Getting A Little Lost - Would Love Some Advice Please
murve replied to BC Love's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi BC love have you tried having a treat in your left hand & holding it right next to your left leg while walking, with holding your pups attention saying to him "heel" "good heel" & let the pup have the treat while walking, do this a couple of times a day 5min's or so, while the whole time the lead is in your right hand about waist height. Oh would be good to have a treat pouch on if you dont want crummy left over treats in your pockets :D You can try this even off lead around the house -
we have 3 Paps, 1 Whippet, 1 Rottie, 1 JRT & a Cavie X, they all get along great, 2 of our Paps are only 10 months, the rest range between the ages of 21/2 to 9 yrs, 2 are rescues The Paps we bred, we dont have a prob with yapping 24/7 in fact the only time they do is when someone turns up at the door, & it is normally the Rotie & Cavie that triggers the doorbell

Do Breeders Like To Hear From Their Sold Puppies?
murve replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
Funny thing happened today we ran into the breeder we acquired our bitch off ( who also owns the stud dog that was put over our girl), she was very happy how our boys have progressed. she was lucky to watch me training Sarge, I didnt see her :D she thinks we will go places with both boys, my daughter is doing agility with Dodger & Mum, I will be putting Malika through Endurance next year :D The breeder commented its great to hear how her kids & grandkids are going no matter what they are competing in conformation or sports, she is happy -
love it Sir sniffalot my boy went pchyco this alvo, he saw OH put a new bike rake on the back of the wagon & one of the grandkids bikes, (just to see how it looked) Orlando got that worked up he thought we were going for another bike ride. Oh bugga had to burst his bubble no biking today

Do Breeders Like To Hear From Their Sold Puppies?
murve replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
We keep in contact with the breeders our babies came from, the breeder who owns the Sire to our litter also like to hear from us how our boys are doing. the lovely people who inherited our baby boys are very happy to send us updates & we do answer their emails. We had one come back for a visit, while his owners were overseas, :D When we placed our boys in their new homes we also offered to look after them if their carers were going away & cant take the little tackers along :D We miss our boys & are pleased to hear on their milestones ok I am getting a little soppy here sorry guys -
Left About Turns, Left U Turns And Pivot Turns

That is right Dogdude :D that is why in the old days they called it military turn, cause you are basically walking on the spot & at the same time you are turning :D The judges commands have changed over the years but they still mean the same Sorry guys starting to babble army talk, my partner/trainer is ex army drill Sargent & dog trainer -
Good luck glad we could help :D we have our next trial at the State trials 6&7 Aug here in Vic, hoping to get our 2nd pass towards our CCD

Left About Turns, Left U Turns And Pivot Turns
murve replied to stan the man's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks, I think that`s it, in my head I was thinking there were three types of left abouts etc now if I just forget left about turn and only think "left u turn and Pivot" hopefully my old grey cells will remember which is which. Thanks again all. You got it right ooppp should I say Left about  Yes there is only 2 types "left U turns" & "Pivot" is the new word for the old military word. The judges do say "left about turns when you are in a trial :D -

I agree with you Dogdude it is hard to explain, it is better being demo straighted I do my left about turns that is known as military style eg:: human left about turn slight march on the spot while the lead is being passed around your back with dog stays on the outside the other left about Dogdude did a pretty good explanation the dog stays on the inside :D I hope this helps. Other than that I suggest going to a dog Obedience club & watch, -
This may be a silly question but is the Breeder you got your BC off a registered breeder??? My girlfriend is a BC breeder, her dogs are in pens outside but when her bitches are due she brings them inside till the babies are about 6 weeks old, then she has the babies outside during the day if the weather is good, inside of a night so they come acustom to the different noises

murve replied to LabRat32's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
this might sound crazy but we found Orlando pulled his CCD stuff together after been given 1/2 a roll of Peperonie Salami before going in the ring, he got his 1st pass with 91 points & was placed 3rd in CCD class he was nearly prancing like a show pony Congrates Monelite for your pass now we have to get the other 2 passes for the title -

After yesterdays great effect Orlando decided bugga class this morning & stuffed up just about everything I think he was missing his half a roll of Peperonie salami he got that was fed to him by my OH :D after we did the morn trial Orlando was funny while doing the heel work , pacing around like an Arabian show pony, & doing the sit stay with his front legs crossed our score was Heelwork 25points, SFE 19points, Recall 17points, Stays 30points, total 91points Congrates to you Wuffles for getting your pass
