Grover Is Really Sick - Another Change
sumosmum replied to Trisven13's topic in General Dog Discussion
So sorry Grover is unwell. Fingers crossed things will pick up for him now he has treatment. I had a similar thing happen with one of my dogs years ago. After playing ball, the same thing happened. She lived another 7 years after that on medication, to 17yo. Once on meds, she was very happy and lived a wonderful full life. I hope and pray you have the same outcome with dear Grover. Fingers crossed and healing vibes from us. -
Yes, definitely with or straight after food. I would give it in food too. I am on it long term, and it tastes revolting if it starts to dissolve in my mouth. They dissolve really fast too.

You could try adding some natural yogurt to his meal. Works wonders.

My old GSD had a dreadful problem with flies. Septicide was wonderful. It had a lasting effect, seemed to last a few days keeping the flies away once it was applied. Highly recommend it. Also, it had a great healing effect if the ears had already been bitten.

Bokezu, I am so very sorry. RIP Jordy, beautiful boy.

Awww, just gorgeous. -
If you have Chemist Warehouse near you, I find them very cheap for Polaramine. I take Polaramine as well as my dog at times. The 2mg tabs are the ones I buy. I just thought I might mention for anyone reading the thread, DON'T buy the stronger 6mg tablets as they are not meant to be cut, thus making dosage for dogs difficult. They have a slow release formula type coating on the outside which should not be cut or broken. I read this information just recently, by chance, and thought it was worth a mention.

Tammy is just gorgeous. Very special, the oldies. Well done Cazstaff. :p My old girl left last year, she was just on 17yo. Daisy was WhippetX so never a fat dog. She had heart failure for the last 7years of her life, but it was treated well with medication. Whenever she looked like she was getting a bit too thin, I often found that chicken necks helped her gain some weight. For the last 6months of her life that is what she mostly ate for dinner. The other thing she liked was boiled sausages. I know it sounds strange, but she enjoyed them and they seemed to help her keep a bit of weight on. She looked similar to Tammy and had that lovely smile. Sometimes for dinner she would have 8 large chicken necks. It also helped to keep her teeth in decent condition. It is so great to see the amount of people who enjoy the oldies. Beautiful oldies that they are. -
I have used Polaramine with success for grass type allergies. Here is a link to a guide about dosage. It doesn't mention Telfast, but if you know the proper name of the drug, it may be used in one of antihistamines mentioned on the list. Antihistamine Dosage Guide

So sad. :nahnah: RIP dear Rottie boy, and all the other dogs who are let down by their humans.

Maybe the fear of Rabies, in dogs in different countries could also add to their fear of dogs. They may have been brought up from childhood being told not to go near dogs.

Metropolitian Police Mistake Kills Famil Pet.
sumosmum replied to tybrax's topic in General Dog Discussion
No, I believe the owners are not always allowed to visit the dogs that have been confiscated. Some are not even informed of where the dog is being held. I don't think they are only in it for the compensation, they had gone to the trouble of employing Dr Mugford to test the dog, as seen in the video, and were appealing the destruction order. -
A few spoonfuls of yogurt in his food each night might help.
