spoilt lab lives here

Oh yeh its started. Its horrible! He goes and his stomach goes down a bit then he blows back up and goes again. The farts ewwww!!!! He isnt panting or anything which is good, last time he did was a 40 degree day and he wasnt well. He has been seperated from the other dogs to prevent them playing and fighting and twisting and turning. Give his gut a chance to process it. He will be so devo without his dinner...too bad so sad i say right now!

I gave him small amounts of water frequently throughout the night and this morning he looks pregnant and sore and sorry for himself. Futuredogtrainer- he has done this a few times before and my vet has told me what to look out for and when to call. I was only worried about wether or not to give him water because he hadnt eaten so much in one go before. Bloody labradors! If its not his own food, he raids the bin! Sometimes I wish food drive was non existent.

How long is it likely to be before the food might be coming out the other end?

I was going to crate him but then thought about when he starts pooping it out....Other times when he has done this ive just given him half a bowl of water and let him be, monitoring him but not freaking out about it. However as far as I remember he hasnt ever been this fat! So am not sure. I have been going to check on him every few mins see how he is.

Anyone know wether or not to give water?

I put the food buckets inside and went out with Ramses on the verandah today. Came home he is giant, somone (wont point fingers :D ) has put the buckets back outside while ramses is still out there. So he has eaten heaps of his food as he doesnt have a stop button! Then my stupid partner has gone and fed him his night time meat on top of that!!!!!!!!!! :rofl: :D ;) Question is, let him have access to water or not? ATM he is confined in the dog run with only his kennel and a blanket. He has had a vomit, but being a lab has eaten it back up before I got a chance to get him away from it. Ive never see his belly so hard!

Thanks guys. I was trying to avoid washing him, as in getting him wet, but I bit the bullet and carried him through the house and into the bathroom His nails are long and damage the wooden floor hece the carrying. He was so filthy I ended up washing him anyway but now I have a leave in conditioner and his skin itch under control I guess it wont be so bad to wash him a bit more regularly. I am definatly going to be moving the dogs yard to an area where there isnt so muhc dirt! He needed 2 shampoos just to have the water run clear! He was that dirty! Now he is smelling beautiful all ready for our therapy visit tomorrow.

Leila (GSD) Has a very destructive tail as well. My partner brings her in of a night while he plays xbox and she just knocks everything off the table in the xbox room with one great whack My partner has now got the idea if he tidies up first there is nothing for her to knock off!

Ive done a search and couldnt really find what Im after. Ramses is a therapy dog and we go visiting each fortnight. I like him to be clean and smelling nice however the dogs yard has been turned to dust lately so he is always dirty. I am on the hunt for a dry shampoo that will clean him up and make him smell nice without the need for washing him. Does anyone know of a dry shampoo? I went to petbarn but they were no help and I ended up just getting a conditioner and was going to rinse him in plain water then condition the coat and dry him with the dryer. TIA

This usually happens with my cat. He lays on my chest or on my feet or right next to on top of the blanket and I cant move because I dont want to disturb him

My cat does a similar thing if we dont keep the toilet door shut.

How do you know it was human? If it was that is absolutely appalling!!!!

Sasha was that sick when the time came the vet hadnt even gotten the needle out of her leg before she was gone both mum and I stayed with her and said our goodbyes. When we walked out we had her soft bed, blanket and her collar. It will be 12 months on 17th May and I have her ashes and a beautiful photo of her sleeping on her blanket in the sun on my mantle piece. With Tiger my childhood cat I stayed with her until she was sleeping. Mum and the kids said their goodbyes at the vets but couldnt watch her go. I held her and she bit me when the vet put the needle in and when I left she was 'sleeping' Not fully gone but not here either. It took a while for her to go. I questioned mums decision at the time because she was having good days and bad days with her fits and the bad was slowly taking over the good although that day was a good day for her.

My Bfs mum reckons Tank was untrained and unruly too. Its what they are trained to do and behave in that situation. No point rocking up to a situation with a dog who isnt going to have your back. Especially when back up is a few mins away and there is a large weapon about. They are essentially trained to act that way to deter any one from approaching the officer. Anyone see the guy nearly get bitten when he wouldnt back away from the cops. The dog got close!

Thats devestating! I was relieved when Sasha was the first thing my brother grabbed when his room was on fire. He grabbed Sash and the 2 cats, shut his door and ran out.

We got the GSD girl desexed last yr costs $170 and that included her back dew claws being removed. I cant believe some of the prices being put out there! Insane!

I only know about RC German Shepherd breed food. My partner pays $30.00 for 3kgs and roughly $100.00 for 18-20kgs (I cant quite remember the size of the bag)

I have a 10 month old Male DSH. Ramses is not a cat dog but Suki is a dog cat. He loves my partners GSD and my housemates Beagle, Friend. Friend and Suki grew up together and get along great.
