  1. When Banjo had KC neither Varda or Kinta starting coughing. All three had to be quarantined though.
  2. Bugger about your day Rusky! I know Perth let's you trial still if entries have gone missing - some have turned up in the mail a couple of weeks after COE but postmarked before! RV, poor Zora. Hopefully it isn't KC otherwise it isn't a week you will be missing but 2 weeks more after coughing stops I am still waiting for my foal...
  3. So get rid of the 25 point BOB at All breed shows but accept 25 point BIS at Specialties Then you get back to the issue of "What about breeds that don't have a specialty" which you raised the issue of in a previous post I would prefer that to 25 point CC at all breed shows Just annoys me that a dog can go ruBIG and not get anything towards their Grand, yet a dog who got a 25 point CC and was beaten for BIG/ruBIG still gets the requirement towards the award
  4. Oops, my informant must have been wrong I didn't look up the results myself. BIG, BIS or BISS should still be only if they are 25 point CC. Fairly sure that the current rules have that for BIG or BIS - that is how I read it anyway
  5. So get rid of the 25 point BOB at All breed shows but accept 25 point BIS at Specialties I just don't see why breeds with less than 20 dogs competing have to beat the breeds who got a 25 point BOB for BIG but are treated the same in respect to the Gr Ch title. Also a Pharoah Hound won BIG at Perth Royal this year - ok so not a BIS but still pretty good
  6. I would have asked to speak to a manager... Hope they didn't wake you up Kinta has been going grey since she was a 2yo. She has grey eyebrows now Her 10th birthday is just before Christmas Banjo has a couple of grey hairs just making an appearance - he is 3.5yo. Looks very obvious on a pitch black dog, although there really aren't that many
  7. Personally I think the Grand Champion title should be made fairer by removing the 25 point CC at breed level. 25 points needs to be with BIG only. Under the current rules numerically superior breeds don't require even 1 BIG win as they tend to have 25 point BOBs most shows. Specialty wins are only good if you have breeds that run specialty shows. For both my breeds I would need to spend several thousands of dollars to go over East to compete at specialty shows. We will be doing that next year but then that will be for the first Lappy specialty in Australia
  8. What is he being fed? A friend's pup was hypo on Eukanuba dog food but calmed down once that was changed Of course some dogs are just full on anyway and puppies in particular
  9. There is a lady who shows from a wheelchair in the toy group in WA. Her sister(?) goes into the ring with her and pushes the wheelchair and puts the dogs on the table.
  10. Perth Royal have ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class, rosettes for CC, rCC, BOB and rBOB. BOB also received a pack of worming tablets and a voucher for a professional photo (including print). Class in group winners got Rosettes and Virbac product. Class in Show winners will get trophies, rosettes and product.
  11. I got my Canine News yesterday ;) Rusky, Eccles is gorgeous! Poo-Fong, love the new bed (and the dog lying on it :D) Well I showed yesterday under both the German and UK judge and didn't have a problem with how either went over the dogs German judge checked dentition by opening the lips and running his fingers over teeth to count so none of the dog complained and the UK judge got us to show full dentition ourselves. In fact my only complaint about the two judges was that I couldn't understand the sign language that the UK judge was using to indicate what she wanted us to do And it didn't help that every time I went into the ring under her in breed classes I was the first one so had to try and interpret it I am very glad the Royal is over for another year though
  12. Oh and I also managed to get 3rd (and a Q) in Masters Jumping with Abbey
  13. Well after everything I read about the judges on Facebook I was expecting something bad The German judge was great - yes he checked dentition, but only by opening the lips and running his fingers over them to count. He also took the conditions into consideration with his judging as our older Lappy was freaked out by a child rummaging around in a showbag just after he went past which made him drop his tail down completely - a fault in the breed as tail must be above back height on the move - judge laughed and still gave him the class ;) The UK judge was fine as well - wanted to see full dentition but made us show her ourselves. The only problem with her was she was very unclear in signalling exactly what she wanted us to do! Results for my breeds. 15. I am nearly up to my 15 year reunion (if they did one LOL) Amy started the year after I left
  16. What year did you graduate AP? Had quite a few friends at Swanleigh and went there a fair bit for various things through Govo Swanleigh kids are scabs :D
  17. RosieFT, is your Labradoodle one of those magic ones that don't shed and never need to be brushed or clipped? So exciting if it is :D If not you should demand a refund... HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay to a week off Although I now have to work next Friday afternoon as silly me said I could cover a sick workmate. Bet I really regret it come Friday morning!
  18. I would love to go. But can't get the time off
  19. RS, have finally remembered to send the passes to you If you don't get them tomorrow let me know as I *think* I can email them to you.
  20. No it isn't :D Both Lappies and Kelpies have double coats and I haven't known a smelly one of either unless they are allowed to roll in something gross
  21. I don't know any Aussies who get washed every week LOL. Grooming wise they aren't that hard either except for the show ring. And even for the show ring it is just trim feet, neaten ears and chalk white bits. Don't you have to trim tails or something in Labs? Get a Kelpie - absolutely no trimming then
  22. I couldn't imagine having a dog you have to wash every week The Lappies get washed as little as possible. Basically when we have to which for the non-show dogs isn't often. Varda is due for a bath atm though. Actually the Kelpies are the same ;)
  23. Aww, he has so much fun Ptolomy Love the collapsing at the end Actually I loved watching the end of the CDX stays when Scoota was released by his stand in handler ;)
