This might be worth trying: When we first got our puppy, we got a little water spray bottle and everytime he would bite us and our clothes he got told a stern NO and a squirt in the face. It took a while but one day it just clicked with him that NO means NO and now he doesnt bite us anymore or if he tries, as soon as he hears NO he pulls away

My Beagle is the only puppy experience I have had but as far as I know what your puppy is doing is fairly normal...there are a lot more experienced Beagle owners on this forum website who would probably know alot more about it...hopefully they will add some comments too. I am pretty sure most 9 week old puppies love been cuddled up to someone during the first week or so when they've left their litter (as they have been so use to been cuddled up to their siblings and mother) When we got our Beagle at 8 1/2 weeks all he wanted to do was cuddle up to either myself or my boyfriend. Our Beagle would cry a fair bit for the first few weeks when we would be out of his sight. Now he's 5 1/2 months, he only really ever cries when we leave him to go to work but the worst is when I get home from work he is at the gate crying...it goes on for about 10 mins :D. Beagles are very social dogs that prefer company.

Apart from that my puppy hasn't been too bad... -door mat -cables (cd player, earth wires for the house) -dining table and chairs are covered in chew marks -ripped up some of the carpet in dining room -a blind -drink bottle -likes chewing on TV remote

Ella sounds a lot like our 14 week old beagle- he too chews on everything!! And we've been told it's 'teething'. He prefers chair legs or anything else that he's not allowed to chew instead of dog toys designed for teething... ;) By the way,I love the pic of Ella, she's so cute!

I really like the Animal Hospital that we were going to take him to do puppy pre-school. The vet and vet nurses are really nice there and they all fell in love with our little guy. I had decided not to take our pup there for the 12 week vaccination, purely because the vet has had a lot of cases of parvo. I am trying to find a mobile vet that will come to our home but I have had no luck. (we live to far north of Perth I think) But maybe I should just go to that vet and make sure he stays in my arms. They assured me that any pups with parvo are totally isolated. I guess I got to think about the old saying though..."Better to be safe than sorry" Kelpie-i, in regards to "for your pup's sake, seek out a structured training/socialisation program from a professional school or club", We have been looking for some in our area for the past week, fingers crossed we can find one soon. We have a beagle so we undertand he needs some prof. training. Thanks for everyones advice
