Was great. These guys are a wealth of knowledge and it was good to see Little Dave and Sandy. A great clip of her before she lost her leg.

My boss looked at him briefly today. He has a lot of what I call "yeh but" spots. I think he has got away with a lot of evasive behaviour so carries on when you handle certain areas. Its not all pain as he does it when I know what I am dooing is not painful, like brushing where there is no knots. Such a big girl lol. When hes put on a bit of condition and of worked on allowing me to handle all over comfortably, I will get him desexed and probably take an xray while he is under. Temperament to die for with people and dogs so far

Hey Roz. I have thought of you often and wonder how you are. I'm well and still pop in now and again. Still have most of the dogs, lost my old goldie a year ago. Doing the NDTF course so I can further my behaviour work in my clinic. Thats one reason I took on this boy....plus, i just loved the look on his face.

He is such a friendly boy. Forgets his manners but working on it. Not housetrained grrr. He greets everyone like a long lost friend and has taken being told off by the others in his stride with no sign of retaliation. The only thing that bothers me is the back end. He is skinny and has no muscle but I am concerned that his hips arent good. Has a strange gait and loses his feet if he turns quickly. Hoping that building up strength and decent diet will improve him. Time will tell

He is fascinated by the TV

This boy arrived here today. He is so friendly and played with my other shep, a border and my swf. Am a little concerned re his hips but he has NO muscle and is very skinny so will give him some time to build back up to what he should be and get him checked at my work. Thanks to Blacktown pound (from the forum) for the pics and getting me some info on him, hope you dont mind if I post the pic you sent me but didnt get home till 5pm so no pics of my own yet

Herding Day For Beginners
melree replied to herding_guy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
This was a great day (always is) even tho' I am just there to watch and take pics. As someone who loves to watch dogs do what they were bred to do, I love seeing HG work with these dogs and see the joy on the owners face when there dogs "get it" Fantastic! -
As someone who has the chance to have the course paid for by my work, I am after opinions as to which one to do. I attended the recent seminar for Delta in Sydney (I am from Melb) and have mixed feelings about the limitations of positive only.

Hi Kath, Just thought I would let you know there is a behaviour trainer in Ballarat that our vet clinic recommends. I have seen her work and heard great reports from clients. If you ring Ballarat family petcare in Victoria St, they will give you her number. She may have some more ideas for you.

He will be waiting for you Rozzie. I cant imagine how hard things have been for you lately. My thoughts are with you

It is so hard, but the memories help. Running free, waiting for you

I am sure his last months were very special. You gave him a safe place to be, he was a lucky boy to have landed on his feet with you.
-
He was a special boy. This was one of his last swims as his hind end was getting a bit to weak to get out of the dam. I dont think I will ever be lucky enough to find one that I will feel the same way about. I miss him everyday.

So sorry Soniq. We are thinking of you today.

Two years ago today I had to let you go. It wasnt your time, even at 16 you still loved life and your daily potter. An accident made me have to set you free. You were such an easy going boy, never bothered by anything. In your younger days, you gave me so much pleasure training and trialling, going everywhere with me. As you aged, you loved my kids and were so patient with them. In old age, you just made me smile and were happy curled up by the fire with us. There will never be another Bozley. I miss you old man.

sorry, double post

Three of ours get the working dog and look great. The other 2 are on eagle pack, one because she had 3 feet of intestine removed due to bloat and needs the high quality. The other because she is a natural skinny dog and its the only food that puts weight on her.

Thanks everyone. She may have been little but she has left a big hole here.

Well done Clover and Elvis. You can stop being stressed now and just have fun LOL
