  1. So sorry for your loss. She was a beauty.
  2. That dog certainly meant business. I think because it didn't have hackles up or anything and then was shaking its head was truly horrible. That cat was amazing! I note they said the dog has been quarantined - is that a new term for put down?
  3. I love Red Pandas, they are so gorgeous. :)
  4. Gorgeous photos. Using the blue backdrop is genius! That first photo is stunning.
  5. We use Ilium weekly and skirt it down so it goes all squelchy when rubbing the ear. Both dogs have floppy ears and we've never had a problem. Though, if the ear was red and smelly, it would be a visit to the vet as we've had trouble with yeast infections with the male.
  6. I believe it is $0 cost. You could always give a nice gift. That's what we do whenever someone looks after the pooches as they are doing us a huge favour.
  7. Labradors, Jack Russells and working breeds. We live in a country town.
  8. Am I the only one who is grossed out by the thought of all those pets sitting in 'stuff'?
  9. Very cute. The ball playing was my favourite. :)
  10. That's terrible to lose her so young. Your poor MIL.
  11. Up close, the male turns his head if you stare at him, while our female licks us on the nose. Both of them are fine from a distance and watch our every move.
  12. It's probably a good thing he didn't try to come down, what if he lost his footing. Love the photos and the story. :)
  13. Our Field Spaniel Henschke was scratching himself so much he was making himself bleed. We tried using all sorts of shampoo, changing his diet, but nothing worked. Until we went to the vet and he suggested adding olive oil, a tablespoon a meal. It's taken a while, but now his coat is soft and shiny and he smells great! I've found the Woolies green bottled oil to be the best. I no longer put a tablespoon in, he gets roughly a dessert spoon now and he still looks good.
  14. She's stunning. Black and white dogs are my favourite colour.
  15. What a horrible thing to go through, you must have been terrified. Hopefully your dogs aren't traumatised by it and don't become nervous of other dogs. Dog walking is meant to be enjoyable - you shouldn't have to worry about what's going to happen every time you step out your door. This is one of the reasons I refuse to walk the dogs on my own, that and I have a crook back; I'd be stuffed if something happened on my own.
  16. Our dogs are included. Friends of ours have agreed to take our dogs. The thought of them going to the wrong home made us sure they were included.
  17. Me too. :D What a great idea, would be a nice keepsake.
  18. We've never referred to them as furkids, though my husband jokes about the dogs taking after us and my mum refers to them as her hairy grandkids, which I think is cute.

That's so sad. So very sorry for your loss.
  20. What I'm interested in knowing, is why did it attack? If the baby was asleep, what happened to provoke it? The only thing I can think of was maybe it was interested in the nappy? Regardless, a terrible tragedy. Poor baby and poor family having to live with this.
  21. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who sleeps with my dog. We have a queen sized bed, but it's not big enough for the four of us, so Henschke sleeps on my day bed that cost $1800 and was custom made, while Jindi sleeps between hubby and me. He grumbles about it, but I love it. Except for when she farts and she always sleeps with her butt facing towards us. Not nice.
  22. They are a mix of Collies and Shelties. I liked it, very organized.
  23. I thought it was funny and didn't see a dog distressed at all. By the way the owner kept talking to him and not following through, says to me they are used to the dog doing it.
