  1. I'm guessing you've already trawled through the rescue section so I'm just here to wish you best of luck
  2. I am so very, very sorry for your loss, Cas, I just saw this & cannot believe it is true. for you & your family xoxoxo Run free at the bridge, Jake.
  3. They don't have it for cats at the moment, but they are working on it, my vet told me. I think it's a fantastic product, Bertie has had no trouble with it. I think it's very important to remember to give it WITH food. And it says chewable...but I don't take that chance, I don't think Bertie would eat it left to himself.
  4. Can you post the location of the dog friendly camping ground in your thread title, eg looking for recommendations for a boarding kennel Rainbow Beach area?? That might help a bit more, I think you would be happier just boarding him for the 2 days, it sounds like
  5. That's terrible. Maybe what Souff said about the licensing?? For anybody who breeds? Can't believe the RSPCA has no ombudsman, that should change immediately. I am not against them, but no-one should have that much power, unchecked. Regulations already in place concerning conditions to be more enforced. Things like the above council regulation need to be changed though. As a parent, I wouldn't be welcoming surprise home inspections from DOCS just because some numbnuts a suburb away can't raise children without beating them. I couldn't see any parent welcoming that.
  6. Awesome!! (Do you want to add Comfortis to your comparison chart?? Most excellent for fleas Says it is a chewable, but Bert will only have it if you do the shove-down-the-back-of-his-throat thing )
  7. Thanks Elenbah, I was just looking for an easy way to post on FB ;) I will cut & paste, thanks.
  8. Is there a Facebook page for these guys? If so, could you link, please?
  9. My boy licks his paws, the vet said that is common in older working dogs, because of the stresses of 'propping' on their forepaws while working. Although yours doesn't sound too old??? But yes it can definitely be an injury thing
  10. :D I Gert too, she should be an inspiration to us all
  11. R.I.P. Vader So sorry for your loss, Steve & Vader's Mum & families.
  12. JB She's a very smart lady, I noticed
  13. My old boy just started a series of cartrophan (sp) injections, he will have one a week for four weeks then just a top-up every 6 months. It was very cheap too, $100 for the four shots. He is also on Paw Osteosupport, but next time I will try that linky, thanks spottychick And he gets sardines, pink salmon & tuna in his diet.
  14. If you look in the Lost & Found threads, you may notice some heartbroken owners continuing to search after a long period of time. An undesexed dog wouldn't have much difficulty in getting pregnant while missing.
  15. Breakaway collars..............breakaway. Microchips......move around. Absolutely.
  16. From my point of view in the peanut gallery, this is a terribly important thing that I never, ever had any inkling about. (Until I came here ) I think this would be an enormously important point to get across in words of 3 syllables or less, if possible
  17. Lemon juice or vinegar, I've heard, to neutralise some urine smells. Haven't got a pet loo though Worth a try. Although I'd be keener on the vinegar, not sure if full-strength lemon juice would bleach the grass.
  18. Freezer bags still leak They just aren't ziploc fastened.
  19. Tupperware dont make Freezer Mates in Australia any more. Sorry you are all out of luck but I think some people sell them still on ebay from overseas.
  20. I use Glad ziploc. I hate the b & g ones, they're impossible to open without tearing.
