  1. Except that I won't be at SR trial you could just look for any of the trialling Aussies as they can all be feral ;) RubyStar, Very big congratulations :D
  2. OzJen, I have been looking at the photos already :D Will get some of both Varda and Banjo. Do you think Jenna jumped the broad high enough too? I think she thought there should be a bar over the top Some good photos fo her too ;) I am not doing any of the trials between the States and Nationals :D Will be showing horses instead I think of my dogs only Jenna may benefit from having 16 runs (plus finals if lucky!) over 2 weeks Varda and Abbey I think would definitely not like it thus the weekend off :D
  3. What breed was the other pup? A more common one? The problem with Open shows is that trainee judges áre unlikely to go for something that don't know that well.
  4. Yay, survived my first trial of doing 9 runs Varda didn't want to play the game at all today Abbey wanted to play the game way too much, although did manage 6th out of 14 clears in Masters Jumping Just don't ask about her other two runs Jenna got her first GD leg... and only did one stuff up each other her other two rounds Banjo wasn't too bad He didn't go and visit the judge, nor did he run up and bowl over the photographer :D But he did get distracted at times (especially as the person in the ring next door kept yelling at her dog very loudly ) so he ran past a couple of jumps. But all is looking good for States and Nationals
  5. I have to admit I would probably just eat my "collectors item" HCB And then I can have the excuse that I am possessed by the devil
  6. Poor Mason... give him a big (gentle) hug from us! And definitely report it :D So how many people are going to return any defective HCBs... you know the ones with the cross on upside down
  7. Fetchindawgs, I forgot to say as well... my parents are happy to find out more info about using our property for retrieving trials but don't know that we would be able to remove the geese... so would 4 geese be a problem for retrieving dogs? They would stay out of the way it is just my dad is a bit iffy of them being chased (my dogs love swimming after them ) You can email me on mirawee @westnet.com.au(remove space) if you want to chat more about it :D
  8. vCBR, problem we have with Mundaring Shire is that they told us we could apply for a kennel license and sent us the paperwork, then once we bought the property and followed it up we were told they don't give kennel licenses and haven't for years :p And if we want to breed at all, even if we only have 1 adult dog, we require a kennel license ETA: But we were told we could put in an application that would only cost us $6000 for them to consider it I only really know the regulations in the Shire of Mundaring for 5+ acres... where you are allowed 4 dogs and can apply for a license for 6 but must have the extra dog/s first ;) Residential is 2 dogs with application for 3 allowed and I think there is a middle size property for 3 dogs with extra allowed on application. And I haven't moved out of home... I just made my parents buy a property with two houses :D
  9. vCBR, not good about either your appendix or the proposed development! Although HV would be a nice place to retire... if you had the option of public transport Have just had a very busy with the ponies this weekend and all I can say is Diva and Nova are stars! (Raven isn't as she couldn't go due to injury ) And yes, the 5 horses I named before this year's foal all have a "v" as the third letter of their name - it wasn't deliberate!
  10. Lots of damage in Nedlands. Many cars in the UWA and QEII (Charlies Hospital) carparks are written off. Massive flooding and ceilings collapsed to both sites as well!
  11. I hope everyone has survived the storm! It took me 3.5 hours to get home from Nedlands today which is 2 hours longer than usual! Major damage in Nedlands as well with lots of cars damaged some completely Also Charles Gairdner Hospital and UWA have both suffered a lot of flooding, broken windows and collapsed ceilings. Fetchindawgs, I have no idea if our property would be suitable or not but I would be happy to talk to my parents and then find out more. Problem with our property is 1) we have horses on there so I don't know how gundogs would react to them (they are used to shooting so that isn't a problem LOL) although I guess they could be kept away anyway and 2) near the "lake" that my dogs are swimming in we have fish ponds for commercial aquaculture so dogs aren't really allowed to go into there and not all of them are fenced off. Oh and we have 4 geese that we would need to figure out how to temporarily remove. We certainly have an oversupply of ducks though so you could even try some real duck hunting
  12. Oh and Amypie, I am taking two of my own dogs to the Nationals, but like you aren't doing games Teams is only for the State teams event and you have to have a Masters dog to qualify
  13. Winpara, come on the Sunday morning in showing clothes and you can show a horse for me I potentially have 3 horses in the ring at one time (2 definitely are as they are in 3 out of 4 of the same classes ) and the other might be in a different ring at the same time. One horse has a handler figured out for all her classes but I might be stuck for the other one (I can even let you have the one who will be at her first show ) Purebred arabians are Saturday and Derivatives are Sunday. Halter is morning and ridden is after lunch RubyStar, this particular show is at the State Equestrian Centre at Brigadoon. They have shows at Gosnell's fairly regularly though... so next time I go to one of those I will try and remember to tell you when it is on Amypie, at the big shows they carry out random drug testing usually on a couple of horses... thus the swab levy as it costs about $300+ per horse to test so we each pay $10 levy when swabbing occurs.
  14. Happy Birthday ValleyCBR Amypie, it always used to be that dog entries were so much cheaper than horse ones... now the dog ones are getting fairly even per class, and in some cases are more expensive! Only good thing is you don't tend to have the ground fees, first aid levies, swabbing levies, stabling fees etc etc that you do for the bigger horse shows.
  15. Lack of time ;) Ie the next ADAA trial is on the same weekend as one of the big Arab shows with International judges... and stupid me has three Arab derivatives entered on the Sunday so Saturday will be spent getting them all ready And I can get 5 dogs ready for showing in the time it takes me to get a horse ready
  16. I keep tossing up whether to join ADAA. I have so much else on I am wondering whether I could fit it in I guess it doesn't cost that much to join though
  17. Well done to Amypie and ValleyCBR for surviving their first agility trial ValleyCBR, training on Friday night should be cancelled as the trial that night is being run by Perth and therefore committee members and other members should really be there helping, or at least that is what is usually done. Although since I am no longer on the committee I guess they might have decided to change.
  18. Thank you for my i-squeaks Ptolomy :D My guys didn't get a chance to play with them by the time I got home last night but hopefully they will love them too I look forward to seeing the video when I get home too Is it strange that I love the smell of them?
  19. All dogs at the DogsWest grounds must be on lead at all times unless training. So you are not allowed to toilet your dogs without them being on lead according to the rules Try it near show people and they will have a go at you Agility/obedience people on the other hand are a lot more relaxed. The council actually have no rights to fine people with dogs on the DogsWest grounds as it is private property not public land. It is up to DogsWest to control their dogs on lead policy not the council. Unless of course the dogs are "trespassing". RubyStar, there was something in the Canine a year or so ago. It stated that as long as you don't interfere with any training/competition sessions members are allowed to used the grounds at any time they are open, however should pay light money if the lights are on.
  20. Welcome again Your two look lovely and oh so happy in those photos
  21. I know a couple of people who have put down retirees who have lived a good life. Then there have been about 5 threads in the last week on Stockies, including 2 where foals died due to paddock accidents and then their mothers died within 24 hours
  22. I just received an email back to my enquiry :D All breeds not listed will be judged on the last Friday. If entries are received those breeds will be listed in the catalogue. And they are going to fix Finnish Lapphunds and put them back in Group 5
  23. Hmm, that could work then... go over in time to do jumping on Wednesday evening then show on Thursday and Friday Only thing is that I have mares due around that time - but one is for sale and I am not convinced the other is still pregnant I will be getting her check out soon. Janine, a friend is on the committee this year. They told me the Working Group day but not the others, sorry.
  24. (((HUGS))) Lab_Rat. There seems to be too many horsey deaths in WA at the moment At least your girl had a long and well loved life. RIP Sally
  25. Members can go and use the grounds whenever they want. If training is on though at a minimum you would be expected to pay the light money fee.
