At our place we have GSDs, rotties, aussie sheps, jrt and frenchies and not one of them has an issue with the size of the kibble. :)

And his biggest mistake was thinking he would get only reasoned and helpful advice here. He has certainly been given that, but unfortunately it is in the minority, and he would need to be very calm and self contained to work through this thread to find it. Agreed but he can work through it to sort the wheat from the chaff (is that the saying?)

Stolz, i reckon if they set up the day before they should be scratched/not allowed to exhibit. Then maybe people will respect the rules

We can expect the same from people. If somebody surprises you by touching you lightly on the back or head in the street, or accidentally bumps into you, and you retaliate and injure that person, you can be charged with assault. While it might give you a big fright, and we would expect you to have a startle response, it is not acceptable for you to retaliate with violence. We don't tolerate people reacting in extreme or harmful ways to minor annoyances, and we shouldn't tolerate it in dogs either. Dogs should be allowed to be dogs, and you should muzzle your dog if it is aggressively reactive to people. I agree In a perfect world everyone would ask if they could pat your dog it is not a perfect work My dogs would be fine being approached by strangers and patted. Yes i prefer them to ask, but not everyone is a dog person or dog savvy and sometimes adults dont think to stop their kids and lots of kids dont know that it can be dangerous.

GSD's have one standard of perfection...I"ve never seen in the written word, where it calls for a rise in the centre of the spine...unless this has been a recent addition promoted by the specialty clubs? As for falling over...clearly you've not done or seen enough specialty events...it's sort of like tipping cows...fun but not very nice really. I"ll find some video of dogs that are so weak in the rear during a walk, they step on their hocks, wobble with great abandon and constantly stumble...these have gone on to win groups/bis etc....because few judges walk the dogs, or if they do, pay attention to the weakness. Way back when.... showed a young dog with sickle hocks....he constantly stumbled during a walk. He could only be stacked a certain way or he would quite simply fall over. He won the group as an adult (still had these issues) and did very well in the puppy ring when younger. Sorry to disagree, but this happens a LOT....the only good thing about this boy was his exceptional head and that he did not have a roach in the spine. That is correct. However every single breeder/owner/exhibitor can and does interpret it differently. I have not said i have done enough specialty shows, but in the last 4.5yrs at not 1 show have i seen a dog fall over because of its hind end. I have seen hockiness that has made me cringe, yes, but not one of those dogs have i seen fall over. Have you been to any specialty shows recently? I havent seen you at any recently :) There is one at Ballarat next week, you should come and then you will be able to show me which dogs fall over because of their hind angulations or their roaches :) You have also exaggerated what you have seen because you dont like 'specialty' style dogs. You prefer the 'old style' GSD, which is fine, you can prefer what you like, it is no skin off my nose, but until you can show me that more dogs than not fall over because of their hind angulation, well i dont put much credit in what you say. And i agree with SoJ - you can find bad in any breed.

They were collecting for the security on friday and saturday We left our gazebos and crates there and had no problems. There were also a lot of campers.

Lots of people don't like dogs with behaviourial issues, but that doesn't mean that they are bad dogs that are beyond help. True but some are.

I cant believe you suggested JRT rescue. Why make them do the job of putting this dog to sleep? I am not sure if i would. If it was an 'accident' then i dont think so, but if as you say he is that aggressive then yes i would. in a heart beat

Yep the forum supports it, does not mean all members practice it To the OP, if you dont like the conditions dont purchase the dog. Go to a different breeder and get your pet. OR be honest with the breeder and say you would like to breed and why, you will either be allowed to purchase a pup or not.

Me neither, i think that the 8-12 weeks period is far too important on bonding and experiencing their new environment. It is also a great bonding time That is just my opinion though :)
