  1. Fair enough :) Do you know if there were many advanced people who hung around? Banjo was out every night from Thursday to Monday except for Sunday
  2. You really went to training last night?? We wondered if it was even on I thought Banjo would disown me if he had another late night :p
  3. Is everyone still trying to recover from the weekend? We are on the second page
  4. Well done Showdog :) What did you get in the first show? I know Class in Show but did you get rBIG as well?
  5. Yay! Go Amber The Lappies are continuing their domination in Minor Class for the Working Dogs in WA with Anikka taking her turn again last night with Minor in Group At 7.5 months she is already on 47 points after 6 shows in Minor :)
  6. So hot and tired! It was a great weekend though :D Ended up with Varda's unofficial second in the Obedience challenge, Taavi's Minor in Group on Friday night, Banjo's JD pass (and 3rd place) on Saturday night, a nice sleep on Sunday night  , then Anikka had her turn at Minor in Group last night So glad I didn't have to work today though!
  7. Well done to Hudson And I really like Miss Shine :D
  8. Woohoo! Well done Ptolomy It is wonderful that Val and Guinea are remembered every year at the Classic. They were certainly a wonderful pair both in the trialling ring and also standing around outside. Val always had a moment to chat even if you were a lowly newbie who watched her in awe. She is definitely missed by all Well done on your new titles Katie :)
  9. Well done Rumour!! She looks very professional Poocow :) Flaves, love the stand Taavi won a 11 point BOB under a Canadian judge on Friday night as well as Minor in Group :D Although I much prefer it when Arlo (2.5yo) gets BOB as he is somuch easier to handle in he BIG line up Will be interesting to see what tomorrow night brings (we have a public holiday...)
  10. Happy (agility) retirement Scoota Although Ptolomy, that doesn't mean you can retire too... however it means (slightly) more time to train the other red kids for agility :D
  11. Well done on everyone's success last night :) We are a very talented lot on here aren't we Ptolomy, the Occasionally Clever did a very good run :D He listened to you briliantly We decided to emulate you following afterwards but Abbey and I didn't do quite so well However I was very very happy with Banjo last night :D I was slightly concerned with 9 tunnels on course given he has never been a tunnel suck and usually has to be babied into tunnels but he was actually driving into them last night! I think the break has done him the world of good as he has come back into agility with so much more enthusiasm and finally seems to be "getting" it! I was also incredibly wrapt with Abbey, aka Velcro dog, who did an absolutely ripper run in Open Jumping for a pass! I couldn't believe she did the distance challenge as while the tunnel may have been within distance from the rope it was a LONG way away from where the handler was when the dog got to it  Now she has no excuses next time :D Poor Jenna had to put up with some very average handling Then a quick change and back into the show ring with Mr Taavi who thought it was a good time to play
  12. I also noticed Strauss had 3 different handlers in Group Special (2 for BIG when his initial handler had to get her dog in for ruBIG) Long night last night and it will be even longer tonight! Banjo was a loser dog in the Kelpie - I don't think I will bother entering him in under Canadian judges again as he always does nothing under them ;) In the Lappies it was Minor night with Taavi taking BOB, Anikka rBOB, Arlo was rDCC and the other 8 month old, Lumi, was rBCC. Taavi then took out Minor in Group so he has to go back tonight! After his owner has worked a 7am-7pm shift. Lucky she has tomorrow off Bugger to hear about the mugs again for prizes Did you at least get pretty ribbons? We managed a bottle of wine and an Advance slopper towel for BOB and the Classes In Group got a nice rosette, a 1kg? bag of Advance, some pet milk and some pet wipes (baby wipes but with a pic of the pet instead I am assuming  ) I told Erica to give her Mum the wine so the next time Taavi digs or destroys something she can say he has already paid for it
  13. The thing I was most impressed with Varda was me nearly falling down when I twisted my ankle in the hole on the first left about turn which I thought would throw her completely but she kept working Now to find another night show that doesn't clash with anything else to see how badly we can fail CD
  14. Yay for visiting Chica :D It would be so exciting to have a dog in quarantine to visit :D And even better when they get sprung Last night was good :) Varda got a bit confused with the length of the heelwork routine and missed 2 positions and a forward :p But she was less blonde than some of the dogs seemed to have been last night :D And would have gotten 2nd if they awareded more than first ;) Always the bridesmaid :p Ptolomy, Cider's litter could nearly make me go over to the "dark side" being Group 3... if I hadn't heard her in the car last night that is RosieFT, I would go an armband mobile holder. Go on ebay and see what you can find :)
  15. Two hours until the Western Classic starts And if anyone can tell me where Varda's fixed collar is I would be grateful
  16. You have the order of events right - or at least that is what I posted a couple of days ago
  17. Hopefully the fire near Canine is under control quickly Although I think it is closer towards Armadale Road rather than Ranford. I am currently hoping my night doesn't continue in the same vein as yesterday and how it has been so far today Otherwise I think Varda will refuse to leave the start peg (((hugs))) CC. It is strange what can set us off - and at the time you tell yourself you are being silly but still can't help it
  18. MG, Varda is likely to either do well or go out and bomb completely I have just decided to go with the flow and will pull her out if she is being too obstinant :p Will then need to find another night trial to see if we can do CD in a ring situation :p She can do it at home :D
  19. I went down to Mandurah with him and he absolutely loved it :D But if I was to have another go I would go to Simon since it is so much closer as I live in the Hills. The savings in lesson fee is offset by the cost in petrol and time  I will see what happens when I get my new pup as I might try and do some training. I would definitely like an "off" switch with Banjo and sheep We came across my neighbours sheep in an area they aren't usually kept when Banjo was off lead and all I could think was thank Dog Banjo couldn't get through the fence! Instead he ran up and down the fence line trying to find a way in until I caught him and put him on lead
  20. I just wish I had time to do herding with him. He loves that so much more than agility :p So it is a big thing to me that he is finally "getting" agility :D I have also made the decision that I won't do obedience trialling with him As much as I would like to I just don't want to take the risk with him in the stays as I would hate for another dog to start eyeing him off or worse still, come over and trying to stand over him! Coz I know he could react badly I think he will have to give Rally O a go instead :)
  21. I went to training last week too :D Although only had Abbey and Banjo there as Jenna was finishing her season :p It was 4.5 months since I had done any agility with them I am only doing Saturday and have Abbey and Jenna in their normal classes, so I think the two M classes for Abbey, the two X classes for Jenna and possibly Open? Then Banjo is in the Novice jumping but we will see how distracted he is coz he has only had the 2 training sessions in over 6 months (although was choosing to do jumps of his own will! OK, while it was while running back to say hello to the girls but he could have run around the jumps and still said hello Actually he didn't need quite so much "help" on the course either ;) ) Jasper isn't entered, he needs more training first although I am fairly sure the plan is that Maureen will have a go of running him first :) He is a pocket rocket though!
  22. Varda has caught and killed a few birds - out of midair She doesn't play with them, they are killed and if small they are eaten in a few seconds Agility was interesting last night :p Jenna was very good :D Abbey was feral :p Banjo started off feral and then was very good :) And I had a play with Jasper, wondered why we kept stuffing up right weavers, then got told "that's right, we haven't done them before" He was very good about staying with me, or coming back to me after running to check on his Mum anyway :D Western Classic starts tomorrow night
  23. Um, of course I counted two for strat pairs... (don't look at the edit above...) Games are on heights for all three as well aren't they? That is how I worked it out :) I did remember teams :D Thursday: Obedience Challenge Friday: Obedience Saturday: Agility Sunday: Games Monday: Teams
  24. Just looked at the WA ones. I wonder if I send them an email they will look at it  Although I do prefer the wording "...has not been exposed to..." rather than "...has not...been in kennels affected with..." 21cm across and approx 9.9cm down (1/3 of an A4 sheet). Link is here: http://www.dogswest.com/Pdfs/Applications/Entry_Form.pdf to see how they are set up, you just cut out each one...
  25. Personally going to split heights has made it so much harder to try and get decent sponsorship for the agility. 210 prizes are required for performance at the Western Classic weekend (assuming all 3 games are on offer) of which 70 of them are 1st place awards! Add the showing awards where you have 63 prizes at group level, 9 at show level and probably between 100 and 150 at breed level. Of course the show mob get 2x that because they have two shows. Geez, figuring it all out is doing my head in and it makes me even more impressed by what Penny has achieved Bedazzled, I wouldn't mind having a winners of winners for obedience except that having 2 mins prep time between being told they need me and having to go in the ring was I had no idea Abbey had won since she was one of the last dogs in before stays, then I had to run to CCD stays straight after, so I had no time to check out the scores before they were packed away High in Trial sounds less stressful ;)
