Mitchi Is Getting Spayed Today 15/9
Flaves replied to Flaves's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
She is nearly back to normal, playiing although a little less boisterously THANK GOODNESS!!! Her and Barks are little ferals. She stopped crying late last night, i thnk it was the drugs they gave her. I know if i have a general i am a wreck after it, crying etc. She may be the same. She is giving me really sad looks, so pathetic and i fall for it. She has had extra treats, Glenn fed her off a spoon, yes you read right a SPOON, last night. I bought them a soft serve from Mr Whippy today. She has not really been eating much still, i guess her appetite will come back in a couple of days. -

She is snuggled in her blanky so she is warm and she is just sleeping. had a little yoghurt and about 2 licks of water and we are about to go to bed sso she can sleep. And you are right! I feel like the meanest person in the world. barks as even been really quiet around her. He went up and kissed her on the nose and then went and sat down,. -
Vanessa, my vet wouldn't remove Mitchis dew claws today when she was desexed becasue they were attached properly and he didn't think they would be a problem. Are Baileys causiing a concern or the vet just said he would remove them?

Mitchi Is Getting Spayed Today 15/9

Well, Glenn and i both went to pick her up...in seperate cars...becasue we couldn't have one get her without the other making sure she was ok too. She is VERY drowsy, looks stoned and when we took her to the loo she could hardly walk. She is so cold she is shaking so i have wrapped her in a blanket like a baby. She just lays there and cries. I breaks my heart cause i can't tdo anything to stop the pain. She can hardly move and just lays and cries. I am in the study adn i can hear her from here. I am taking Barks to training tomorrow and Glenn is staying hom ewith her and hten i will be home in the afternoon. I feel awful that i put her through thi. i know it i for the best but she is just a little baby. We tried to give her water...no go, tried to give her some food...no go. But am not too worried as the vet said she may be like that. I mut say my vet is great. We go backon monday to get a check up that everything is healing properly and no infection, then back in 10 days for the stitches to be removed. When i had my other dgs done, the just went back to get the stitches out. And i am impressed wth the cost. I love th evet nurse cause she gave Mitchi the lovliest snuggle AND A KISS ON HER NOSE!!! Very impressed. -

I just spoke to the vet and i can pick her up at 6. They said 'everything went as well as can be expected'. I hope i am reading too much into it and all is fine. They said she was a little groggy but ok. I can't wait. Only 1 hour and she will be home! -
My poor little baby is getting spayed today. Glenn took her cause i had to be at work early, i went last night and fille dinthe form cause he is hopeless like that! :p I rang him as he was dropping her off and he said she was pretty p%^^ed at him for not giving her breakfast! Thats my girl, ruled by her tummy. I have been worrying all day and when the vet called and left a message for me to call him back this morning, i nearly died. I thought 'oh my god she is dead'. You know how the first thought is always bad? He only called to let me know tha tthey were not dremoving her dew claws as they were fully attached and they only do them if they are very loose and usually only the back ones. But i get to go and pick her up soon! Yay and very excited about seeing her. I know it is probably silly but i cannot remember what it was like without her and Barker and i hate to imagine what i would be like if something did happen to them. Needless to say the little monster head will be spoiled for the next few days!

Caramel and Fudge are sssooooooooooooooo cute! They remind me of my little girl when she was that age. THey are so very determined as someone has already mentioned. Don't let them get away with ANYTHING cause they learn damn quick that they got away with it once so they will be able to get away with it again!!!!!! Mitchi is being spayed today and including blood works it is $170, ao i don't think that that is expensive at all. In fact i was expecting a bill of $200+ for it.

You an dKaos leave him to it and have some Mum and daughter special time....

Im In Need Of Some Help, Dog Is Driving Me Insane.
Flaves replied to wolf82's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Barker will just sit and whine. Just cause. Just cause... he saw the cat...he saw Mitchi, he heard the phone. He is ignored. If int he middle of the night he gets up or annoys me, he sleeps in a bed on the floor of our room, he gets put outside. He goes to the loo before bed as does Mitchi. No talking, no nothing. Just outside until the morning. I had to do this 3 times. He doesn't wake anymore. Mithci ends up under the doona t my feet when i wake up. SHe has gotten cold and found the warmth. -
DId she say why? I would be interested to hear her reasons. I have only heard good thingas about it.
-
My plan was to use a play pen for Mitchi adn Barker...they both could fit through the gaps.

HI, cute puppy. I hve crated Mitchi since we got her. i took her out for wee pbreaks for the first few weeks until she stopped crying for the loo. She is really good. She is in it at night from when we go to bed until we get up. She is outside during the day most days now. I have not had any issues with her and hte crate. I wish Barker had been with us since 8 weeks so i culd have trained him but he freaks out. I think crating is a great tool if used correctly.

I got my two Pauls Natural with acadophilis and bifidus (sp?) Both loved it. No left overs at all. Will try Jalna next time. They also like the greek yoghurt cause i had some left over.
-
I am probably going to get another bin this weekend as i am getting another 15kg bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I could be persuaded to part with it!!
-
My two have now decided that DIGGING is fun. I don't think it is. We have just landscaped with turf and plants and sectioned the garden beds off to stop them digging. ANd the little shites jump or go under the wire and dig my PLANTS up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111 ;) THey get into soooooooooooooooooooo much TROUBLE, Mitchi especially as she is the ring leader. THey also like to eat out grass done to the roots. THey have taken it to the mesh that is in our turf in some spots. THey have so many toys and things to do but noooooo they have to destroy my garden. I cannot wait until my poicket fence it up adn then they will be in the dog run!!! hehehehe

You get a free bin with NUTRO, to store the food in. Pretty cool!

I have a jrt and a shepx. Mitchi my little feral jrt makes me laugh. She is VERY vocal when she plays. I know the difference between her playing and her being serious. She gets timed out when she is serious. Barker is very lai back and she gets cranky with him sometimes. I would speak to a trainer or behaviouralst and find out what they recommend (sp?) to do to stop this from turning into something more when they are older. Good luck

Mitchi has manky ears and i went to the vet an he gave me EPI-OTIC. I use it weekly or bi-weekly depending on the gunk. You are meant to squeeze a little in the ear and then massage an dwipe out with a cotton ball. I find it works better and is easier for me and Mitchi to put some on a cotton ball and wiipe out or on a cotton tip then wipe out. I tend to go through 10 or so cotton tips and numerous coton balls but it cleans them up really well. I think it was about $10 at the vets. Good luck.

When i started reading this thread i was like 'hmmm aren't Atlas and Kaos TB's dogs?". lol Then you sent the pm and i was 'i am not losing my mind.." i am off to gets some more on saturday as i am over that way and it is easier to get it when i am over there than make a speacial trip for it. I am 1hr 10min away from 4 paws and more in Keilor. But NUTRO is great.;0) really Trust me...
-
I give my two the Nutro. Barker has 160g morning and night and Mitchi has 90g morning and night. (came with a cup that has measurement so is VERY easy to measure. They also each get a little raw mnce and 1tbs f yoghurt. Their coats are really glossy. Mitchis, for a jrt, is SO soft, not wiry at all. Barkers is now heaps glossier. We have 2 small pos a day instead of 5-8 for B and 2-3 for M. They are half the size of their poos on the old food. I am thrilled with the Nutro. I won't be going back. I have had them on it for about a month i think and i still have 7kg of a 15kg bag left and 1kg of a 2kg bg left cause i had to mix Mitches with the science diet cause i had heaps left. About $120.00 for 2 months food. I am happy with that. I also put my cats onto Nutro, i was that happy with the dogs food. the cats love it and their coats are lookng heaps beter. One had a really dry adn brittle coat, it isn't as bad now. try Nutro..trust me, TrustMe.

Kristie you are too kind! I also live in Pakenham so if you're sure you dont need them I might just come pick one up from you. Lilly is a Labrador/Wolfhound, would they be an appropriate size for her? I had them for a mal and a shep, so there are 2 sizes. Pm me and we can catch up. I am in lakeside. Also i have 2 pups who love to play if Lilly wants some woofy friends.
-
Bella, i have 2 halti's that are siting in my garage unused. You would be more than welcome to have one or bnoth of them if you like instead of buying one. I am in Pakenham so i could drop it off or you could pick it up if you like.
