I will be there both days if it's not pouring rain! We had a really good training session yesterday, and even had some help with distractions in the way of several crows and a little mudlark! Silly mudlark would just walk around following us while we did some heel work He proved quite useful actually, he walked directly in front of her during recalls and she just ran straight passed him, and then when I put her in a stand stay he went right up to her and all but walked underneath her belly. Good girl didn't move an inch and watched me like a hawk Cocky little bird though tempting a birdy gundog like that! I normally watch the weather closely a few days beforehand to work out what I will be wearing, but still working in the light mist rain Congrats to you both for doing a great training session, we dont have any cheaky birds here wish we did We have had a few good training days, on Sat I had Orlando in a sit stay when 3 young drunkin hoods walked pass calling out to my boy, he looked at them but he didnt break I was very pleased Last night working in the Pavillon he is comming along ok, we had a 1 on1 with another trialer, she thinks he is doing good after the freak out he got last year in the building,

Hi Echo the instructor was talking about it last night at training, so if you suddenly see a lot of witches hats popping up come over & see us :D at the moment she is trying to get as much info as possible to be able to even do trials, I think this could be fun for those who would like a slightly diff trial to just Obed or who cant/unable to compete in Agility. I know my dog would damm near kill the times in Agility 'cause I have a medical cond, I just cant run the courses, I would love to put him through, he just wont work for anybody else we have tried even with me hiding Rally -O here we come the more people we can get to take part the better :D in Vic
-
Hi Angelsun one of our instructors is talking about starting Rally-O, we have got some of our members want to give it a shot, me for one :D would like to compete, our club is Westernport Obedience Dog Club :D

My Dog Is Regressing - Is This Normal
murve replied to Adnil444's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
most Rotties /Dobes dont really mature till thye are about 4 yrs Its fun when you have 4-5 Rotties who decide to show there assertiveness within months apart from each other We have had one that was 78kg's by the time he was 12months, who really pushed the point in being very defiant in training. We found the bitches didnt do this sort of thing till they were around 3yrs, so yes be more calm around her when you do train & go back to more walkies, she might calm down again :D -
Good luck I am not looking forward to doing scentwork with Orlando but my OH says he's got some sneaky tricks up his sleeve that could work I am now flatout trying to get him to hold the dumbbell, it is slowly working Little Sarge loves the dumbbell, 10months old & he is already fetching, comimng back & giving it to me
-

I should not skite here :D but we just bring our bitch upto my partners place where she is housed with our other 2 cut males & our other cut bitch while our 3 entire males are at my place, Malika normally spends at least 3-4 weeks there :D
-
The only time we have done anything in the Pavilion is when did Conformation shows I have been taking it slow & steady with him, he is ok when it is one on one but when the rest of the class is there is when he trembles We will get there as the old saying goes "Slow & Steady Wins the Race" Thank you for your kind words of encouragement Tassie :D
-
You beat me to it Kavik I was going to suggest those methods it worked on my boy, it took some time but it has paid off :D good luck Marleah :D
-
Oh I think my boy Orlando has phobia of working in the Pavilion at Kcc Park He will heel ok, 1/2 harted about sits & drops, hates doing stays & jumps the gun on recall When we work outside on grass he is fine does everything beautifully , stays no probs, recall he waits for the magic word, :D I think it is the building, we have only just started working in there one night a week, & of course every little noise echoes,

Not Allowing Your Dog To Play With Other Dogs...
murve replied to persephone's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
You sumed it up in a nutshell Bullyisious  Dogs have to be dogs whether small, large or in between, our Pappys love playing with a Bermese Mountain dog (he is very gentle & lays down to their level) also a GSP, she is as silly as a wheel, they love playing "catch me if you can" our Whippet loves doin zoomies with any dog that will zoom with him for some unknown reason our guys seam to adapt them self to the eviroment they are in The 2 dogs I have mentioned are part of our Obed. club there is dogs I do know we wont let our guys play with -
I did an inquiry & found out that cats are suppose to be locked up at night I spoke to some people I know that live in NSW & they have cats
-
Ok I have a silly question to add Ker Do you know if the attack to place during the day or night ??? Also do have any idea which state this attack happened ??? Being a Greyhound (sighthound group) they are a natural prey dogs especially if it has already been trained to chase, even if they havent been taught it still a risk you take having this type of breed
