Totally agree with Poodlefan and Showdog. Otherwise you will have an 80kg dog who is dangerous.

I don't have a large breed pup. I have a medium dog and he has only tried to nip/bite once. He has never EVER done it again. He was grabbed by the muzzle, growled at and put outside. He knew it was a nono Bella who lives next to me has Lilly, who when gets excited has a nibble. She did it to Bella one day, quite hard, Bella reacted as i did and she does not do it again. Maybe your reaction is too soft and not gruff enough. Try a deeper tone. Grabbing him by the scruff will not hurt him, he is a breed with a lot a loose skin. He needs a punishment befitting th ecrime. Growl, scruff shake and removed and ignored for 10-15 minutes. Then reintroduced. Repeat until he learns. Hope this has helped and Good luck.

Hi Brett, great to hear of the progress you have made. Barker would not even think of growling at me. NEVER! I can do whatever i want to him and he will let me. Mitchi on the other hand. I will not have her eating whilst there are kids around. She will occasionally growl at us. It is jumped on straight away. SHE WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS BEHAVIOR. NOT ON AT ALL - NEVER. I remove her food from her, i pat her whilst she eats. I am the same as Shek and Poodlefan. She needs to know it is NOT ok. Good Luck.

My old boy Sam was a rotti x shep. Looked exactly like her. Barker my shepxkelpie? looks the same. Has the eyebrows and tan legs and bum. She could be anything but she is pretty cute!

Hi All, Have we decided on a time? Anytime in the arvo will be great. I am in cranny to pick up a friend at noon but we are only 20 away from Skye so whenever suits us just let us know. Will check the thread before i leave for cranny around 11.30

Well, when Mitchi had her 3rd C5, she had a reaction. Swelling etc. Yes very frightening and terrible however, next year when she has her booster, the vet will give her a shot of antihistamine 20 minutes before she has the vaccination as a precaution. As someone who has had 2 dogs, who are FULLY vaccinated, have Kennel Cough recently, i will get tehmdone with a C5 each year. We go to training and they need to be done for that but also we go to dog oarks and i want my fur kids to have the best possible chance of not catching something.

I think it is meant to be coolish. Will confirm time over the weekend.

Thanks for the pm Flycow. I also think we should be able to promote which brands we like. I, like Norskgra, do not have anything to do with Nutro. I just like it, well my dogs do If i ever try any other food and have the same experiences you can bet your bottom dollar i will be spouting praises of them also. Each to their own, but take as much infor in as possible so that you can make the BEST choice for your dogs.

Flycow, to me you seem very anti Nutro. You don't seem to want to HEAR what some of us are saying. I am a convert. My dogs coats are brilliant. I have had people comment on my jrt's coat and the lustre and depth of the colour in it. I thought she had a great coat before on the science diet. WRONG. She does not lose much hair as many white dogs do, especially jrts and foxies. I wear black pants and dark tops to work adn i will cuddle her and maybe have 4 hairs on me from her. My black dogs coat is glistening. Ask Sags. I went in to get my 2nd bag of Nutro, so maybe 3months after the first, her first comment was about Mitchi's coat. It is not over marketing, it is the truth. You get your money refunded if you are not happy with the product and it does not deliver what they have said it would. That is good business. I bet they have had very few returns. They will never get one from me. I stand by Nutro for my dogs and my cats and I thank Hesapandabear for getting me onto it. ETA: I had a foster pup that has now gone to her forever home, when i got her, her coat was brittle, her skin flaky and she was losing heaps of hair. Within one week of being on Nutro her coat was soft, skin no longer flaking and she does not shed any where near as much. Her new owners havealso got her on Nutro. On the topic of poo - Each of my dogs do one - 2 a day. Down from 3-5 a day on science diet. They are small and firm and easy to pickup. No loose or sloppy movements. It is awesome and the smell is so reduced even my husband will clean up after them!

I can't reccommend Nutro more. I find it fantastic. All my kids are on it canine and feline. A 15kg bag lasts more than 3months for the dogs THe cats go through 15kg in 4months. It is great. I don't think that $95.00 is expensive for 3months food. You spend more than that a week on people. THey are getting great food. Noisymina you would be surprised how fast stock moves. Sags has ordered me in food cause htey have run out. I would give Nutro a o. THey can deliver it for about $15.00. Far cheaper than by car.

Nehkbet, this weekend is no good. Christmas parties. I spoke to Nicole and said i can meet down at KCC any night of the week. My guys would love it. THe love making new friends.

i have my 2 adn my foster at the moment. they ate a fluffy toy they had - fkuff everywhere in the backyard chewed my blanket on my bed ate a pair of my shoes - well barker actually only ate half a shoe but you van't wear one shoe...unless you have one foot! wee'd on our rug ate hundreds of dollars worth of plants so we now have an electric fence (evil laugh) dug holes in the turf um, i think that is it. Yep that is all so far.

Yep Tango, poo! So gross! But at least i taught her not too. Now she doesn't even look at it and it only took me a couple of weeks.
