  1. Hey SD if you are on FB check out Sal Robinson photo's from the WPDOC Agility Trials last Sat, if I am correct there is a great shot of your Dally flying over a Hurdle
  2. My daughter & I steward at a Agility trial last Sat, there was about 5 Pappillons, Pom, Tibetin Spaniel & a couple of other toy cross breeds competing, boy did they give the larger breeds a run for their money & they did well score wise
  3. We have 1 Pap just started training up for Agility/Jumping & 2 for Obedience :D Our bitch who is 3yrs has not had any Obed training for ages picked eveything up quite well last night at trial training, I was very happy with her, our Instructors think she will be ready for trialing early next year :D Our Agility pappy :D is doing great, he should be ready for trialing mid March after he turns 18months :D Our other pappy pup is also coming nicely for Obed Oh boy next year wil be interesting, fun & full on having 3 Paps & 1 Whippet trialing
  4. the best leather lead I have is a old Rein from a horse bridle :D it is English leather, all I did was add a clip & my OH put a handle at the other end for me. I picked it up at the horse markets years a go. this leather was suppose to be for something else but never was used, so I claimed it, A friend of ours got some more leather & we made a couple more for our smaller dogs :D
  5. Good Luck SLLH, hope you get a pass We had trial training tonight at FOO Orlando did well still have to fine tune heel work but our Instructor said if we were being scored, perfect scores for everything else & not quite a pass for heelwork (Novice ) Mailka needs to stop pulling on heel, stop tippy toe dancing for SFE, Recall & Stays perfect the Instructor loved her Recall, she was a Bull out of the shoot & then had to slam the brakes on so she wouldnt crash into me. On the Recalls & stays I expected her to take off on me I was so happy she stayed, as she does have a habit of doing (CCD)

    Papillon

You got it right Paps are great for Obed/Agility , I steward at a Agility trial on Sat, we had a few Paps in, boy did they give the larger breeds a run for their money yes there are breeders who may sell their older dogs to loving forever homes, you will find the dogs will be desexed & the dog maybe be put on limited reg.
  7. I own a Ford Falcon AU 3 wagon & it is dedicated Gas , I love it , I was looking at a Ford Territory, our car dealer let us try to put our crates etc in the back not even 1/2 our gear fitted with a 36inch crate. So we are sticking with our Ford wagons. My OH has made me a custom made crate for my wagon so we can use as much floor space for our 4 dogs. I should take a pic & add it to show our set up
  8. we have had a couple of ppl put their hands up to help demo Have you heard if the ANKC have accepted to include Rally - O into trials yet?? apparently they were going to make a decision over the weekend, if not I might be able to find out tomorrow afternoon :D ANKC will accept it as another trial
  9. It's a shame you wont be able to make it Angelsun
  10. Great work Nik and Annie I don't do broad jump as Ava thinks the best way is to run straight over the boards. Are you going to enter any Open trials this year? I'm thinking I might enter Croydon, which is the last here for the year. At least I know what to work on! I knew our COP wasn't up to scratch, and she eventually did it without creeping forward so that made me happy. Hey Nik great minds think alike I have Croydon ear maked as our last trial for this year toooo, we will be doing Novice
  11. Good work Nik & Annie done better than us if we had done that class
  12. Well training got thrown out the window yesterday my daughter & I were stewards at our Club Agility trials, Eve was a lead runner & help with adjusting the heights in her ring, & I was Asembly steward on another ring. Oh what a long day we were on the grounds at 7am to help set up all the equipment & do the last min jobs to get ready :D didnt end up leaving till about 5 pm, The good thing out of yesterday Eve has been asked to be lead runner at another 2 Agility trials & I have also been asked to do Asembly, concidering neither of us have never done it before :D . The judges were also very impressed with her proffesinalism (sorry for the spelling) they thought she had been doing the job for ages, more fool them when they were told it was the 1st time & she is older than they thought  The funny thing Eve twisted her knee in the morning but kept going all day, she did not let her knee stop her :D oh what a champ of a kid, I love her for courage
  13. I love a pack of paps!! also some of the mixes of big and little dogs! Thank you FF Its fun having all 7 together , George The Rottie is of course the Alpha when all together , if the pups get to roudy George stands up , looks at them & just barks, then lays back down & goes to sleep at home Orlando is the Alpha & the pups give him the respect :D
  14. Ok here is 5 of our troop this was taken about 3yrs ago L--R Orlando, George the Rottie, Candy (JRT), Harry the great mouse hunter ( Cavi X Chi), Malika (Pap) just after we picked her up Our two Papy boys Dodger & Sarge with Orlando in the middle Oh the little one hiding in the corner is Ipup he was visiting Oh I must add all our kids are still alive, George & Candy have just hit 10yrs, Harry is 41/2, Orlando will be 4 at xmas, Malika is now 3 & the Pappy boys are 13months
  15. Hey that is great JulesP would you be able to ask them to contact Noeline McIIroy, her ph no is in the back of Dogs Vic mag or catch up with her at Foo before classes start, that is if they are doing the early classes
  16. I will be at Kcc Park on Tues evening from about 4pm with my Whippet & 2 of our Pappy's. If you can why dont you come down & have a look :D By the sound of it we have plenty of ppl who would love to take part but we need some-one who can demostate it for the newbies
  17. Thanks Tassie for your support, yes dame on Bass Strait being in the middle, Noeline has arranged for some- one to come over from your Island, but wont be able to for another week or so I think
  18. After receiving a ph call from Nollene earlier today, I have been asked if anybody who has taken part in Rally-O in Vic, would they be available to do a Demo at FOO training on Tues 18th Oct at Kcc Park, Vic Training starts at 5pm, so if you can be there before hand would be a great help, Nollene has all the equipment needed, She does have a no. of ppl who would like to do it but Does Not have some-one who has already taken part :D Nollene would like to get Rally-O up & going in Vic
  19. Our training with Mailka is coming along slowly, her heelwork is good, SFE we are now playing tippy toe dances but we are not sitting anymore, we worked on our Recall today with a little help from my daughter Malika majorly anticipated the calls so I got Eve to hold her till I said "Come" after about 5 times Malika started to get the message , we practiced inside for now when I have more confidence with her I will take her outside. Hopefully we could have Malika in CCD early next year Orlando has got COP down pat & his Finnish for Recall is really good, just still got to fine tune the about turns, he still goes a bit wide but working on it tooo, then we should be ready for CD trials soon Corvus you are just like me not going in the ring till everything is fine tuned
  20. No 1 dont forget to Breathe :D No2 Remember to Relax girl :D No3 Have fun & just look at the trial as a training session :D these are the points I have started going by & they have started paying off Oh as my OH puts it work with the dog & you will do good :D
  21. Thank you Wuffles, Oh I forgot to add "I have to put the DB in Orlando's mouth" I shall study the Shirley Chong method, just had a quick read looks like it could work :D I am working with a Whippet, being a sighthound is fun I dont think you are a lunatic jumping around & squealing with excitement I do that too when we have mastered something we have been working sooo long on I did that at Ballarat Obed trials before we even left the ring after completing the Stays for CCD, the judge must have thought I was an idiot, but when he asked me why I was so excited, I just told him we have our 3rd pass & now tittle, he was very pleased
  22. I do have a question Orlando will not retrieve the dumb bell, how can I encourage him to do it, we tried by smearing the bar with the smell of meat / chicken as we will need to do retrieve in Open class & I would like to start him now while we are in Novice we can get him to hold it but thats it we will try anything to get over this hurdle of retrieving, if anybody has suggestions would be very much appreciated
  23. RV & MG just like here, dosent matter which Pap I am working Orlando tries to push in & take over their posie & gives me the look "mum, mum, my turn please mum to practice our obed" I do find after I work the Paps Orlando gives 110% :D the pic of you RV is very cute & well done on SFE keep up the practice :D
  24. Well I can say, I have been told that my Whippet is not backwards in coming forwards he is very friendly to a lot of people, love saying hello to ppl down the st, kids at my grandaughters school, if there is ( & this is a Big IF) an arguement with any other of our furries hes in there giving his 20c worth (more so vocal) When you are raised with a Rottie, JRT, Cavi X, & 3 Pappy's, no point in being timid our guys all live in harmony & accept everybody with excitement  I have seen more timid dogs in other breeds than Sighthounds
  25. Way to go girls big congrates to both of you's we are hitting the Novice ring on Melb Cup Day for the first time since getting CCD title
