  1. K9: You have 4 pics up there in order, I have tried them all, the only one I like is pic number one , & yes I have them...
  2. K9: Thanks Guys for you feedback on the DAP.. I too am trying to separate the results between the DAP & the other programs I have supplied, I havent given out the DAP only. The other variable was how much exposure to the DAP the dog has, how much time the dog spends inside the home vs outside. There are oudoor products but I havent tested them at all.. I dont like to add anything to my lines I cant say for sure I have tested & it works well.. I will call in for some result updates & see how I go...
  3. K9: Its very difficult to internet train any thing, especially Training in drive stuff, sometimes what sounds like its right & its the total opposite & I wouldnt want you going wrong...
  4. K9: I have no idea why you think I am under some obligation to answer your questions. K9: Im tired of your constant trolling with absolutely no interest in furthering these discussions... K9: Then dont be, I cant see where anyone is asking you too? K9: Maybe you can show me where I said I know everything? & no, your input is not valid... K9: I havent said this either, but you seem to have trouble reading... Do you think an experienced surgeon needs to know the angle that the scalpel is sharpened to use one? K9: Your 100% right on that one... K9: Hey just resist that urge you have to come back... Your trolling actions are obvious, Im surprised your still here...
  5. K9: yes well from a training perspective he has possibly a level 7 or 8 / 10 value for dogs, aggression would just be a level 7 or 8 / 10 in the negative. The closer you are to zero the easier training is...
  6. K9 I have been known to make the odd good point... K9: ask yourself why he doesnt pull to get to humans? what stopped him... He see's dogs as a higher value, ie level of distraction & he needs to have further training to & beyond that level of distraction.. K9: Never know your luck in a big city....
  7. K9: its one of the aspects of it yes. K9: thats great, so why then does he pull the Alpha along on leash? ever thought about that? Your dog seems to have a high value for other dogs, he will need to have that value adjusted & it will be difficult to do without aversives...
  8. K9: these comments from Robert I am sure are based on the use of a high level correction... Not low stim method. K9: if we want reliability & there is a need, yes. K9: when a dog has found a behaviour self rewarding & the behaviour is undesireable. K9: I didnt invent the word, but I would suggest that it stimulates the dog into understanding the current behvaiour is negative...But you might ask the person who attached the word originally, I use it as it is a recognised international term. K9: I dont. K9: I suggest you buy one of each & begin performing some tests then. K9: the last conversation you had was telling us how you were the expert, I think your words were, "ask me, Im an expert"... K9: but there is absolutely no reason for me to perform these tests, I am not a physio nor do intend treating sporting injuries... Send your enquiry to the e collar manufacturers, see what they say, but dont be surprised if your email ends up in te nut bag file... K9: I wont argue to or for these sheets, however I have persoanlly seen many dogs have an adverse reaction to citronella, I didnt need a sheet to see that.. K9: Firstly, what you would like to know is of no interest to me, secondly you have told us all how well trained your dog is & you have no need for either citronella nor electronic collars, you have also told us how you designed an electric fence in the past & that you dont think e collars are all that different, in fact I remember you whinning about regs you had to pass that e collar people didnt. Having that said, if you have no intention of using such a collar, why do you want to know these things, & why do you see to think that we need you in every e collar discussion that occurs here?
  9. K9: do not use this even one more time, dogs can develop obessessive compulsive disorders & these can help do that...
  10. K9: I have just checked numbers & the 4 Paws (19th) still has a couple of places....
  11. K9: I believe the 4 Paws one on the 19th is full, the Ballarat one 17th still has a place or two.. K9: yes, but your hoping the dog will trigger into enough drive withoutthe need for drive building, even in the early stage... K9: Firstly throwing the ball is throwing away the reward, the other differences are too techical to explain here... K9': yes..
  12. Being in Vic you would benefit from one of the Training in drive workshop I am having this November.. One is sold out, one still has places... K9: sure, many people have the dog work an ob routine & THEN get out a tug toy etc, this is rewarding to the dog but it isnt working the dog in drive... I build drive with the toy, then get the ob, then give the reward, the dog is in drive all of the time... K9: no the ball goes out of site in the end too...
  13. K9: yes you sure do, slightly evelvated is ok too.. K9: you can swap ok to the bridge word & yes as the release.... But you need two... You need to teach the dog that those two start to have time between them so that you can maintain the length of time the dog is in command... K9: This is an indication the dog lacks trust... K9: she probably feels the food could be taken from her, so watches/guards the resource, the TOT usually fixes this... K9: start them with no other dogs around, doesnt matter which one.. The tie out is essentail, as you want the dog to see that your not keeping it from the food, the tie out is, you help the dog... IE your not withholding anything, but helping win... If you hold them back with Alpha Pressure, the reliability will be based on your proximity to the dog...
  14. K9: Ideally, one dog in training area, thats the best way to start, trained dog cant hear or see others... K9: Two handlers will have different requirements for the dogs to win the item, this can make the dog confused. The dog will become locked to the handler that does this work... K9: This isnt training in drive the way I do it, this is called using a drive as a motivator, I havent found this to be the best method.. K9: transferring to a new toy isnt hard once foundation is done, just swap & the dog will catch up, its best to chose a replaceable toy though...
  15. K9: trust me, your not being slammed. I think that you have a method thats somewhere near opposite mine, & thats perfectly ok.. You have to understand people are trying to learn from this forum, & when you post things that are direct opposite to mine, then say they are the same or similar, they will bring confusion. & the people who have got results using my methods can clearly see that there is a large difference, & I guess this is frustrating to them... The idea is use what ever you like, good work on getting the results you have... But the terms your using & descriptions you give are all back to front, & if your not teaching anyone, thats ok too, it took me a long while to be able to teach someone what I know, long time after getting the results with many dogs... Example: ,K9 this not prey drive, its food drive, unless the bowl is scooting around the floor... K9: Its not so much the problems you will have, its the problemsyou can have, I am talking about thousands of dogs going through training... Some are easier than others, some people die from smoking, others do not.. The amount of time training can also be increased, & you must consider that the recall excercise isnt terribly complicated, when you add casts, seek backs & many other things, you need a very clear headed dog, so the drive reward must be clear... So if you had tried to extend your training you may have had problems..
  16. K9: Rags are a good start for a ''''baby puppy", seven weeks to 12 weeks, but then progress onot a bite roll or small orbee ball, the dog being clumsy with it will go away...
  17. K9: thanks I have a few dogs I am monitoring, & many of them have shown great results with the DAP, some have not, I am trying to study where the effectiveness lays before recommending/selling them...
  18. K9: there is no way to know, other than observation to see how long the effects last... There is some evidence to support the theory that leaving the home calmer makes for a less anxious walk. As a side note, before I stock anything I test it rigourosly, I have to believe strongly it is a good product or I will leave it to the pet shops... I havent sold any of these, but am communicating with approx 30 people trying them. The results are varied at this point but are looking more positive overall..
  19. K9: very few people bring Labs for Personal Protection Evaluations...
  20. K9: the dogs should go to the toilet when your there, if not there is a leadership problem.. The behaviour could develop because the dog has to "good" place to go to the toilet, as you cant re inforce the right place, & finally when your dog has to go, the dog knows it has done wrong. When you run a NILIF or my 4 quadrant dog training program , or my TOT, then stop it, the dog see's you drop your leadership & loses trust in you... This can cause a lot of anxiety for some dogs... Anxiety can cause a lot of dog problems... If your dogs spends a lot of time inside, you would probably get some value from a DAP Defuser, at $80 - $100 they can be a good investment.. If you email me I think I have a few that were sent to me to test, I may have one or two left, I will send it to you no charge, as I said I dont sell these as yet...
  21. K9: tell us about the pool? what pool, how often is the water changed, how many digs swim / get in it... What state is the stool in? three options here, liquid, semi, hard. How do dogs interact with you there, when you leave... The changes to the dogs routine will effect softer dogs & dogs more reliant on you than others... When toileting, for now, only focus on the good side, always reward the dog toileting in the good places...
  22. K9: seems your barrow is full of attitude... K9: evidence shows the no bark collars that are electronic have a greater success, does that answer your question? Here is an article that may also help... K9: no this is incorrect, citronella is a poison, the MSDS on my web is put out by the people who produce citronella... It is harmful.. I have seem many dogs loose hair on their face & have extreme allergic reactions to citronella. Snobbybobby, you have changed your name from Henrynclo, under that log in your troll actions seemed to draw you attention, changing your name hasnt changed your attitude... Your were, & still are, a time waster that adds nothing to the conversation...
