayed the same....so payments may have gone up with Petplan but they still offer 100% rebate...she is changing over to Petplan. :D

How sad. You were lucky you got the free insurance seeing how he was 17 weeks old, I am sure I have kept puppies a bit longer than usual and gone to do the insurance and havent been able to do it because the puppy was too old. Maybe they have extended the age limit. ETA...there is no way our elecrtic fence would kill a pug puppy...they must have had it connected straight to mains.

no i think what is being said is these dogs are being bought from a puppy farm for thousands of dollars???? so the farmer yet again wins big by selling to rescues so whoever they sell to doesn't matter to the farmer as long as they make their money. play on the emotions of the people trying to help the dogs. this wouldnt' help anything i don't believe it would only serve to encourage?????? where do the rescue get all this money to buy the dogs, when most are crying out for more funding? That is exactly what I said Toy dog. The pf now has more money to replace the sold bitch. Rescues dont have to have the money. ;)

Sorry to get you started I am not sure why you are saying? Are you suggesting that if rescue assist a female impounded who is due to whelp any second that that is wrong? What has that got to do with puppy farming? I can tell you now females that close in whelp at the shelter I volunteer at are not available for sale, they are rescue only. It is a stringent process and the scope of an appropriate rescue is small. Yes, they (and their babies in their belly) have been pts if noone is able to help them. What is the opposite of 'what should be done?' I will not ever support an unreputable rescue. No these bitches are straight from the puppy farms.
