Happy belated birthday Millie! MG, I hope Mason is feeling better soon. I use a pocket for bait if there is one in what I am wearing LOL Emery, love the photo! On other news - I have my foal now :D
-
They have a website ;) http://members.iinet.net.au/~wasps/ And I am fairly sure they are open during the week too. But you need to call to confirm hours
-
This weeks shows are in Geraldton I am pretty sure Shows the weekend after though
-
If you can get a babysitter I could possibly pick you up on the way through Emery... You arent far from Midland are you?
-
Too hot for any dogs to run around in summer - and did you miss the bit about snakes?
-
Banjo has given judges kisses in the ring... including an International judge at the WC when he was in Junior If judges expect dogs to be robots and perfectly behaved they shouldn't be judging

Go WA!!!!! -
Yep ST, there are 3 baby Lappies entered (from 2 litters - Qld and Vic) all in their first show They are so cute And a friend had 3 babies born on Sunday night too - one of which should end up in the show ring too Then we find out around the 9th November what the chances of us getting a new pup are... So exciting times for the Lappies!
-
I am actually 10 minutes past Gidge townsite - so 30 mins from Midland. Absolutely gorgeous countryside but I wish it was closer (work = Nedlands; dog stuff = Canning Vale; Horse stuff = 30+ mins away)! I will send you a PM closer to the time Horty once I make sure I definitely can go
-
I have a show on the 30th of this month with 2 baby puppies - One I have met twice and the other about 5 times! The little boy I can pretty well guarantee he will sit when the judge mouths him. Which is fine as I will then get him to stand again The little girl is likely to bound around beside me on the end of her leash as she thinks that is much more fun than gaiting But they are babies so it doesn't matter
-
The dam is a bit away from the fully fenced area. And is definitely not fenced. Also we need to be aware of the geese as they are not allowed to be harrassed by the dogs Snakes - always a risk (ETA: in hotter weather) although we see more bobtails then snakes. More of an issue is horse poo in the paddock
-
I am East Gidgegannup We really are going to have to organise a DOLer meet at my place one day too... 3/4 - 1 acre fully fenced paddocks anyone? :D
-
I should be used to long commutes... takes me an hour and a half to get to work each day But because of that I try to avoid going out too much otherwise
-
Out of interest what is the average period you have to wait for a pet Lab puppy? For a Lappy it is around a year, more if you want a specific sex/colour (and a lot longer than that if you actually want to buy in WA )
-
Not sure about no Labs to rescue in WA. Knowing one Lab breeder quite well she often had rescued Labs going through her kennel for rehoming and not just rehomes from her own breeding programme. But certainly if a Lab Rescue group couldn't find any dogs to rehome then that is a good thing
-
I would also be looking at the parents and decide which ones you like better in type, which ones you like better in temperament and which ones have a breeder you get on with Hopefully there is one that ticks all 3 boxes and is at a price you are willing to pay I have to admit, for $1500 a pup I can't see that many Lab breeders who should be complaining about not making a profit. Even if an emergency C section is required. Maybe I should look at getting a Lab
-
Those prices are more in line with what I would expect for a Lab Around the $1000 mark with some higher some lower
-
I have to agree that $1500 is a lot for a relatively common breed of dog which tends to have big litters. I have a rare breed which is only around that much. My breeds has a lot smaller litters, as many health tests required and has a lot of people waiting for a pup. But if the breeders can get it then good for them
-
Well they are guaranteeing their dog won't win if they don't compete aren't they? I have won when I didn't expect to ... and lost when I didn't expect to either
-
Coz none of us put dogs in our own cars I need to clean my car out this week - it has to be used to transport non-doggy people to a wedding on Monday
-
Maybe I drive to your place (or Amypie's) - I can find them Or at least I think I can That would take an hour... :D
-
An hour is nothing MG The problem I have is that depending on traffic it could be a lot closer to 2 hours And I don't know Freo that well - how easy is it to find and what is parking like?
-
Well I think I am free... but need to decide whether the 1.5 hours (minimum) to get there is worth it I wouldn't care so much about the time if I new there wouldn't be any traffic One of the main reasons I only visit Freo every decade or so ;)
-
Maybe contact DogsWest tomorrow and see what their official quarantine period is for KC.
-
Ptolomy, how long ago was it Perth wouldn't let you compete? I know at a recent trial someone did. RV all guidelines I have seen say either 2 weeks after cough finishes or 3 weeks after cough starts for quarantine. ADAA have very well written guidelines about KC and they even have it as a notifiable disease
