I'm not surprised there is an increase of people wanting a Kelpie after that movie...it's the same when any dog movie comes out, be it Hooch, 101 Dalmations, Beethoven, etc.

Considering how much a Cocker costs, you'd think they would take more care of it (if only for this reason). I always worry about seeing pups that are too young being walked on the ground, we were told to carry our dog until he was past his last vaccination.

If that's a 'Staffy', I want one! Sorry, he's definitely not a purebred Staffy. The reason I like the look of your dog is that he doesn't have that big round head, complete with the 'Staffy grin' that Staffy owners love. Your pup is lovely though, nice markings and cute ears. :)

No, they refer to their dogs as stock, rather than 'dogs'.

A lot of breeders use the term 'stock' so perhaps the caller uses that term thinking it is correct? I personally hate the term 'stock' as I think of all dogs as pets not as a commodity.

We use the same commands and I also agree that it's up to the individual for which command you use. There is no set rule.

Check out House Sitters that list people wanting to house and pet sit. Some of the sites are free for home owners. You get to choose through lots of house sitters who have reference checks, police checks etc. I'm thinking of using them this year when we go away for 6 weeks.

Agree. My thoughts are that if the place has violated their requirements then a complaint should be put forward to the council who in turn contacts the RSPCA for an inspection and back around it goes.

I would support a petition to stop all puppy farms not just one. Closing them down...they will just start somewhere else. Also, I'd like more information on the place, rather than reports that aren't backed up by evidence. How do you know it's not a legitimate business?

Jindi who is scared of everyone I ignore. Henschke the male, has at times picked up when I've been a bit nervous if a guy has come to the house when I'm alone. He once stood between me and a tradesman and growled. At the time I didn't react (neither reprimand nor a pat), but he has only done that the once. Generally with men, he's a bit funny with them, even our friends, so I wouldn't take his reaction on board either.
