Sighthounds Don't Need Health Testing
murve replied to SaddleNotIncluded's topic in General Dog Discussion
Whats wrong with this person, bloody rocks in her head I know where there is a gorgeous boy for sale from a Reg breeder, she is a friend of mine, I'd rather pay $950 for a limited reg pup, that I know has it's needles m/chipping etc BYB now can be reported to their local councils & DPI, in particular if No Vac's & m/chipping are done, it is also against the law to advertise pups For Sale with out m/chipping no's SaddleNot Included :: I would let your friend know about the new Laws/Legislation they are on the DPI site -
Please be careful with the cheese, it is best to try & use the Lactose Free cheese & use in small amounts, as dogs can have trouble digesting milk based products. I have seen a large breed dog been given 1kg of diced cheese within a few hrs, this person did this everyday that dog now has kidney/liver problems. A few of my friends & my partner tried to tell the owner, talk about ignorance

Honestly kicking a dog can aggravate dog to bite, by looking at some of the dog attacks, ppl are either bitten on the legs or with picking up a small dog with another dog around, the loose dog can look at you as a threat & bites you on the arms (if it can jump high enough) to get you to release the other dog.

I would like to congratulate all the winners from our trial today :D everybody who gained passes & 1 lucky person who gained their Title :happydance2: Everybody had fun, the rains held off even though we had winds most of the day

my daughter went on the K9 wait list 3 yrs ago, Nothing, no emails to say they closed the waiting list, she tried at Action dogs ;last year, passed the intro night with flying colors, then she was knocked back due to the fact a GSD jumped & landed on our Pappy, he of course yelped, this happend before the session even started, funny thing was the GSD was accepted. Our Pappy boy is now at Southern with a Agility Trainer who is great, this trainer starts with foundation & my daughter & Pappy love it, they only work on Agility

murve replied to mumof4girls's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
at our club we tell handlers to come into the circle to where they are & the dog are comfortable, we also say do not let your dog get into another dogs face 'cause they may not like it. So you are doing the right thing you are not happy change clubs :D I know I would if I was pushed like that, good luck :) -
Survey For College Assignment (now With Survey Functioning)
murve replied to bb_student's topic in General Dog Discussion
- Murve: thankyou for taking time out in providing that insight, we are new to the whole scene so no we wern't aware of PTS at atll and will look into it any new information helps and we appreciate it. bb student you are welcome :D if you are not sure what PTS is, it is Put To Sleep, yes some unwanted, fear aggression ( also known as Fear bitters) even aggressive dogs go to the pound or go to their vets to put down the poor dog all because people just dont take the time to work out what or seek help to what is wrong with their furkids ( people who love their dogs called them this) -
Survey For College Assignment (now With Survey Functioning)
murve replied to bb_student's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi bb student :) I didnt mind doing the survey, But have you thought about why pets get PTS, my partner & I have helped with turning dogs around from Fear Aggession/ Aggression by looing into WHAT HAS CAUSED the dog to be like this & have taken them off death row. The 2 main aspects are either the dog is in physical pain or some kind of illness & people just dont bother to help the poor dogs. they just look at it, the dog has turned Aggressive "GET IT PUT DOWN" that is the easy solution. A dog will either turn Fear or go the other way of total Agression. Fear Aggression could be a no of reasons eg: tormented, physicaly hurt, illness of some kind, with this the dog normally goes into submission while growling/snapping. If you think about it in the wild pack if a member of the pack is hurt in some way the pack leader will take action to get rid of that injured dog. 9 times out of 10 they injured/sick dog is killed by the pack leader. Full on Aggression can also be similar to the above but the dog will not submitt they will fight. I hope this gives you a little more insight of understanding the behaviour. -
just a freindly reminder to the Vic competiters Westernport Obed trial is still open, trial is on 25th Aug, entries close 17th Aug at kcc Park, come along & have some fun, yes it is a late start 11am, class winners get to select their prizes, raffle as well with great prizes :D :D BBQ will be on :D
-
if you contact the Whippet club in your state Thowra they could put you onto a breeder close to you & answer all/any questions you may have :D the best things about whippets is they easy to bath/dry, damp towel can even do the job. oh they can also be bed hogs  great feet warmers though, they are loyal & pick a member of the family. if you do pick a whippet, let you son feed the pup, & as they grow together the bond will be great. :D :D
-
Definately another vote here for Whippets :) I can say a litter brother to my boy is housed wi th an autistic boy & they are inseperable :D
