So sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful looking girl. R.I.P Paris.

That is one of the most beautiful tributes I've read. Sam reminds me of my own male dog, full of such character. I am so terribly sorry for your loss, he sounded like such a wonderful and special dog.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. She looked like the soul of the party. Run free, Zoe.

So sorry for your loss. She was obviously well loved. What a brave and difficult decision you made. Hugs to all your family.

Gosh, that would have given your mum such a shock! I presume Gert is OK?

If time wasn't anissue, we would do longer walks, i.e. 40mins or more. As it is, we currently do a short walk every day and take them to an offleash park (usually no dogs there) where they run around until they stop. This generally takes an hour. If their friends are there we will stay until they flop down or until our belly's grumble, whichever comes first and this results in the timeframe being from 1.5 hrs up to 2 hours. ETA that when we go to the dog park we walk there which is half hour there and back so the dog's get a big walk on the weekend (along with the off lead run).

It's pretty scary when your dog is attacked. Years ago a lab pup of ours was attacked by an American Cocker Spaniel. It was pretty quick and kept dodging our attempts to grab it. Only the owner coming up with a broom stopped the attack. More recently a bully raced across the road to attack our Field Spaniel pup - my husband's frantic cry (watch out) and the dog's growl warned me to pick him up (yes I know the wrong thing to do, but seriously all you think about is protecting your dog). Luckily my husband's yell brought the owner out who called the dog back, otherwise, who knows what would have happened. We have a mongrel stumpy tailed blue heeler that is always loose around our house and will go after our dogs. I have no qualms in throwing stones or anything I see if it comes anywhere near our dogs. I think that if the owner doesn't do the right thing, they should expect that their dog might get injured.

Thanks. Will send email.

We've tried frontline and hated it - so much stuff and it makes a mess. We have gone back to Revolution and today at the vet were told that Frontline is useless. I don't know why they sell it if that's the case. ETA - if we go to tick area we always use Advantix but I don't know what to do because you have cats (we don't).

OMG. The way she twisted the pup's neck and physically forced her around is revolting. I can't believe the owner didn't defend her pup and I am not suprised the little thing wouldn't go back to her. I thought the pup's behaviour was amazing, what a lovely little dog. I hope that this hasn't affected its temperament.

Great photos - love the outtakes! ;)

We all don rain jackets and go walking in the rain. When it's cold in the house, we rug up and open the front door so Henschke can see outside (he loves to watch the world go by). If it's really freezing, we let him into the guest room so he can still see outside but from the comfort of the guest bed, LOL.

How Fussy Is Your Oh Pertaining To Dogs Inside The House
poochmad replied to Moselle's topic in General Dog Discussion
My OH is a neat freak. Before we got our dogs he used to get really antsy about anyone making a mess. Having people stay was a headache as he used to get so tense. Now, he's done a complete change around! Although he doesn't like it, he's no longer stressing about the tumble weeds, the mud on the floor, the slobber on the walls, the hair everywhere and the chew marks on the furniture as a result of Henschke chewing the table leg, the dining room chair, the phone and the stairs as a pup. He also ignores the scratch marks on the front door that is produced daily by Henschke when we come home from work. He just cleans the door of mud/dirt and repaints periodically. However, we have both agreed that for people who like the house 'orderly', perhaps the choice of dog was not correct; in the future we will look at smaller, non-shedding breeds. -
Oh they were gorgeous! So sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and your family.

So sorry for your loss. My condolences.

That's terrible! That seems to me that they were only focused on the money and not the welfare of the pups!

She could have a soft palate problem or she could be doing what's called a *reverse sneeze*If you do a search in the health section, you will find plenty of information on the topic. Both of our dogs went through this just recently - it's a bit of a shock when it first happens as you the dog is choking, but it's since passed.

Loungefly - Mia is stunning! Love the photo with the pup!

I agree with the others - post your original question and don't worry about the fact your dog is a cross breed. All dogs and dog loving people are welcome.

Bunny Crushing Videos Stir Chinese Online Anger
poochmad replied to k9angel's topic in Dog Cruelty and Abuse News
There's no way in heck I'm watching anything like that and I had to skim across the news story. It just blows my mind how people get a kick out of doing things like that (I'm thinking drugs would surely have to be involved?) and I think the old bible saying should really be applied - an eye for an eye... -
It's a pretty sad story all around. The girl was being 'heroic' by helping the dogs and now the dogs will most likely be PTS due to the attack. Frankly I'm surprised that a mother would say ok to her young daughter to go after an unknown dog, especially one that size...oh and what about the fact that it was happening on a busy road??

Hmm, are you suggesting that it some type of fraud? That the 'breeders' claim the dogs were stolen (but really taken by their own people) and then profit again when the pups are 'located'? Interesting (and sick) concept.
