English Springer Spaniel Willow's Story :)
spoilt lab lives here replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
The royal is just a normal entry for the dog show, albeit about double the price of a normal Sydney entry. But no qualifying or anything like the horses stuff. It was my first Royal this year with a dog in the ring and was great fun. -
Feeling Rather Useless
spoilt lab lives here replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
Take a deep breath! She is a baby, your both learning the ropes. You will get there. And you have the support of your girls breeders, they will help you and guide you, you just need to take it in your stride and there is always another show to get it perfect :) -
I bought a cheap ebay one 5 years ago when I did pet therapy with Ramses. Was around $200 and works perfectly for what I need it to do! I use it on all 3 of my dogs inc my show dog and no worries.

Oks Or C-Crate Show Trolley
spoilt lab lives here replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have a CCrate trolley and love it. Its heavier than OKS but its very sturdy and not a wobble in it! A lot of the oks trolleys Ive seen become wobbly. -
I was training my 9yr old Labrador this morning for a trial we have on the weekend and during the sit stay the thought of "he is looking old" came across my mind. He still loves to work and even though he doesn't work for as long as he used to, he still loves it and has a few years left in him. He is starting to get that old dog look though, greying face, the body starts to change. Did make me wonder if anyone is going to comment on the weekend. I have pulled him out of retirement for this trial

Safe Wetter Soil Treatment For The Lawn
spoilt lab lives here replied to Ivory & Beau's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am going to get the lawn fertilizer today! We have good thick grass but a few patches are a bit weedy and there is one patch in particular thinning out! Thanks for this thread. -
Yep annoys the crap out of me! Theres a man who walks a cattle dog in my area, all over our suburb completely off lead the whole time. Drives my dogs nuts when we walk past as this dog doesn't stay with its owner.

What Is Best, 2, 3 Or 4 Dogs?
spoilt lab lives here replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I currently have 3 dogs, but 2 is my ideal number. I can take 2 out together and be able to handle them easily and no one gets left behind. I currently have 9yrs, 6yrs and 1yr old dogs and the younger one adds such a young crazy energy to the yard  But 2 is preferred for me. -
Is 3 Dogs Better Than 2?
spoilt lab lives here replied to Dame Aussie's topic in General Dog Discussion
3 is certainly different, we added a third in May this year and its an adjustment. Adds a new dimension in the yard and because we have 9yrs, 6yrs and now a one year old the new younger energy is so much more noticeable  I find it hard to take all 3 out so usually take the younger 2 out together and walk Rams by himself. Rams refuses to play with the other 2 as he has slowed down alot in that regard but the shepherd plays fine with my field. 3 is different and we will eventually get back down to 2...maybe even one for a while and see how it goes although Ive never had just one dog before so I doubt that will really happen  Its not better or worse...its just different and its a personal thing too! -
Heartwarming Moments With Your Dog
spoilt lab lives here replied to silentchild's topic in General Dog Discussion
I love and adore the ease that comes with owning Ramses. We are a team and when we are working it feels like it! Since adding Patrick to the house I've really began to appreciate my old boy so much more and all the work I've put into him! -
I agree with Tris- it doesn't always happen that way. I've trialled in obedience with my lab and had wanted to get into showing for a few years just couldn't with my lab. I ummed and ahhed about what breed for a few years and all of a sudden I was at the right place and it was the right time and a field spaniel became available to me. He is a great fit in my yard and our first shows last weekend were great fun! I will be continuing in obedience with him but am having fun learning the ropes in the show world. Would never have picked a field myself before now, but so glad I've been introduced to this breed!
