  1. Our dogs too like to go out in the rain, which is a bit of a nuisance, especially when we've just mopped the floor.
  2. That guy is lucky he only received a slight graze!
  3. Geez dogs are sometimes disgusting creatures!
  4. Agree with everyone's comments (5 week pup sold - WTF?, worm infested to extrem - WTF?, purebred Staffy - WTF?) However, was nice of the lovely vet to help out using his dog. A sweet ending.
  5. I think this is a great idea and will be passing it onto my friend who would have no qualms spraying the little buggers.
  6. I think the only thing I would be concerned about is his temperature and the fact that he looked quite tired at the end... But in the beginning, he was definitely having a ball.
  7. Sounds lovely. Maybe you could bottle him and make some money!
  8. Aww, how could you not help the little pup, it is so cute! (Photo in link.) While I haven't given CPR, I would like to give it a go, should something happen to one of my dogs...
  9. It's a bit confusing (I couldn't work out who had fallen through the roof)...but it's a sweet story regardless.
  10. Hmm. I like to see a determined dog not be able to get past a chasity belt! I think the only way would be if it was made of metal...good grief. Not only that, it sounds disgusting! And, (on a roll here), what about all the dogs/pups that are put to sleep each year??
  11. We were going to put vinyl down for our dogs (the top of the range stuff that looks like real wood - thick, wide and long), but instead friends talked us out of it and recommended wooden floors that have been oiled. The look is great and our house value has gone up. Good thing is that if the floors get scratched, you just sand them back and they're as good as new.
  12. *Snortles.* Oh dear, that hardly looks large to me!
  13. I would definitely be teaching your pup to leave them alone. Just the weekend passed we went to QLD where our friends have a Goldie who completely ignores the cane toads, whereas our two boofas immediately wanted to chase them, which completely freaked me out. In the end my lovely friend would go outside (turn on the light first) and clap her hands until the toads moved away...I would also take our dogs out on the lead, better safe than sorry.
  14. That was great! Thanks for sharing! I especially love the part where you can just see the snow moving as the dog was going forward...it was straight out of a cartoon!
  15. Stories like this (what happened to Boof) breaks my heart. Why are people so cruel? Thank goodness Boof has found a new home where I am sure he will be well looked after and loved.
  16. Oh dear! I hope he recovers soon! That woman should be named and shamed. (I wonder if she's feeling any remorse?)
  17. When we got Henschke a spaniel, we were surprised at how little hair he shed. Now we have Jindi a female, and she sheds non-stop - we have little dust balls all over the place. We brush and use a Mars comb and still it comes out. Do females shed more than males?
  18. So sorry for your loss. Myra sounds like an amazing dog and she was beautiful to boot. Hugs to you and all who miss her.
  19. Silverblue - so sorry for your loss. RIP Misty

What a beautiful and heartfelt tribute. I'm sure anyone reading that would be hard pressed not to end up with wet cheeks. For the little I knew of him (from your website), he came across as a really special dog, with such a sweet temperament. He was a great ambassador for the breed. Hugs to you and your family.
  21. So sorry about your loss. Run free Buddy.
  22. Aww, your dogs look like such great mates, Becandcharch.
  23. For me it means having an affinity with a dog. I have had a number of dogs in the past, and of course I loved them all. But my current dog, Jindi is such a darling, so soft natured and a snuggler, that I consider her my 'heart dog', even though our other dog, Henschke has been with us 15 months longer than Jindi.
  24. The only time our dogs have a scrap is when a beef hide is in the picture. Everything else is shared, beds, dinner, etc. The only time they get a beef hide now, is with close supervision. Jindi might be top dog, but you wouldn't know it, she's quite good natured and only gets fiesty if it's something she can't gobble down quickly. Even chicken wings are eaten side by side.
