murve replied to ChloeEastwood's topic in General Dog Discussion

Hi DiscoDobe in the Rule book it says " All dogs must have a slip collar or Flat collar & remain on dogs neck during the trial, collars are not to have spikes or collars which give additional head control shall be permitted". No check collars allowed, no ID tags on collar. Dress Code Adequate sensible dress with appropriate footwear eg:: I wear & most other trialers that I have noticed wear jeans, top/shirt, maybe a jumper, runners. if the ground is wet I wear my riding boots :D normally dress to the weather conditions if you are game to participate in the rain :D color of clothing dose not matter

try playing the Look At Me game, when you give him the command LAM, reward him :) Heeling-- have a special treat in your left hand right in front of his nose, hold it there while you say heel take a few steps & let him a little piece, when giving the word say it in an exciting tone of voice , try this tell you can walk a reasonable distance. Also try joining your local Obedience club :D

On the Island Gotland, (part of Sweden) dogs are welcome everywhere, we were there for 5 weeks & loved it :D :D, apparently the other Scandinavian countries are the same -
I wouldnt worry about the tail wagging during the stays as she stays put for the time allocated  most terriers I know do that Good luck with your trial cant wait to here how you both go :D just remember chin up walk in that ring with confidence & your sweetie will do well. if you go in being all nervous & tense the dog will read your body language & basically play up But most of all Have Fun participating

Someone Sold Me A Pitbull Not A Cocker Spaniel
murve replied to Atanquin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Zorro is a doll :) he looks so confused in the pic I have had our Papillons mistaken for a Pomie, over grown Chi & the list goes on  Our Whippet has been called a baby Great Dane : go figure we have had the RSPCA here years ago about our Rottie Bitch being malnourished, the bitch being 11yrs at the time was actually a little over weight. The officer went away quite contented & mutted, "cant some ppl tell the diff between overwieght & malnourished dogs" :) -
I think so Esky the Husky, we had a Fench Bulldog from QLD compete at the ET we took part in last year :) then she went over to compete at the Champ show at Bulla :) But double check with M, he will know more
