Is it just my computer, or is there new format happening? All I get are the titles and who answers the topic. Each posting has to be individually opened. Can anyone throw some light on this. Terry

As of now, have had no response, just silence. Will follow up if I have not heard anything by tomorrow. Will ask why they want a spoodle because it may be the key to finding the correct breed of pup for them. Thanks for the tip T Time. Terry

Thank you for your input. Everything all of you have written I totally agree with. I am very familar with rescue, especially rescue organisations in Sydney. We own two dogs which we got as mature dogs. The first one a shelti/Kelpie cross from Hawkesbury pound, only had thirty minutes left when we pulled her off death row. She just celebrated her seventh birthday last week having been our best friend for six years. The second is a red cattle/jackrussel/corgi. Yep all those breeds in one dog. We rescued him from AWL two years ago and he will celebrate his 4th birthday this year. Wonder if he could be a new designer dog, except he is desexed. We think he is cute but don't know what spin of a name a breeder would call him, maybe corjaca. Maybe with that sort of breed we could get treble the price for him!!!!!! So, personally I will always own a rescue, just wish my circumstances were different so I could have more. Today I E Mailed my mutual friend to stop this woman from going to this puppy farm. Will let you know the response as soon as I get one. But surely 28 negative responses, must have some sway. Her eventual purchase will be a puppy, just hope whatever breed she changes to it comes from a reputable breeder. Terry

I am so pleased I posted on this topic as one of my main hates is puppy farmers. Thank god this woman has not paid them anything yet, but I do know the price Rivergum want for this pup is $850.00. I won't be able to talk to her till tomorrow as she was at a mutual friends house warming party when she approached me about her intending purchase as she knew I owned dogs. Having never heard of Rivergum I said I would check them out and get back to her via this mutual friend, which I will do and let you all know how I get on. Do any of you think it might be a good idea to give her dogsonline address so she can read all your comments. I personally think it would be very persuasive. My sole aim in this post has now become to stop this purchase from Rivergum. I agree, if this inexperienced family is to own a pup it should be 8 weeks and preferably a cocker spaniel, poodle or a king charles spaniel. The thing is they are inexperienced and this will be the main hurdle. I don't know the make up of her family, but where she lives in Sydney oodle type dogs are popular. If they are to get this particular type of cross I don't think it wise to get a pup from the clasified section of the papers, because I might be putting them onto BYBs. In an ideal world I would love for them to get a rescue, but I know she wants a puppy. Kchogan your points are very clear and I will use those points in trying to get her to change her mind, especially about the pup being 8 weeks old. Will keep you all informed as to what happens. Terry

Spoke to a woman last night who is very keen to get a spoodle pup. She is thinking of getting this puppy spoodle from a breeder called"Rivergum Designer puppies" The idea of any kind of oodle pup is far from my choice but this is what this woman wants and all I am trying to do is steer her to the right breeder away from pet shops, bybs, or puppy farmers. As most of us know these kind of pups are not in pounds or rescue and if so are very rare. I have an opportunity to steer this woman in the right direction. Maybe there is no need as I know nothing about "River Gum Designer puppies"and they may be indeed reputable. Does anyone know if they are a reputable breeder and if not who should this woman go to. She wants a 6 week old spoodle, no argument about it as her family has decided. This family has never owned a dog before and talking to this woman she admitted she is frightened of working breed dogs. Any positive suggestions? Terry PS I hope I am posting in the right forum.

Kangroo Meat For Pet Consumption.
terry f replied to WhiteLight's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I know our supplier gets 2nd grade carcasses from the abattoirs for pet meat......he eats the meat himself.! :eek:Have never experienced any worms or strange bits and pieces, but as I said I get fillets not minced. Cant bring myself to eat roo though. Something to do with spending years working on the Skippy series me thinks. -
Kangroo Meat For Pet Consumption.

We feed ours roo meat, amongst other things. Get it from pet food supplier in fillets and chop it ourselves,so are sure there is nothing else in it. The meat is beautiful and tender just about falls apart.Fed our dog with it for about 16yrs. The cat eats it too
