So sorry for your loss, he was a beautiful dog and so very lucky to have had love in the last year of his life. RIP Oakley.

I admit, I was a bit shocked when I read of his passing in the rainbow thread, as it was 'easy' to forget that he had a debilitating disease that would one day take his life, due to the numerous posts of him being a (normal) dog and his funny antics. He certainly was a unique character and he was such a lucky fellow to have made his home with you. The dedication that you have shown over the years in your attempts to help him and ease his pain has been truly awe-inspiring. You are both terrific. I'm so glad that you have added to your family; while they may not fill the void of Charlie's passing, they will help ease it.

I can't believe I'm reading this...when I saw the title, I thought...no...but unfortunately it was a yes. I'm so dreadfully sorry that he's passed, I have watched his story for a long time now. You were wonderful parents and gave the very best to him. My thoughts are with you in this sad time.

That wax really cute. Thanks for sharing. :)

We had our boy desexed at three and boy was he sore! We thought it would be a simple procedure as per a six month old pup, until the vet educated us. For quite a long time you could see the sac, although it was emptied, but now it's closer to his body and you can't even tell.

How gorgeous are they! I love that you also have brown Dobes. They are my favorite colour. :)

Dogs Not Restrained In Moving Vehicles
poochmad replied to Mystiqview's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sorry about Faith, hope she heals quickly. The other day my sister rocked up with her dog just sitting loosely in the back seat in her bed...she has a harness, so no excuse. The only way I could get her to put her in was to tell her it was the law and Goulburn is the last place you want to break the law (due to the number of cops). We never have the windows open due to flying debri. Also, I hate the noise of a window down when driving. -
How Do You Amuse Your Dog When You Are Sick?
poochmad replied to Staffyluv's topic in General Dog Discussion
Our dogs are very ggod, thank god, as I can't walk them without my husband due to a back injury. They are quite happy to lie around and sleep. I give them lamb shanks which they chew for 3-4 hours and open the front door so they can see the people walking past. They might play together every now and again which also helps. -
To all responsible dog breeders: I think these posts are really good at educating puppy buyers, including me. As a non-breeder, I have no idea what you go through and now can fully appreciate everything you do. So from a future puppy buyer, thanks. :)

Bull Mastiffs Attack Mother And Children In The Uk
poochmad replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in In The News
Those poor girls, they will be traumatized. Goodness knows how long it will take for them to get over it. What a horrific and frightening thing to have witnessed. Thank god, the dogs are dead. The owner's dogs need to be looked at - isn't this an odd behaviour for BMs? Aren't they bred to pin down but not bite? -
Both are beautiful. Will be good to see the finished product. :)

Personally, I find it terrible that people are so flippant about their children. How many times have we seen this happen? Dog comes along and goodbye children. People shouldn't be allowed to have children if they think they are so disposable. It's disgusting.

On Dogs 101 they had a segment about Tibetan Mastiffs and how they are a show of wealth. I'm surprised that he wanted the dog to have skin removed as it appeared that the dogs with more skin were highly regarded.

What sooks! A little bit of fun in a job that is so difficult. It would be silly if the officer got in trouble.

Is the dog one year old, or you've had her for one year? If the dog is young, yes definitely I would do the surgery. Is there any reason you are hesitating?

The problem is though, that reputations are being tarnished by this notice from PR. Whether it's true or not from the FB followers is not offered; they are only focused on the scandal or the information that is fed to them.

Thanks for explaining the links thing as I received an email with 50 million facebook links and I had no idea the what or why...now I do. :)

I wouldn't do it for fear of my dog being stolen. Also, Henschke the male can be a bit wary if approached by a strange man and has barked at them until he feels comfortable; this is just a confidence thing. I would be worried that someone would interpret that as him being 'dangerous' and my dog would be labelled incorrectly.

Thanks Powerlegs...normally I wouldn't post names, but if I was in that list, I'd want to know, especially as I'm hardly on Facebook. Will definitely not become a part of it - let them sort it out themselves. ****** Off topic: It seems to be the thing to do these days - i.e. slur people publically. Very risky behaviour, from a legal and reputation point of view.

Awsome photos! Looks like everyone had a blast. T, are any of those dogs foster dogs and looking for a home? Just curious... -
So sorry for your loss, Pers. He was a beautiful looking dog. RIP Hamlet.

Me too. I love happy endings. :) That was really nice of you to take the time to explain it to her and by showing that little bit of kindness you found a dog a home.
