Pretty good! I wasnt nervous when i went on thank doG. He was excellent afterwards aswell!!! I am so proud!! We went and had an excellent time going on lots of rides and he was even very well behaved around the shetland ponies, he has never seen a horse before in his life!! We watched the daredevil motorshow thing and with all the super loud explosions he was fine!! I was freaking out at the fireworks, they were so lound and right on top of us, meanwhile Ramses is sniffing the ground looking for food!!! typical labrador Out of the whole day only 1 kid asked could he pat the dog and 2 ladies at a show stand asked was he a SHORT HAIR GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!!! i mean WTF!!! The rides were awesome and ramses was so patient. We have had a full day!! obedience in the morning , obedience in the arvo and then being walked around the show ground all night!! what a weekend we have had -

I have a 12 month old lab and he used to eat me aswell. When he did it i would say "uh-uh" in a very firm voice and remove myself from the situation. As he got older the gnawing on me started to decrease only because i would remove myself and cease all play as soon as i said uh uh. You need to be consistent every time she does the biting you, say a firm (without yelling at her) uh uh or no give her a toy and leave. When she has settled down go back and play more. As for the launch and attack. Ramses still runs and leaps about 2 metres out, he has bowled me over on a few occasions. I am not a small girl and for him to bowl me over at 6 months over was a shock If he did that i would grab his jowls and growl at him, because he would do it so often with his mouth open in an excited way. No aggresion what so ever he was just so happy to see me. He does jump on me occasionally once again i grab his jowls growl and leave. I go back out after 5 or 10 mins, enough for him to settle down so far it is working but these things take time pactience and most of all CONSISTANCY. Without enforcing the last point your going to have a very confused dog. Good luck!

Roo Meat - How Much To Feed
spoilt lab lives here replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Ramses was having roo mince, he was on it for a few days and got diarreah (sp?) I thought it was due to the change of food, I stopped feeding roo mince for a week to see if it was that. Within 2 days of no roo mince and just eating chicen and rice his runny poos stopped and after i put him back on dry food he was still fine, so the roo mince didnt go well with ramses. -
Yep sammy, i had a trainer tell me to do that. I tried it, he likes water so it doesnt work he eats through chilli powder aswell lol so when there is washing on the line he is in the run.

Yep when Ramses had worms the whole family got wormed. We all come into contact with him so it was only natural. No one had worms except him
-
Ramses had eaten gald wrapped chicken wings 2 of them I emailed my evta dn he said if he hasnt passed it in 2 days bring him in as he may have an obtsruction. He passed the glad wrap thankfully and is always trying to eat the roo mince right out of my hand plastic and all I guess they never learn

Pandii Im so sorry This is such a shock that a sweet little one like Ish had to leave so soon

In the wild, lower dogs in the pack lick the pack leaders face in a sign of submissiveness. The puppies lick the mother face so she can feed them. Your pup may just be playing. Im sure if your other dog is tolerating it so far she will definitly let the pup know when she has had enough. Ramses drags and pulls at Sasha's neck. Sasha is an Aussie terrier X JRT and is the size Ramses was at 8 wks old. She gets her own back at the end of the day and she is 11. Your puppy is only 4 months and as it matures the play between your 2 dogs is only going to get rougher So as long as you keep an eye on the play all should be good. Sometimes it better not to interfere

Oh warls Im so sorry. You have gone through so much this week and this is has to be the last straw

Collar Size For 8 Weeks Old Golden Retriever
spoilt lab lives here replied to laffi's topic in Puppy Chat
When i got Ramses at 8wks old he had one of those elastic cat collars on.. When i got him home i put a little puppy collar on him. I got it from petbarn and its about 20cms long. I now use it on my little dog Sasha as Ramses normally chews her collars this one is the only one that has lasted -
On the way to dog training with Helen and Steve, Ramses was the only one in the boot. There was one of those water well things it was empty. Ramses chewed the whole thing!
-
Ditto! and there isnt really any point in stopping it especially when you have a breed that love water! I have a 64 gallon drum cut into thirds and thats Ramses swimming/drinking/making a mess bowl and then there is the stainless steel vowl that my other little dog Sasha drinks from. If its hot there is no stopping Ramses he loves his water
