Rosie and Trixie are both going great :D I think both should be in the ring before too much longer ;) Um, I only have 3 dogs (and hopefully another pup end of the year), 2 cats, xx horses (can't be bothered counting). But no OH or kids :p

Chandra is looking great Emery Sorry, I can't help with a chiro either... well except I know a few people use Kevin Kelly - he is at Ascot I think but may travel.

Thank you! Looks like I can go :-) I am interested in when the obedience and agility is too but not too worried about them lol

So do mine And Banjo is a pillow hog too Admittedly Banjo is the youngest at 3yo. So give it another couple of years Bedazzled

That was my first thought OzJen, don't know where you are meant to find a wealthy guy sorry. Mum told me I should start looking though

What Makes A Show/s Popular With You?
mirawee replied to poodlefan's topic in General Dog Discussion
We travelled interstate to compete against another Lappy Would definitely travel for a Lappy specialty although our current show Lappies are 8 and 10yo As said, we are "lucky" in WA. Our metro show grounds are excellent the majority of the time - and when not excellent they are still good (although it is fun doing agility in a "lake" or with dogs who like going off for a swim ) The country show grounds I have been too have both been good as well :D* And the ag show I go to is fine parking wise and while you know you get tiny rings at least it is the same for everyone -
I can't believe how many threads you are the top poster in RS And not by small amounts either
-
Sounds great It would be nice if they released the day timetable earlier than May - I want to book my holidays :D Oh well, I will be patient I don't think Banjo would have problems showing on carpet... he has no issues doing zoomies in the bedroom (including over the bed)
-
It is amazing how lazy you can teach dogs to be LOL. I get out of bed in the morning and the dogs stay there until I start heading towards the kitchen Oh and if you found a really wealthy guy you could give up work and have more time for the dogs

I am considering flying over for Adelaide Royal this year but it depends on what day each breed is on. Does anyone know when the schedule will be released (we already have Perth Royal's and it is on a month later )

(((Hugs))) Oso RIP little kitty. I need to make a website but with both the horses and dogs it is going to be quite complicated I have gotten quotes from people to do it for me but the amount of effort I have to put in before I can turn it over to someone else makes me :D One day...

Send her here Well if I can shave her... long haired cats don't do so well on rural properties. My old cat has got a cold ;) Hoping it is nothing worse. She is 17 now!

Biochem is much better than normal chem ;) Aren't you meant to be studying rather than lurking on DOL?

Molecular Genetics was fun You have to love 14 hours of labwork a week for one subject ;) We only have 3hrs thank god! Although when I do Cytology we have a 6 hour lab in one sitting! What year are you in? We had 9am-6pm one day and then 1-4pm the next or something like that in third year. 2nd year I think we had around 8 hours of labwork over 2 days. That was at UWA which apparently is more "theoretical" than the other Uni's I know when I went and did honours at Murdoch (coz I could deal with animals there rather than plants) I was suprised by how few lab hours their molecular biology/genetics classes did.

What, you mean you don't have that week booked off as annual leave already Everyone knows I won't be at work Royal Show week :D

It probably takes longer to groom a poodle for a show than a horse ROFL. All up to fully prep a horse including washing, plaiting, trimming etc is probably around 3 hours or so. I have to admit I cheated this time and didn't do the plaits in Nova's mane (did her forelock and tail braid though) as she was off at a pro (her Sire's owner) getting prepped since I had the other two to deal with as well - not that either actually was sound enough to go to the show! Miss Raven was meant to be in the same classes as Miss Nova so it was too hard to do the two of them myself

Hmm I think he can now add hole digger to his CV Well maybe he is telling you he needs more food I have had a chewer - which is why my lounge chair has no arm any more It has been. My excuse is that I have been busy with ponies and that has been making me tired On a good note I got to cancel my vet appointment this morning as Miss Raven obviously has a "show radar" and since the show was yesterday she is nearly completely sound today

Allergies in people are on the rise too. I have great respect to people who deal with allergy dogs. It would be so heartbreaking at times!

Yay! Well done to Ch Soggy Bear So you aren't going to enter her to keep Strauss company at shows?

I had an interesting conversation with one of the top reproduction vets in WA a few years ago. 1) He does not believe that hip scoring has brought down hip scores. 2) He believes that any dog with a score of more than 0-0 has hip dysplasia. And when you think about it that is true! 3) He believes that too many vets operate on dogs who have "hip dysplasia" when they are too young (under 1yo). So what score do people consider the dog to have "clinical" hip dysplasia at? I know of dogs who have had scores around 15:15 or even higher and they have never had a lame day in their life! Yet a dog may have been diagnosed as having hip dyspasia and score less than that.

:happybirthday: RallyValley We had a go at Rally-O last night and apparently both Banjo and Abbey would have passed If you had offered last night I am sure a few of us would have made room in our cars ;) Varda got another pass in CCD (just :p) last night making it 2 for 2 :D Not quite such good work though, Varda was distracted although did some moment of good work but auto sits were a bit broken I now have things to work on myself too so hopefully we can be better again when it finally cools down enough for us to attempt a day trial Will have to start doing more work on Banjo's stays too since once Varda eventually gets her CCD title I guess it is his turn

I am sure you only ever offer constructive criticism That is a very good attempt at total destruction! You must be proud of him for putting in full effort

Lovely pictures CC LR, I feel your pain! I hate having counter surfing dogs but they never do it when I am there so it is a bit hard to correct LOL And now a whinge. Not pointed at anyone on here but because I can't whinge on FB where others may see it The dog world is a small place. Making derogatory comments, or comments that could be taken to be derogative about someone else's dogs will likely get back to the person. Be even more careful when you make derogative comments that you don't make it sound like you don't think your own dogs are any good
