  7. I have seen these baths on sale at the Warehouse about 6 months ago. They were about $70 I think. They were not any more than that. I know they are not their usual stock, but maybe keep your eye out in shops such as this, and the Reject Shop.
  8. I love all the work you people do, and your dogs are all beautiful. You are all very clever. And, I would like to say a big thank you to my daughter (Jaznmont) for making my sig. I think she did a great job.
  9. I hope Boris is feeling much better today. He looks like a beautiful boy.
  10. Yep, they are human tablets from the chemist. They have been around for many years, I used to take them as a kid for hayfever, when I was about 12yo. I am now 47yo so they are quite safe. I give my boy 1 tablet when he looks a bit red on the skin. I use the 2mg tablets. I think you can buy stronger ones as well. The vet told me I could use 1 tablet twice a day if needed. If you ask at the chemist they should help you. My chemist tells me a lot of people buy them for the dogs. Good luck ruthless, its a nightmare going through the skin problems. Very frustrating. Hope this helps you.
  11. Hi Ruthless, I have a Staffy boy and he started with the red stomach last night. I just give him a Polaramine tablet, 2mg, and it goes away. I was told that I can give him one morning and night if needed. You can buy them from the chemist, over the counter. They are antihistamine. It might work for you. I think it just depends if that particular tablet suits the particular dog, otherwise there are other brands of antihistamine you could try if it is an allergy. Good Luck, I know how frustrating it can be. I use them too. Such a bad time of year for allergies.
  12. And yes, it was bright red. I think it must drain for quite a while and has to come out somewhere, or maybe absorb into the body. The eye socket on my dog has changed over the months since the op. At first it was just smooth without a dent where the eye had been. As the time has passed, it is now quite a dent, so I think it probably drains and adjusts for quite a while. It doesn't look bad, and the hair grew back very quickly. Hope this will put your mind at rest a bit.
  13. Hi Cowenbree, my whippetx just turned 16yo and she had her eye removed last April. She didnt have any gauze packing in the socket. Her eyelids were just stitched together. Thinking back, she did have a small amount of blood discharge from her nose for some time after the op. I often noticed it as droplets on the elizabethan collar. I think that it went on for a while, probably longer than a week, on and off. My poor girl picked up kennel cough while she was at the vets for her operation, so I thought the bleeding was due to the poor thing coughing at first. She had to stay at the vet for quite a few days before the operation could be done. I hope your dog is doing well and makes a full recovery. My girl is old but I must say she has been so happy since her eye was removed. She previously had glaucoma, went blind in that eye,and damaged it. Good luck, please let us know how she is progressing.
  14. My whippetx Daisy, turned 16 recently. She can hold on all night but does the same as your dog after she has gone to the loo the first time. She also does it at night time, around 7pm. It is like she knows that she goes to the loo at this time but forgets that she just went.......so tries to go again. Also, her behavior has changed in that she has never really liked strangers. Now, when we go for our walk each day, if she sees someone on the footpath she actually tries to go near them and wants them to pat her. If they don't pat her or acknowledge her, she looks a bit disappointed. Until about a year ago, she didn't want to know about strangers. She too is going deaf, and had an eye removed last April due to glaucoma but can see out of her remaining eye. She has also been on Fortekor for her heart since 2001, but is still going strong. She has no joint problems at all, still moves very well. She has always been scared of the vacum cleaner. Today, while I was vacuming, she kept deliberately standing near the motor part, and staring at me while wagging her tail. It really looked like she was saying that she was confronting her fears. lol. No, seriously, she has done a lot of big turnarounds behavior wise in the last year. I think it is an age thing, must be. Apart from the strange behavior, my Daisy seems really happy, and I think she is enjoying her golden years. Good luck with your Pebs, I think the oldies are just beautiful.
  15. My adult Stafford is a rescue, so we had no history for his health. He used to do this quite a bit. He was wormed and had his glands checked. We had no idea why he did it, but one day at a function we saw Dr Harry. We had Monty our dog with us, and asked him if he had any ideas. He said to use human haemorroid ointment called Proctosedyl from the chemist. We used it for about a week and the problem seems fixed. I would still check with the vet though, especially being so young. This ointment does contain hydrocortisone.
  16. And as if she would not notice the paws or the smell. If the dog had been bum scooting that much, you would think she would realize it isn't normal and investigate. She must not touch and interact with her dogs very much. Oh boy, I hate some people.
  17. Good on you for telling these people. I agree with what was said previously, why would you spend money on grooming and not on other basic care as well. They obviously have the money. Makes you wonder if they have some sort of sadistic streak in them, or some sort of psych problem.
  18. Hi! Can someone pleassssse make me a sig with these pics of Chance off of homeward bound cause im just made on him lol ;)
  19. Good luck with the vet tomorrow. My dog had something that looked similar many years ago. Appeared out of nowhere. The vet called it something like, "diggers nose". Something that came out of the earth from digging. I had to use the drops which are used for ear mites, applied to the sore. It cleared up really quickly and never returned. Hope you find an answer tomorrow.
