  1. Daisy we have someone making these snuggle beds for us to sell thru iggy rescue. The lady making them is able to take orders to make them any size you wish. Will try to get pics and prices on the website in the next couple of days. We are also able to sell the miyow and barkey beds thru our website, so that the profit goes to iggy rescue. We are still setting stuff up on the website, paypal is not yet available but hopefully wont be long. We also sell iggy/whippet/greyhound clothing. www.iggyrescue.com.au

  4. They don't, they hang on the tail. Gravity would make the thing move somewhat out of the way, since it hangs off the tail. While I would never waste money on one of these (nor do I think the dog would like it) one of the major things I noticed when I got my first short coated dog was how much time you spend looking at the brown kiss. :-S Really? My dog has a short coat and I sure as heck don't spend any time looking at his butt!! Well, how clever is your dog to have been trained never to face away from you! It's not like I choose to look at his butt but when a short coated dog that carries his tail high is facing away from you, that's what you see. ROFL You need to invest in taller furniture
  5. Oh yeah im sure the dog feels so much less exposed now LOL
  6. Im obviously miles to far away to help but would be happy to donate a warm whippet jumper for him?
  7. If you really want a laugh go to thier website and look at the pics of the three dogs running around with them on..

  10. I might get a custom one printed that says... 'press here for service'
  11. Ohh goodie! Anal covers! Im sure they are about to be THE new dog acessory! maybe we could sell them as fund raisers and have DOL printed on them? Endless possibilities..
  12. Still thinking of you Jed. Im sure you are getting sick of hospital food by now! Pity the food from the waiting room cant be snuck in for you to eat. You are never far from my thoughts. I cant wait for the day when you are well enough to post a comment online. Sending you lots of healing vibes xxx
  13. I have a yard thats considered small here in a rural town, but would probably be considered average in suberbia. I think my block is approx 600 sq m. The house is right at the front of the block though which makes the yard seem a little larger. The yard is fenced into seperate areas. One third of the yard is for the two larger dogs - a golden and a kelpie cross, and the other two thirds of the yard is for my 4 iggies. My iggies self exercise in thier yard and are forever doing zoomies and racing around. None of them are keen on going on 'walks' as such so I play with them in the yard and they are happy to race around madly on and off all day. The 2 larger dogs use thier part of the yard as a loo and somewhere to pass the time while Im at work. They have a stock watering trough as a pool, loads of toys etc but really they mostly jsut lay around. The 2 larger dogs are exercised with walks. They also love running around and playing fetch with me before dark out the back, when i open up the gate between the two yards (after the iggies are safely indoors). I try to take the golden to obedience but I confess I am a little slack. All my dogs are inside the house with me when Im home. They all sleep inside and if its super cold/wet/really hot they are all inside 24/7. I wouldnt like to have my dogs in a yard thats any smaller than they have. The iggies need the space to run and play, and the bigger dogs need to be able to move around a little. If i could afford it I would love to live on acreage, mainly because i have neighbour issues. I have had 3 shade sails installed in the backyard, plus a small carport for shelter from the elemenents. They also have the back verandah of the house, along with an assortment of kennels etc. The bigger dogs yard is all concrete as my golden has a digging fetsih. The iggies yard is a mixture of lawn and paving. I also have a long small side yard - approx 2m x 10m, that is half roofed. This yard is connected to the hosue via a doggy door, and this is the yard my elderly sheltie has access to while Im at work, its also concreted. This yard was designed for when I have a bitch with pups so she can get outside to relieve herself without having to go near the other dogs. My yard although not perferct works for me. However I have spent a lot of money installing fencing, gates, concrete and shade sails to make the yard work for me and my dogs. When I can afford it I plan to add a room onto the back of the house which will be a dog room. At the moment the dog room is the enclosed verandah, and while it works ok I would love more space. Once this room is built all the dogs will be able to access the aircon/heated house during the day without me having to come home from work and bring them indoors. I dont think a large yard is needed so much as a planned yard, especially for multidog households. If my yard was just a large open space theres no way it would work for me.
  14. My iggies ae coated 24/7 throughout winter. They also have an insulated carpeted very warm kennel for when im at work. The golden and kelpie arent bothered by the cold, and all the dogs sleep in the heated house with me. If its going to be a bitterly cold day I just leave them inside for the day. If we get rain during the day I come home from work and bring all the dogs inside.
  15. I was faced with this very problem twice while i was a uni student. Both times I asked friends and family to help and thankfully they did. Plan B was to sell my and possessions to cover the cost.
  16. :D Thats amazing. How the hell do you have so many long lived animals? Do you feed them preservatives from day 1? lol
  17. Go to Spotlight like I did, and you don't even need to talk to anyone. In the quilting section are "fat quarters" sitting there ready to take to the checkout. There is also the iron-on bonding paper that you buy by the 10cm length, and needles and pins there in that section. From the embroidery aisle there are hoops and threads and stuff. Nearest Spotlight is over 300klm away We have one local little shop that sells fabric, will try there. I live in Broken Hill.
  18. Wouldnt it make sense to find out what jed's fav colours are and then stick to those colour of colours that blend with them? What if we all get purple coloured stuff and she hates purple?
  19. Oh cool the real challenge will be cutting the fabric in a straight line, thats def not my strong point lol
  20. Please excuse my ignorance but is a 'fat quarter' a measurement of some kind?? I am thinking the old lady in the one shop that sells fabric here is going to look at me and say 'you want a fat what?'
  21. Jed your courage really is inspiring. Ive never met you but you have been in my thoughts constantly these past weeks. I cant wait for you to post on DOL again, just to know that you are well enough to type on a computer .. i think I will be in tears of relief. The way the DOL community has pulled together to support you, and the amazing job Pacers has done, its hard to find the words to express how this makes me feel. I so often see the dark side of humanity, its wonderful to see the other side for a change! Im sure your dogs will turn themselves inside out with joy when they see you again, little Chi will be doing 360's all over the place! Ive no doubt Chi will also give you a good telling off for daring to go away and leave her too lol. I hope and pray you will continue to heal both physically and emotionally, and that the journey back to full health is a easy one for you. Have great weekend Jed xxx
