I saw that tooo TO it was 2 shepherds onto a smaller breed, not good My boy use to break, now he wont, he didnt even break the other week when he had a puppy Schnauzer & shepherd herrasing him wanting to play while doing Sit Stays, the judge was impressed & asked me the secret for him to stay, I let our pappy pups annoy him while we practice :D -
Whats Required For First Obedience Trial

I had that the other week at a trial where my dog was attacked before the trial even started in the morning ( thank god no teeth connected) just more of a scare then later that day the same dog went my girlfriends Bermese mountain dog, just missed on connection with teeth, this was just before the 2nd trial started, after our heelwork ,SFE, Recall was done, I realized that same dog was going to be next to us for the Stays. I was going to scratch the stays when I saw the owner & said dog got in the car & left. We ended up with a very playful Schnauser & Shepherd either side of us. I was relieved -
oh hum 1, 2, 1, 2, right turn 1,2,1,2, left turn, 1,2,1,2, right about turn (1,2,3,4,5) 1,2,1,2, down your dog etc sorry guys got the pattern stuck in my head I suppose this is what you get from a dog trainer who is ex Army Drill Sargent but I love my OH who has now taken a great interest in us gaining our Obedience titles

I was thinking of coming down for that one as well, mainly for the RATG for the gundogs on the Saturday though so was only going to do the one trial....still thinking LOL Hi TO spoke to the Geelong Sec last night she said to post them by Tues in an express post thingy she will accept them, Enteries have to recieved by them no later than this Friday. the Cataloge entries should be up on their site possibly by next Tuesday Oh if you are interested there will be a talk on Tues 5th at 7pm in the Pavilion (Kcc Park) on Obedience trialing, speaker is Ross Carlson, gold coin donation, kids oopppss sorry I mean dogs have to stay at home, humans only. It wont be to long so I'm told Can anyone go to the talk? Is Ross Carlson a judge and/or trainer? I have been told it is open to all trialers & newbies, found out last night there will be dog/handler demonstrating each class with Ross, I was asked to do CCD with Orlando, only the demo dogs are to be there light supper after talk Yes Ross Carlson is both Judge & trialer/trainer

Hi KM yes we do have Pappys, 1 bitch & her 2 boys, Mailka & Dodger are handled by my daughter & I handle Sarge & Orlando (whippy) Pappys can be very cunning but quick learners  In Cd 1 exercise you have a choice of retrieve on the flat or change of position on command "Yes I think it does and I think work to a higher level but only enter them when they are more mentally mature". I also agree with Oss on this comment -
oh well I think it is good I will get drilled more than Orlando, once we get our footwork pace down pat everything else will fall into place, I dont seam to keep the same pace all the way through heelwork & thats what he wants to really work on at this point I recorded a metronome onto my mobile phone to keep my pace at a steady pace-nothing else worked! Didnt think of a mentronome, we have a couple of them around the house, even a small electronic one with headphone socket

I was a member of Berwick years ago & yes I do agree do it their way or hit the Highway. I had a run in with them about my daughter training, so we left We are now members of Westernport , they are great, they work with you & the dog if you just want to learn for the sake of learning that is great :D very friendly not just the committee but also general members BBQ is on everyweek If you want to trial they will help there as well Agility is what my daughter does & enjoys it, the instructors have been working great guns with her

ahhhh good one mystic Ososwift What else do you see for my future

I am now in trouble, my OH has decided to start putting us through the drill core ( him being ex army drill Sargent & dog trainer) after watching the video. now here goes training everyday , he is looking at about 4 times a day with 10-15mins per time But I am looking also at it that Orlando & I will improve dramatically having my own personal coach :D

Hi KM another suggestion is if you can get to some trials & watch, even ask questions from other trialers is good. :D It is daunting at first but if you go to a few is good or even as Ososwift has said about joining a club is great, you can have a lot of support. Oh another suggestion is if you go to watch a trial take a video cam & tape some of the trialers The club I am with is great, I have just started trialing, my instructor decided to put me up a class to help us further to get our points, we are at CCD level but I am doing CD work already :D -
Oh Bumma got the video's from Sat but I can't up load from my facebook where my girlfriend put them I am going to ask her to burn them to disc for me & bring it down when she comes down for Geelong
