Requirements Of Obedience Trials?
murve replied to Rilla-My-Rilla's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi Rilla-My-Rilla here is the site for ANKC http://www.ankc.org.au/Rules.aspx , go down the Obedience & download the pdf, your 1st class will be CCD (Community Companion Dog) it has all the details there Any thing that is confusing just ask :D -
when is your girls litter due?? She's due in season around May... She will be bred when next in... ok so if she is mated in May she will then be due in July, but if you are training her beforehand you could then throw her season off wack, that is what happend when we trained our Pappy bitch last year, she was due inseason in July, did her ET a couple of days before she was due. She ended up coming into season in Sept

R & B I gather Biscuit is a Schippy?? well they are very fit little dogs, I know a few Schippy's down here that have done it & romped it in, just start him off with doing a couple of km's for the 1st couple of weeks then build it up, that also goes for your speed as well start at about 7kmph as you build the distance build you speed. well you know the saying "Anything you can do, I can do better" hell no!!!! it is broken up just like they do for horse Endurance rides. Yes he is! Oh excellent, that's good to know! :D Thanks for the tip, will do!I'm so excited to do it with Rusty in July :D But my only concern is, which I only just thought of today whilst on my run, I am going to be overseas for a month starting March, is it possible Rusty will lose majority of the fitness we've built up to? Because obviously he won't be getting runs, just strolls from the housesitter Rusty & Biscuit wont loose much condition while you are away as long as your housesitter does regular walks with them :D

Medication To Treat Dog Aggression?
murve replied to littlesev's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
How young was you baby when you picked him up? Did he come from a breeder or elsewhere? these factors could be taken in consideration of his behavior, if he was taken from the litter to early, he odversely has not really learnt the proper dog body language they learn between the ages of 4-14 weeks, this is mainly taught to them by their mother & interacting with other dog members of the family. I would stay away from Meds,Go have blood test done by your vets, there might be an underlying medical prob that could also trigger this behavior. -
We got asked to put our kids in last weekend, :D Bummer have to decline as we will have babies due that weekend cause we cant go, but :D our babies will be here

There is also Jan Fennell, a lot of what she does I have been doing for years, I also have 2 of her books very interesting reading :D http://www.janfennellthedoglistener.com/

I have a few friends that are Breeders/ trialers with the "spunky" breed, we love'em :D They are members of Schipperke club Vic, this breed was on my daughters list of a new dog to get, it was in close comp with the Papillon  well the Pap won, yes this breed do need training but they are full of themselves/ showoffs when given the chance
-
Yes, you can. Which test are you considering? M Murves, at the end of June. Dog would be 2 and 5 days. Yippee Rebanne I am tossing up either our Whippet (Darcie) or the Sarge (Papillon) to put through our trial  Don't get too excited  I've wanted to get Fern through for the last 3 years and it hasn't happened yet due to various issues with both her and me! No issues with Warrior but me........ hmmm we will see. want or need help just yell :D
-
this is known as a game trail, Minnimax is on the right trail, Ignore the dog when they do nick something, yes it is hard at 1st but the dog will get the message you are not going to play that game. We did that with one of of pups, it does work, You just have to be strong & resistant to the game :D

Oh bugger To but if you do light work outs with her, this will also make it easier when she is due to give birth,
-
Come to Vic & you can run one of our kids through in Westernport trial

whem my daughter started looking for her new baby, we went to a few shows found a couple of breeders, a couple of breeders brushed her off but we found one breeder who gave my daughter the time of day even with getting her dogs ready for the ring :) ok my daughter was only 12 at the time & I was with her. Our new baby arrived 2 yrs latter from that breeder, since the 1st contact we kept in contact with the said breeder even up to today of our achievements with her, we have even been able to use one of her boys to Sire our litter :D Keep at it & don't give up Spyda62 try every avenue possible, emails, phone calls even to the extent of going to some shows, that helps by hanging a round with your particular breed you want, could also join the club & tag along to their events/outings they may have :D
-
Yes. Only judges and stewards cannot. :)) M that is great Abbiestar :D this means I can run our Pappy boy in our Westernport trial & I can run our Whippet Bitch at HVCV :D
-
I have a question for you Abbiestar can a trial Sec put one of their dogs through at there club trial :)
