  1. Well done again WX Did Makaela take her Sheltie as well? If so how did he do? I can't believe they only had 3 Shelties entered - so very different from Perth!
  2. Well looks good for training tonight - hopefully J and M have done some work with the girls too so they aren't completely feral!
  3. The problem is that you have said that the dog is not a therapy dog and that your friend doesn't have problems but it is her way of making sure the dog can be taken everywhere. Imagine everyone did that and it became a nuisance. So the rules may be changed and places where therapy dogs are currently allowed become anti-dog. You then have someone who really does need the assistance of a therapy dog but they can no longer take them with them
  4. While it is good for your friend I wonder if it will be abused too much meaning that it will be stopped and those who have REAL therapy dogs will be disadvantaged. So sorry, I find it very selfish of your friend
  5. Well done to Tamika and Jessie Did you manage to get a pass with Dezzy as well today?
  6. I hope it isn't cancelled as I have a trial this weekend coming and haven't done any training with the 2 Aussies in weeks! Although if it is cancelled I can watch the final of Australia's Got Talent Joelle, how exciting about your new puppy to be! Although sad about Jake I am a bit more tolerant of all of you getting puppies now as we have firm plans for a Lappy mating at the end of the year Don't know what is happening about the Kelpies atm :p
  7. Happy birthday Candice - you are now officially old Or so I was told last year Happy birthday for yesterday as well RosieFT Bedazzled, maybe Zac wanted to play tug? :p
  8. Cute vid RV... I love it where her belly starts to get wet She isn't a little puppy anymore though
  9. Maybe she is sulking that you didn't take her with you? Kinta used to sulk if I went away - she would refuse to speak to me when I got back :p
  10. Mundaring Vet Clinic then 9298 8492 They aren't a specialist equine clinic but Duncan and Jill are both very good with horses They are my vet ;) ETA: If they want extensive xrays/scans/etc then the other option is also Belvoir Equine Centre (9296 6666) in Belhus - the horse would need to be floated to them though and they are usually more expensive. I use them for breeding work and times when more intensive nursing is required but go with Mundaring for more straightforward stuff usually.
  11. Actually the recommendation is not for three years unless you use the 3 yearly vaccine. It isn't just a case of giving the normal vaccine 3 years apart...
  12. Lovely puppy AlexF! Showdog, which area for a vet? Anyone know how much is a good price for a second hand a-frame and dog walk?
  13. You can always do NFC so you can motivate Mason more in the ring I am assuming you can do NFC still in obedience even if you don't have that title... can anyone confirm?
  14. Rain, rain and more rain Am currently trying to decide if I can be bothered going to a horse show on Sunday Tiggy, 20th August is a Saturday.
  15. Well looking at the forecast I am very happy not to be entered this weekend ;) Although now I have said that it will probalby be better this weekend than in August
  16. Varda will be entered in the trial on the 20th August Although I will also be showing that day which could make it fun
  17. Well Mocha, you are certainly a very handsome boy aren't you How mean is your Mum though for putting you in a pot to take photos
  18. How far through a pregnancy would you fly a bitch? Would a 5 or so hour flight at 5 weeks pregnant (after pregnancy is confirmed) be ok? Assuming the bitch is of course healthy and has been flown previously with no ill effects
  19. Good luck if you want to do vet nursing. It is very hard work for very little pay! I was earning more working in a racing stable than my friend was vet nursing in a specialised equine hospital!
  20. You can have lunch if you want. I have horses and dogs to feed before going down - and it takes me 45 mins to get there - so I don't really want to drive down, drive home, then drive back down again before possibly detouring to Canning Vale area on my way home Plus I am used to having dinner at 8pm or later anyway :p I think most of us are sensible and have booked the Monday off work ;)
  21. Happy birthday Bedazzled For those DOLers going to Wicked and/or dinner - I have just realized that the show starts at 6.30 not 8pm like I had thought! I would have known when we booked but I had forgotten! So dinner will need to be afterwards - which I am guessing would be around 8.30 or 9pm. I am also happy coz Banjo has barely coughed today!
  22. And who is to say that having a CH title makes a dog worthy of being bred, or not having a title means they shouldn't? If you look at some of the larger breeds, it isn't uncommon for Grand Champions to come from non-Champion parents. And having a Grand Champion parent doesn't mean that your dog will even get it's title! I have a breed that there is no specialty anywhere in Australia to compete at. Does that mean no dogs in that breed are worthy of getting their Champion title? Although the first specialty is due to be held in Victoria next year... I know a few interstaters are planning on going, including us, however our 3 show dogs are retired - one to the neuter ring (of which we have maybe 2 or 3 shows a year - although if neuter classes are offered she will get to have a plane trip), one to the occasional veterans outing since she is 10.5yo and the other to the life of a couch potato as he doesn't like showing and is 8.5yo. All 3 are Champions - one would have been a Gr Ch if she hadn't had a few years off to have puppies - but obviously none of them should be since they haven't competed at a specialty...
