Never a truer word spoken. i learnt from experience with my jack. Shenowis crated but it took a bit of work as she had slept onteh bedfrom pretty much day one cause shewas little and cute. However if you are makeing them wait until YOU are in the bed fiorst them you may be ok

Bomber in regards to her not wanting to walk. She is a baby and has worked out that if she stops moving she doesnt have to walk. Try having a treat and urging her forward with it. My jack Mitchi had no probs. SHe wanted to explore, mind you before we went for her first walk i had taken her so many places adn carried her so she was safer from bugs, Also she may be unsure about the lead. Was it the first time you put it on her? If so i would out it on her whilst youare watching her and let her wander aroudn with it on for a few minutes - about to about 15 so she gets used to it. Then take her walking in your yard so she gets more used to it. After she is doing that happily then graduate outside. Good luck. Would love to see pics!

New Food. Chicken Vegies And Rice

SL have you tried adding sardines to Ramses diet a couple of times a week? They have good oils in them and can help skin and coat. -
I have to say that GSDs are meant to be a MEDIUM breed. HOWEVER their weight is within the range for Large breed food. Because the weight range is 25kg and over and a GSD should be So for a male i would probably feed large breed food. And i did feed large breed food until Daire was having issues. Once they are sorted i will be going back to Nutro or DVP. Maybe try the Dick Van Pattens Natural organic. It is really good. But up to you. I think what your breeder reccommends is what you should follow. They should know better ETA Agree with PW and Scales about size and joints and injury

Which Wormer Do You Use With Advocate?
Flaves replied to Nicole...'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use the droncit or drontal At our vet when you buy the advocate you get teh worming tabs free What ever you use MUST cover HYDATIDS -
You are describing Hunta to a T!!! We now, after 9 months dont get drool or vomit UNLESS the person driving is a bit rough with the handling. I also tried travel calm and ginger bikkies. There is something that starts withh a D..not siure of the name and that might help. I think it stems from the first time he and Hunta when in the car it was to the airport. For us, it was constant short trips and continually taking her to fun places. The park, Kepala, teh lake, a friends house etc. So maybe try the D stuff, i think it is used for kids when they are travel sick. Good luck

Eaglepack Holistic Select Large Puppy
Flaves replied to Hunter_Weim's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Just so you know, it is only in australia as a trial at this time. So it depends on how well it sells if it will be permanant. My pup was weaned on it. Found it great!! -
I took my 7 mo to the vet, and he did a thorough check and said it could be just a soft tissue injury, and wasn't concerned with anything major at this point. She is on anti-inflammatoys for 7 days, rest and no play (easier said than done). We will take her back to the vet on Wednesday and see what he says then. What state are you in? If in vic i would reccommend Monash Vet cnr of Dandenong Rd and Wellington road They are very good with GSDs
-
I would take him to 4 Paws. They are a training centre and live on teh property i think so they know who is coming and going.
-
Ray at Monash is well versed in GSD as is Barry Haywood.

My vet had never heard of Titre testing. I wanted to get mitchi done becuase she had an allergic reaction to her 3rd vaccination as a pup Hoever noone i haev spoken to will do it.

Humans get Combantrim - you can get 2 types. The 2nd type covers extra worms. Dogs get Drontal and cats get um, supermarket stuff. Whichever is on special - they dont seem to get worms as they get dry adn wet foods, not much raw - if they do it is human grade and the dogs are done. THe dog worms tabs wew get are called Droncit - they come with the Advantage/Advocate Thought Sentinel was different because it did cover all types? It says it does tapeworm? I was referring to the liquid all in ones, i am not sure about Sentinal.
-
If you are going to go the antihistamine route you should start with the old style like polaramine first. My vet said that due to the extreme dry many dogs are having a hayfever type reaction to the dirt etc. Good luck and i hope you find the cause.
-
Pands, if you use the all in one flea/worm/heartorm you still MUST use an all wormer that covers hydatid tapeworms every 3 months. None of the all in ones cover tape worm too. If you need to do it now you can get a few from the vet or supermarket. I haev used the ones in a white and red pack- St Bernards? maybe. Do the dogs and all the humans then repeat the dogs in a month. The pup in 2 weeks a nd then repeat every 3 weeks until 3 months old them monthly till 6 months then on to 3 monthly. When you do the 6 month treatment do teh humans again too. This is what we do at our place and are worm free. Cats included

Fifi and Family, i am so sorry for the loss of Navarre. Run Free Navarre. Was his name from the movei Ladyhawk?
-
Just an idea. BEFORE going to the vets maybe go to a doggie chiro or a greyhound guy. She may have put something out and that is why she is limping What state are you in? If in vic, i haev the names and numbers of a few people who may be able to help you. ETA Having just been through a growth issue, the protein can be TOO high in some of these products with the fat ratio and can actually increase the growth rate. If you are adding raw meat and bines you can be throwing the ratios out a lot and causing fast growth. I would try a chiro/GH man first and if they think it is something else go to the vet for confirmation as often a vet will xray and come up with nothing for a joint issue or say it is puppy looseness Also what does your breeder say about it?
-
Have you contacted the tradie? I would and i would be jumping up and down about it. You told him what to do and he did not, not good enough. You now have a dog who is under veterinary care and is costing money in vet fees. Ring them and ask them to explain.
