  1. Harminee this is such a beautiful thing that you are doing. You are very special person.
  2. You will always miss her but the pain does get easier.
  3. heheh cute, I mean naughty puppy
  4. Staffy thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=75473 Kiss guide to raising a puppy is a good book as well. Good luck and hang in there, it does get better
  5. RIP Sammy. I am sorry for your loss and by the sounds of it you did not let her down. You saved her 8 years ago and I am sure that she will always be grateful for the love that you showed her.
  6. I have used the sards wonder soap aswell and find it good.
  7. Stay strong, you have done the right thing by asking for help. My lab was a toad to toilet train, she would pee inside straight after peeing outside . Talk at puppy school as to the issues that you are having and maybe try the staffy thread??? Feed the pup in kongs to help slow it down.
  8. A neighbouring groomer charges about that (I charge $45), they also charge $55 for a Lab. I suppose whatever people pay, lol. Personally I think some charges are getting a bit 'out there'. I would say your Border quote is one of those. I used to pay $25 for my lab. Time to start sweet talking his breeder, I think.
  9. I have 2 very active dogs so I find twice a day is best. I also don't feed them in bowls, they either have it in their buster cubes or all over the lawn so it gives them something to do.
  10. Where is magic mutts??? I got a quote for a border collie at Mondo Cane and it was $85. I must say being a country girl I did almost fall over but I do realise things are a bit more $$$ in Sydney.
  11. Poocow where did you end up going?
  12. When I was there a few years back the pet shop used to run short courses but other then that there was nothing. What are you close to??? Also try the delta site and apdt.
  13. There is nothing cuter then a lab pup. If you are going for a kibble diet there are lots of great ones out there. Do a search on here and you will find lots of information. My favourite brands are Nutro (I feed this), Eagle pack, Iams and Nutrience. Pick one that is a a good quailty and easy to buy where you live. My lab had 2 or 3 shots as a pup but I read lots of different things when I got my girl and I found that my vet was the best one to talk to. Your puppy school will also let you know when you are able to start taking her to classes as each one is different. I would also be looking at getting lots of toys that will challenge the pup like kongs and buster cubes to keep her little brain working as labs love to chew. Also set the rules from day one and stick with them. My lab is now 5 and still has some bad habbits from when she was young. She was never allowed on the beds and never tried until my mother showed her how to get up when she was 4 months old and to this day she still thinks that my bed is one of the best places to be!!!! The Kiss Guide to Raising a Puppy also has lots of great tips. So what name have you got picked out???
  14. :D I've had that quite a few times with clients dogs- disssssssgusting! its rank and this has been the only dog I have actually seen it sliding in and out and I dont want any more so I dont envy you Try having the cat sitting on a book that you are reading and well leaving one behind!!! Lucky we have found something to get rid of them as he is now asleep on the computer.

  16. I second the don't use cheap stuff!!! One of my cats had a few issues and even the all wormer from the vet only helped for a week or two. I ended up with tablets that just do the tapeworm and so far we have been good for about 6 weeks.
  17. Is that the one that is north or south strathfield or something like that??? Have parked in there carpark and they looked good. I must remember to try them sometime.
  18. I had my boy desexed at the one on Burwood rd and had no problems with them. Price was one of the cheapest around. I had my rescue cat done at the vet on Lyons Rd and there were issues there with the cat pulling the stitches out and the staff were great. So I would use either of them.
  19. hehehe I have used one at the dog wash but it says that to keep your mars coat king in top condition that you should only use it on a clean coat so mister sinky will get a wash this weekend then we will take the coat king out of the packet!!!! Yes I am in lurv with it and it is still shiny and new in the packet.....
  20. Hmmm have used them and would not waste my money every again! Would be better of driving and finding someone better....
  21. I got one on the weekend but have not tried it yet. Will attack Carter this weekend!!!!
  22. Everyone gets Nutro here but I will feed Eagle Pack if I can't get Nutro. Used to feed Iams or Nutrience and found them good as well.
  23. I used to train with one. She took a fit at training after lots of running. All the dog did was lay down on its side and wet itself. After a little while the dog got up all dazed. The dog took a second fit at the vet a short time later. So no tests were needed. As far as I know the dog was not given any medication, the owner just had to keep her calm.
